Norman is fantastic to work with. We just completed our second trip with his van as repeat customers, and it was great yet again. He was incredibly responsive to our needs and questions, and was very flexible to our situation and always very accommodating. The van drives very well and was incredibly comfortable for our family of 4. Highly recommended!

You’re not going to get a better host than Bill or a nicer RV for that price point than this one! As a new RV user, we had a TON of questions before and during our trip. Bill could not have been easier to deal with and his communication was excellent throughout our rental. Bill made our trip trouble-free and AMAZING - Five stars all around for sure!

2016 Winnebago Class C
Jessica communicated well but the RV had more wear than what was shown in the pictures. The seats and trim were old and had wear. The generator would not start so we were not able to use it while traveling. The door between bedroom and kitchen was a constant struggle to open and close. For the price the camper was good. It drove well and had no mechanical issues.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Hinesville, GA?

Good news: a regular Class C Georgia driver's license (or your equivalent home-state or home-country license) is all you need to rent an RV in Hinesville. The Georgia Department of Driver Services confirms that recreational vehicles used for personal travel are exempt from Commercial Driver's License (CDL) rules, regardless of the rig's weight. You'll need to be 25 or older to book on RVezy, and we'll verify your ID securely through the platform. Visiting from outside the US? What happens if I need to cancel my Hinesville RV trip?

Plans change, and RVezy keeps things flexible. RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy that applies to every booking, and it includes a grace period after you book where you can cancel for a full refund. Beyond that, your refund depends on how far out from your trip you cancel. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy will refund you or provide travel credits so your plans aren't derailed. You can review the full cancellation details on the RVezy Help Center before you confirm. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best campervan rental Hinesville options, knowing the grace period gives you room to adjust if something comes up.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Hinesville?

The sweet spot is October through May. Hinesville has a humid subtropical climate, so spring (March-May) and fall (October-November) bring those gorgeous 65-80°F days perfect for RV camping in Hinesville without the punishing summer humidity. Summer highs sit in the upper 80s to low 90s with afternoon thunderstorms and high humidity from June through September, and Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. Winters are mild with daytime highs around 60°F, making December-February surprisingly pleasant for snowbirds. Pro tip: book a March or November Hinesville RV trip to score milder weather, lower campground rates, and wide-open availability at Fort McAllister and Skidaway Island state parks.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving one out of Hinesville?

You're going to do great, and you won't be left to figure it out alone. Every RVezy host gives a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving tips, the generator, slide-outs, water, propane, and dump procedures, so first time renting an RV feels approachable. Hinesville is also a beginner-friendly launch point: wide, flat roads on US-84 and GA-196, no mountain grades, and easy highway access to I-95. If big-rig driving makes you nervous, choose a Class C motorhome or campervan rental in Hinesville, or pick a host who delivers. Pro tip: do a short shakedown loop around the Bryant Commons area before heading out to Savannah so the rig feels familiar.

What if I break down or have a problem during my trip?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on US-17, a dead battery near Fort Stewart, or a tow off I-95 is a single phone call away. Your host is also typically reachable through the RVezy messaging app for quick troubleshooting, and RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after every trip. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number in your phone before pickup, snap a photo of the RV's VIN and license plate, and you'll have everything you need if anything pops up during your motorhome rental Hinesville adventure.

What are the best road trip routes from Hinesville?

Hinesville is a perfect launchpad for a Southern coastal RV road trip. Popular routes include the 40-mile run north to Savannah's Historic District, the Georgia Coast loop through Richmond Hill, Brunswick, and Jekyll Island (about 90 miles south), the 140-mile drive down I-95 to Jacksonville, Florida, and the 180-mile Atlantic Coast cruise to St. Augustine. You can cross state lines into Florida or the Carolinas in your RVezy rental. Heads up: travel into Mexico isn't permitted because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. Pro tip: message the host before booking if you're planning a multi-state trip so they can confirm any mileage add-ons up front.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Hinesville RV trip?

Fuel is easier to budget than most first-timers think. Class B campervans typically get 18-22 MPG, Class C motorhomes around 8-12 MPG, and larger Class A coaches roughly 6-10 MPG. Georgia gas prices generally run a bit below the national average, and you'll find plenty of large-rig-friendly stations in Hinesville along US-84 plus Flying J and Pilot stops near the I-95/GA-196 interchange in Midway, about 10 minutes east. For a typical 200-mile round trip from Hinesville to Savannah and Tybee Island in a Class C, budget roughly $60-$110 in fuel. Pro tip: use a fuel price app to find the cheapest diesel along I-95 before you fill up.

How far in advance should I book a campground for my Hinesville RV trip?

Earlier is better, especially for state parks. Georgia State Parks like Fort McAllister and Skidaway Island accept reservations up to 13 months in advance through the official Georgia State Parks reservation system, and coastal sites for spring break, Memorial Day, and fall weekends often fill 4-6 months out. Private parks like Savannah South KOA generally have more flexibility but still fill quickly during Savannah's St. Patrick's Day weekend. Pro tip: aim to book your campground first, then your RVezy rental, so your dates line up perfectly.
gastateparks.org/Reservations

What are local driving conditions like around Hinesville?

Driving an RV around Hinesville is refreshingly easy. The terrain is flat coastal plain with low elevation, roads like US-84, US-17, and GA-196 are wide and well-maintained, and I-95 sits about 10 miles east for easy long-distance travel. Watch for afternoon summer thunderstorms (June-September), heavier military traffic near Fort Stewart's gates during morning and evening commutes, and the occasional low-clearance live-oak canopy on older Savannah side streets, so stick to main routes in the historic district. Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, so check the National Weather Service before any coastal detour. Pro tip: avoid downtown Savannah's River Street area in any rig over 25 feet and park at a designated RV lot instead.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Hinesville?

Coastal Georgia campgrounds make RV life genuinely comfortable. Most parks near Hinesville offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, and sewer), modern bathhouses with hot showers, laundry, and on-site dump stations. Fort McAllister State Park has electric and water at every campsite plus a centralized dump station, Skidaway Island State Park provides electric and water sites with a camp store, and Savannah South KOA offers full hookups and resort-style amenities. Potable water fill-ups are available at every state park entrance station. Pro tip: if you're staying somewhere without sewer hookups, the dump station at Fort McAllister is available to registered campers, and Flying J in Midway has a public dump and freshwater fill just off I-95.

Many also include a flat-screen TV, generator, outdoor awning, and Bluetooth stereo. Wi-Fi varies by host, but you can filter or message to confirm. Pro tip: check each listing's amenities list and photos closely, and if you want a specific extra like a backup camera or solar panels, simply message your host before booking.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book an RV rental in Hinesville on RVezy, you pay through the platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, which protects both sides of the transaction. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (amounts vary by listing and are shown clearly before you confirm) and released back to you after the trip, assuming the RV is returned in the same condition. Do a quick walkthrough video with your host at pickup and again at dropoff to keep things smooth. Pro tip: top off fuel and propane before returning and empty the tanks at a designated dump station so your deposit comes back fast and stress-free.
