We had a fantastic experience with Obi’s RV. It is a great RV, in excellent condition and really easy to drive and stay in. It is comfortable and spacious and Obi’s communication was excellent. Both he and his wife are lovely people and were incredibly helpful and thoughtful throughout the whole experience from booking through to return. I would highly recommend.

What kind of fuel mileage should I expect, and what does gas cost near Clinton, MD?

Realistic expectations make budgeting easy. Campervans (Class B) get about 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, Class A coaches run 6 to 10 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 MPG combined). Gas prices in the Clinton/D.C. metro area typically run slightly above the national average, so it's worth filling up in southern Maryland on Route 301 where prices dip a bit. Pro tip: download GasBuddy and plan your fill-ups in Waldorf or La Plata heading south, not inside the Beltway. You'll save 20 to 40 cents per gallon, which adds up fast on a 16-gallon-plus tank.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Clinton, MD?

For the best campgrounds near Clinton, MD, aim to reserve 2 to 3 months ahead for summer weekends and holidays, and 3 to 4 weeks ahead for spring and fall. Louise F. Cosca Regional Park books through the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) reservation system, Cedarville State Forest uses Maryland State Parks reservations (reserveamerica), and federal sites like Greenbelt Park use Recreation.gov. Pro tip: if Cosca is full, check Cedarville midweek — it's quieter, set in 3,500 acres of pine forest, and often has openings even on short notice. Booking your RV first and the campground second is the most common mistake, so reverse it when possible.

Avoid driving large RVs through downtown D.C. — many parkways like Rock Creek and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway have commercial-vehicle and height restrictions. Pro tip: if city driving makes you nervous, choose RV delivery Clinton, MD and let the host bring the rig to your campsite. You're also only 90 minutes from the Blue Ridge Mountains and 2 hours from the Chesapeake beaches — nature is closer than you think.
