Can I take my Cape May Court House RV rental into other states or Canada?

Yes, a multi-state RV road trip from Cape May Court House is totally doable and one of the joys of renting here. You're surrounded by classic Northeast destinations: Delaware via the Cape May Lewes Ferry (about 85 minutes across the bay), Philadelphia (95 miles), Washington DC (190 miles), and the Outer Banks (about 300 miles). Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the specific host and insurance terms, so message before booking if that's your plan. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: confirm cross-state travel and any ferry size restrictions with your host upfront, the Cape May Lewes Ferry accommodates most RVs but charges by length, so check dimensions before you roll up.

What should I budget for fuel on a Cape May RV trip?

Fuel is one of the easier line items to plan here. New Jersey gas prices typically sit close to the national average, and as a bonus, attendants pump it for you, it's the only U.S. state where self-service at most stations isn't allowed. Class B campervans get around 18 to 22 mpg, Class C motorhomes average 10 to 14 mpg, and larger Class A rigs run 7 to 10 mpg. For a typical 4-night Cape May Court House RV trip with 300 miles of driving, budget roughly $80 to $200 in fuel depending on rig size. Pro tip: fill up off-island at stations along Route 9 in Rio Grande or Marmora before heading into Cape May, prices tend to be lower than at the southern tip.
nj.gov/mvc/vehicles/fuel.htm

How far ahead should I book a campground near Cape May Court House?

Earlier is better, Cape May is one of the most popular shore destinations in New Jersey. For summer weekends in July and August, book 4 to 6 months ahead at private parks like Seashore Campsites and Beachcomber Camping Resort. Belleplain State Forest reservations open through the New Jersey State Park Service reservation system and fill quickly for holiday weekends. Shoulder-season trips in May or September often have availability just a few weeks out. Pro tip: if your dream campground is full, ask your host about RV delivery to a friend's driveway or a less-known county park, sometimes the most relaxing spot isn't the busiest one, and you'll still be 15 minutes from the beach.
newjerseystateparks.reserveamerica.com/

What are local driving conditions like around Cape May Court House?

Driving here is mostly relaxed and RV-friendly. The Garden State Parkway runs right through Cape May County with wide lanes and clearly marked exits, though Friday and Sunday summer traffic can crawl. Route 9 and Route 47 are great alternates, watch for low clearances near some shore towns. Avoid Sunset Boulevard's narrow stretches near Cape May Point if you're in a Class A. The terrain is flat coastal plain, so no mountain driving worries. Pro tip: cross the Garden State Parkway toll plazas before 10 a.m. or after 7 p.m. on summer Saturdays to skip the worst beach traffic and roll into your campground stress-free.
njta.com/

What amenities do campgrounds near Cape May Court House offer?

You'll find full-service campgrounds throughout Cape May County. Most private parks like Seashore Campsites, Beachcomber, and Avalon Campground offer 30 and 50 amp electric, fresh water hookups, sewer at premium sites, pools, laundry, and Wi-Fi. Belleplain State Forest provides electric and water at many sites with a centralized dump station. Public dump stations are also available at Cape May County Park & Zoo and several marinas in the area. Pro tip: top off your fresh water tank at the campground before any day trips, water spigots along Cape May's beach roads are limited, and you'll want that supply for outdoor showers after a day at Sunset Beach hunting Cape May diamonds.
capemaycountynj.gov/199/Park-Zoo

What features and amenities come with RVs in Cape May Court House?

More than you might expect. Most RV rentals in Cape May Court House come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave), bathroom with shower and toilet, dinette, air conditioning, propane heat, and seatbelts for travel passengers. Many include a TV, outdoor awning, and Bluetooth stereo, while some offer Wi-Fi hotspots, solar panels, or onboard generators great for boondocking. Campervans are compact but clever, with convertible beds and small wet baths. Pro tip: filter by sleeps count and check the listing photos for outdoor kitchens and beach gear add-ons, perfect for a family RV trip Cape May Court House where you'll spend most of your day between the dunes and the campsite.
capemaycountynj.gov/635/Tourism

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Hosts make it easy to customize your trip. Popular add-ons on Cape May Court House listings include linens and towel packages ($25 to $75), kitchen kits, beach chairs and umbrellas, bikes, generators ($15 to $30 per day), and propane refills. Pickup is usually at the host's location in Cape May Court House, Rio Grande, or surrounding towns, with delivery available to most regional campgrounds for a flat fee. Mileage policies vary, so read the listing carefully or message the host. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a linens package on your first trip, you'll arrive to a fully made-up rig with the awning out and skip the moving-day chaos so you can head straight to Sunset Beach for the flag-lowering ceremony.
capemaycountynj.gov/635/Tourism

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure through RVezy. You'll pay the rental total, taxes, any add-ons, and a refundable security deposit through the platform when you book, no cash or off-platform transfers needed. The security deposit is held separately from your booking payment, set by the host, and typically ranges from $500 to $1,500. It's released after your trip ends, assuming no damage or policy issues. Pro tip: take a quick video walkaround of the RV with your host at pickup and again at drop-off, this two-minute habit protects everyone and helps your deposit return quickly after your Cape May Court House getaway wraps up.
