2024 Jayco Travel Trailer
Dalton's Jayco is the perfect option for a small family. There's plenty of sleeping options for the kids, and the tub is a great bonus for bath time. The camper is well maintained and everything was functional. Delivery and pick up to the site went smoothly. We're hoping it's available next year too!

There was a grounding issue between the 5000W inverter and the trailer. Ryan (trailer owner) was very responsive when contacted, troubleshot the issue quickly, kept the communication during the rental period great, and was very flexible with delivery and pickup. I was very impressed with my rental experience with Ryan I would rent from him again

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Ridley Park, PA
How much does an RV rental in Ridley Park, PA actually cost?
Good news: an RV rental in Ridley Park is one of the more budget-friendly ways to explore the Philadelphia region. Travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes run $175 to $275, and larger Class A motorhomes range from $250 to $400 nightly. Hosts in the Ridley Park area often discount weekly rates, and shoulder-season trips in April or October usually shave 15 to 25 percent off summer pricing. Pro tip: filter for travel trailers if you want a cheap RV rental Ridley Park families love. You will get more space for less, especially if you pair it with a host who offers delivery to a nearby campground.
visitphilly.com/things-to-do/regions/countryside/Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Ridley Park?
Great news for first-time renters: your regular Pennsylvania Class C driver's license (or equivalent from your home state) is all you need for nearly every RV on RVezy. Pennsylvania only requires an upgraded non-commercial license for motorhomes rated over 26,000 pounds, which is well above the weight of standard Class C motorhomes, campervans, and travel trailers listed on the platform. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit along with your home license. Approved RVezy renters are generally 25 or older, and ID verification is handled right inside the booking flow so you can lock in your Ridley Park RV trip in just a few clicks.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection and roadside support comes with my booking?
Every RV rental in Ridley Park booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head out on I-95 or the Blue Route (I-476) with confidence. You choose your protection level at checkout (Standard, Premium, or Peace of Mind), and each tier covers damage to the RV during your trip at different deductible levels. Roadside assistance is included with every plan, so if you get a flat on the way to Cape May or need a jump at a campground near Media, one call gets help dispatched day or night.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if my plans change after I book?
You can book your Ridley Park RV rental with confidence because RVezy sets the cancellation policy across the platform, not individual hosts. Every booking includes a short grace period right after you book during which you can cancel for a full refund. Beyond that, the refund amount depends on how far out you are from your trip start date. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or helps you rebook with travel credits. Full details are in the RVezy Help Center, and customer support is available before, during, and after your trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Ridley Park?
Absolutely, dogs are welcome on many Ridley Park rentals. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to instantly see a curated list of pet-friendly RV rental Ridley Park hosts who allow furry co-pilots (some charge a small pet fee, which is shown upfront). Once you arrive, your pup will love nearby off-leash favorites like Ridley Creek State Park's multi-use trails in Newtown Square, the leash-friendly paths at Tyler Arboretum in Media, and the riverside walkways at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge just minutes away. Pro tip: message a few hosts before booking to confirm pet specifics like size limits, and you will be set for a stress-free trip with your dog.
dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/RidleyCreekStatePark/Pages/default.aspxCan the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway?
Yes, RV delivery is one of the most popular options for a Ridley Park RV trip, especially for first-timers who would rather not drive a big rig out of a tight suburban street. Many hosts will deliver, level, and set up the RV at your chosen campground (popular nearby picks include Philadelphia South/Clarksboro KOA, Philadelphia/West Chester KOA, and Tohickon Family Campground in Quakertown) and walk you through everything from the awning to the water heater. Just filter for Delivery on RVezy and enter your destination to see real delivery fees, which hosts typically quote as a flat fee or per mile. It is the easiest way to enjoy a motorhome rental in Ridley Park without ever touching the wheel.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038794753-Delivery-optionsHow far can I realistically drive from Ridley Park on my trip?
You have an incredible range of road trip options within a half-day drive. Popular routes for an RV road trip from Ridley Park include the Jersey Shore via Cape May (about 90 miles, under 2 hours), the Pocono Mountains (about 120 miles, 2 hours), Lancaster County Amish Country (about 65 miles, 75 minutes), Gettysburg National Military Park (about 140 miles, 2.5 hours), and Assateague Island's wild ponies (about 150 miles, 3 hours). Mileage policies vary by host, with daily caps typically between 100 and 200 miles, plus a per-mile fee beyond that. Want flexibility? Filter for RV rental with unlimited mileage on RVezy to roam without watching the odometer.
visitpa.com/regions/philadelphia-and-its-countrysideWhere are the best campgrounds near Ridley Park to park my RV?
You have excellent options within an hour of town. Philadelphia South/Clarksboro KOA (about 12 miles south across the Delaware River in NJ) offers full hookups, a pool, and easy I-295 access. Philadelphia/West Chester KOA Holiday in Coatesville (about 19 miles west) sits along the Brandywine and has full hookups, a dump station, and laundry. Tohickon Family Campground in Quakertown (about 50 miles north) is a classic full-hookup pick. For a state-park feel, French Creek State Park near Elverson (about 40 miles northwest) is the family RV camping alternative recommended by Pennsylvania State Parks. Note: Ridley Creek State Park itself is group-camping only and does not offer individual RV sites.
dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/RidleyCreekStatePark/Pages/Camping.aspxWhen is the best time of year to take an RV trip from Ridley Park?
Late April through October is prime time for RV camping Ridley Park, with the sweet spots being May, June, September, and early October. Summer (June-August) brings warm 80-90°F days perfect for the Jersey Shore, though humidity peaks in July and August. Fall foliage explodes in mid-October along the Brandywine Valley and the Poconos, easily the most photogenic season for an RV trip. Spring shoulder weeks offer mild 60-70°F temperatures and lower rates. Winter trips are possible with a four-season RV (snow is occasional, averaging 22 inches a season), but most local campgrounds close from November through March. Pro tip: book Memorial Day and July 4th rentals at least 3 months out.
weather.gov/phi/I have never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?
You'll be in great shape, and first time renting an RV is more common than you'd think on RVezy. Every host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering the dashboard, slide-outs, generator, water systems, and dump procedures, so nothing is left to guesswork. Many Ridley Park hosts also send a video orientation in advance. Smart picks for newbies: a Class C motorhome (drives like a big van) or a small travel trailer under 22 feet. Avoid your first drive at rush hour on I-95 or the Schuylkill Expressway, and skip narrow downtown Philly streets entirely. Pro tip: pick a delivery host for your first trip so you can focus on the camping, not the driving.
penndot.pa.gov/TravelInPA/Safety/Pages/Drivers.aspxWhat happens if something breaks down during my trip?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance through the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on the New Jersey Turnpike, a dead battery at Cape May, or a tow off Route 1 is one phone call away. Your host is also your first text-message lifeline for quirky questions like resetting the water pump or relighting the fridge pilot. RVezy customer support is available throughout your trip if anything escalates. Pro tip: snap a phone photo of your host's emergency contact info and the roadside assistance number during your pickup walkthrough so you have it ready even if cell service dips in the Poconos.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take the RV across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, crossing into neighboring states is fine and very popular from Ridley Park, since you are minutes from Delaware and New Jersey. The Jersey Shore, Delaware beaches, and even New England are fair game on most rentals. Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and the protection package, so message the host directly from the listing before booking if a cross-border trip is in your plans. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because protection coverage does not extend there. Pro tip: an RV road trip from Ridley Park up the Hudson Valley to the Adirondacks makes a stunning week-long itinerary.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on a Pennsylvania RV trip?
Easy to plan for. Pennsylvania gas prices typically run 20 to 40 cents above the national average due to one of the country's highest state fuel taxes (around 57 to 59 cents per gallon). Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), Class A coaches get 6 to 10 MPG, and campervans (Class B) often hit 15 to 20 MPG. For a 400-mile weekend loop in a Class C, expect roughly $150 to $200 in fuel. Pro tip: Wawa and Sheetz stations across the Philadelphia suburbs are reliably cheaper than highway plazas, and filling up Monday or Tuesday usually saves a few cents per gallon over weekend prices.
eia.gov/dnav/pet/pet_pri_gnd_dcus_spa_w.htmHow far ahead should I book a campground in this area?
For peak summer weekends (Memorial Day through Labor Day), aim to reserve 3 to 6 months ahead, especially for Jersey Shore favorites like Driftwood Camping Resort in Clermont or Big Timber Lake in Cape May, and Pennsylvania State Park sites bookable through the ReserveAmerica system 11 months in advance. Private campgrounds like the two nearby KOAs often have last-minute openings midweek. For fall foliage trips through the Brandywine Valley or Poconos, 6 to 8 weeks out is usually plenty. Pro tip: weekday arrivals (Sunday through Wednesday) are easier to book and frequently cheaper, and they give you quieter campfires under the stars.
pennsylvaniastateparks.reserveamerica.com/What are local driving conditions like around Ridley Park?
Driving an RV around Ridley Park is very doable once you know what to skip. I-95, I-476 (the Blue Route), and US-322 are wide, RV-friendly, and your best arteries out of town. What to avoid: the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) during rush hour, downtown Philadelphia's narrow streets and low Center City parking garages (many have 6'8" clearances, way too low), and the historic stone bridges on some back roads in Chester County. Center City is just 12 miles north but is not where you want to drive a 25-foot motorhome. Pro tip: use the PennDOT 511PA app for live traffic and any height-restricted route alerts before you roll.
511pa.com/What amenities should I expect at campgrounds near Ridley Park?
You will find a great range. Most private campgrounds in the area (Philadelphia South/Clarksboro KOA, Philadelphia/West Chester KOA, Tohickon Family Campground) offer full hookups, meaning 30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer right at your site, plus dump stations, potable water fills, hot showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, and pools. State park options like French Creek typically offer electric-only sites with shared bathhouses and centralized dump stations. Need to dump or refill water mid-trip? Most KOAs allow non-guest dump-station use for a small fee (usually $10-$20). Pro tip: book a pull-through site if you are new to RVing, you will skip the backing-in stress entirely.
dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/FrenchCreekStatePark/Pages/default.aspxWhat features and amenities come inside the RVs?
Even modest rentals on RVezy come surprisingly well-equipped. Expect a real bed (or two), a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control (roof AC and propane furnace), and dining/lounge seating that often converts to extra beds. Most Class C and Class A motorhomes include a generator, awning, TV, and seatbelted seats for travel. Many Ridley Park hosts add Wi-Fi hotspots, outdoor speakers, camp chairs, and starter kits with linens and kitchenware as add-ons. Pro tip: in your pre-booking message, ask the host for the exact sleeps count with seatbelts, since the number of people who can sleep in an RV is sometimes higher than the number who can legally ride in it.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/seat-beltsWhat add-ons and mileage policies should I look for when comparing listings?
Comparing listings is easier when you know what to scan for. Popular add-ons among Ridley Park hosts include generator hours, propane refills, linen and kitchen kits, bike racks, outdoor grills, camp chairs, and pet cleaning fees (typically $25 to $75 per item or per trip). Mileage policies usually fall into three buckets: unlimited (best for long Pocono or Jersey Shore loops), a daily cap of 100-200 miles with overage fees of $0.30 to $0.50 per mile, or flat-rate weekly mileage. Pickup and dropoff windows are set per listing; some hosts offer flexible times or even airport pickup near PHL, which is only 5 miles from Ridley Park. Pro tip: tally add-ons before booking to compare true total cost.
phl.org/How does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and fully handled through RVezy. You pay securely on the platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit is placed as a hold on your card before the trip (amounts vary by RV type and value) and is released after the host confirms the RV came back in good shape, typically within a few days of return. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkaround with the host at pickup and dropoff and take date-stamped phone photos of the interior and exterior. Pro tip: returning the RV clean and with the fuel and propane levels you started with is the easiest way to get your full deposit back fast.
