Diego was great!. Was my first time renting a traveling trailer and using the site. I was a little nervous to rent cause you dont know what will happen. I didnt calculate the correct size truck for the trailer. Diego was a problem solver and helped me solve my issue. He went out of his way to deliver the trailer to the campsite and pick it up when done. He did a lot more to accommodate the situation and went above and beyond to make this trip meaningful. I had two family members pass away last year, and extended family for the first time planned this camping trip together and it was very important we went and that I had a trailer for my family of 6. Diego made sure the trip went through and got the rental up there for us. Means a lot! I see why he is a super host and is just a great soul. Thanks Diego we will be renting from you again and again.

We had a wonderful time staying in this RV for our Lagoon trip. Everything was setup up beautifully when we arrived and felt very inviting - little details like nice decor and the outdoor setup with a large rug and nice camp chairs made a noticeable difference. The rv was very clean and all beds made meticulously (we have not had this experience with all rentals - oftentimes the bunks are not made and/or sheets not provided when we were told sheets included). Appreciate Lincoln being responsive but at the same time very laid back (not 100s of questions as we have had before, adding stress). Would definitely rent again!

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Clearfield?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Clearfield, UT. There is no commercial driver's license (CDL) or RV endorsement required in Utah for any motorhome you will find on RVezy, whether it is a nimble Class B campervan or a 35-foot Class A. RVezy approved drivers are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and your ID is verified through the platform during checkout. Visiting from overseas? Is my Clearfield RV rental protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, every RV rental in Clearfield, UT booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit I-15 with real peace of mind. RVezy offers multiple protection plan tiers, and you choose your coverage level during checkout (not the host), so you can match it to your comfort and budget. The plan helps cover damage to the RV during your trip, with details and limits outlined in the plan you select. Pro tip: consider a higher-tier plan if you are tackling steep Wasatch canyon roads like Ogden Canyon or Trappers Loop, that way you can focus on the views, not the what-ifs.

You are in good hands: RVezy applies a standard cancellation policy to every booking, so the rules are consistent across every listing in Clearfield. Guests generally get a full refund if they cancel within a short grace-period window after booking, and partial refunds may apply depending on how far out from your trip you cancel. If a host cancels on you, RVezy issues a refund or travel credit so your plans stay protected. Pro tip: book early to lock in the rig you want for Antelope Island weekends or Hill Air Force Base air show dates, knowing the cancellation terms are clearly explained before you confirm.

Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental in Clearfield is easy to find on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search, and you'll see dozens of owners who happily welcome four-legged co-pilots (some charge a small pet fee, which is shown upfront on the listing). Clearfield is a fantastic launchpad for dog-loving travelers: Antelope Island State Park allows leashed dogs on the causeway and select beaches, and Adams Canyon Trail in nearby Layton is a local favorite for a quick pup-friendly hike. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm shedding rules and ask about packing tips like throw covers, especially if your dog is a heavy shedder after a Great Salt Lake beach romp.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Clearfield?

Yes, RV delivery in Clearfield is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you're flying into Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) or it's your first time renting an RV. Popular drop-off spots include Cherry Hill Camping Resort in Kaysville, Lagoon RV Park in Farmington, and Century RV Park in Ogden. Delivery fees are usually based on mileage from the host's location. Pro tip: filter listings by Delivery on RVezy and message the host with your campground address to get an exact quote up front.

Where are the best campgrounds near Clearfield, UT?

You will love the camping options just minutes from Clearfield. The best campgrounds near Clearfield include Bridger Bay Campground at Antelope Island State Park (about 20 miles west, famous for bison sightings and Great Salt Lake sunsets), Cherry Hill Camping Resort in Kaysville (full hookups plus a water park, about 10 miles south), Century RV Park in Ogden (about 15 miles north, with concrete pads), and Lagoon RV Park in Farmington (right next to Lagoon Amusement Park). For a more rugged feel, Anderson Cove Campground at Pineview Reservoir is about 25 miles east in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Pro tip: reserve Antelope Island sites as far ahead as possible since summer and full moon weekends fill quickly.

What's the best time of year for a Clearfield RV trip?

Clearfield shines from late May through early October, when daytime highs sit comfortably in the 70s and 80s and nights cool to the 50s and 60s, which is ideal for RV camping in Clearfield. July is the warmest month with average highs around 84°F, while June and September are the sweet spot for fewer crowds and pleasant weather. Winter brings real snow (about 33 inches a year) and overnight lows in the 20s, so cold-weather rigs with heated tanks are your friend if you're chasing Snowbasin or Powder Mountain ski trips. Pro tip: book a September trip to combine warm-weather Antelope Island with the Hill Air Force Base air show that runs in late June some years.

I've never driven an RV. Is this really doable in Clearfield?

Totally doable, and Clearfield is one of the friendlier places in Utah for first-time renting an RV. Your host gives you a full pickup walkthrough covering brakes, mirrors, leveling, propane, and dumping tanks, so you're not left guessing. The streets around Clearfield (Antelope Drive, State Street, 700 South) are wide and flat, and you can practice in big lots near Station Park in Farmington before heading out. Stick to I-15 and US-89 for the easiest driving, and avoid narrow canyon roads like Farmington Canyon on your first day. Pro tip: ask your host about a Class C motorhome rental in Clearfield, they drive like a big van and are the most beginner-friendly option on the platform.

What happens if I break down during my Clearfield RV trip?

Do not sweat it: every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance with the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you are stuck on I-15 near Clearfield, stranded on the Antelope Island Causeway, or up in the Uinta Mountains. The roadside team handles common issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified service center. You can also message your host directly through the RVezy app, since they know their rig best and can troubleshoot small issues like a tripped breaker or a finicky water pump. Pro tip: snap a photo of your VIN and license plate at pickup so you can share details quickly if you ever need to call for help.

Can I take my Clearfield RV rental into other states or Canada?

Yes, an RV road trip from Clearfield to other states is one of the most popular ways to use your rental. Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado are all open destinations, and you can drive to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Zion, or Las Vegas without any extra paperwork. Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed with the host's written approval, so message the host before booking if you are dreaming of Banff or Waterton. Heads up: travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the protection plan does not extend there. Pro tip: the classic 7-day loop from Clearfield hits Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce, and Zion, about 1,100 miles of jaw-dropping scenery.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Clearfield RV trip?

Fuel is one of the easier costs to plan for in Utah. Gas prices in the Clearfield area typically run a bit below the national average, and most Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), while travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 MPG loaded). For a 500-mile weekend loop through Antelope Island and Bear Lake, plan on roughly $150 to $225 in fuel for a midsize motorhome. Pro tip: fill up at the Costco or Maverik stations along Antelope Drive or 700 South before heading out, they're consistently the cheapest in Davis County, and Maverik has wide pull-throughs that handle big rigs easily.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Clearfield?

Book sooner than you think, especially in summer. Utah State Parks like Antelope Island and East Canyon open reservations on a 4-month rolling window through ReserveAmerica's Utah portal, and Friday and Saturday nights from Memorial Day through Labor Day book up within hours of release. National Forest sites in Uinta-Wasatch-Cache (think Bountiful Peak or Anderson Cove) open 6 months ahead on Recreation.gov. Private parks like Cherry Hill and Century RV are easier, usually 2 to 6 weeks out is fine. Pro tip: if you strike out on Antelope Island, try the first-come-first-served overflow at White Rock Bay on a weekday, you'll often score a beachfront site with bison wandering nearby at dawn.
stateparks.utah.gov/reservations/

What are driving conditions like around Clearfield?

Driving an RV around Clearfield is straightforward thanks to flat valley terrain and wide arterials like I-15, US-89, and Antelope Drive. The main thing to watch is wind: the open stretch along the Antelope Island Causeway and northbound I-15 toward Brigham City can get gusty, so reduce speed when you see windsock warnings. In winter, Wasatch canyon roads (Ogden Canyon, Trappers Loop, Parley's Canyon) get snow-packed and may require chains. Avoid the steep, narrow Farmington Canyon Road in any large RV. Pro tip: download the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Traffic app before you leave, it shows real-time wind, snow, and construction alerts on every route you'll likely drive.
udot.utah.gov/connect/public/traffic/

What hookups and amenities do Clearfield campgrounds offer?

You'll find a great mix of campground amenities near Clearfield. Most private parks (Cherry Hill, Century RV, Pony Express, Lagoon RV) offer full hookups including 30/50-amp electric, water, sewer, free Wi-Fi, and laundry. Utah State Park campgrounds like Antelope Island's Bridger Bay have electric and water at many sites but require you to dump on departure, the on-site dump station handles that. For free fresh water and dumping, Clearfield's nearby Maverik on Antelope Drive and the Flying J in Willard both have RV-friendly stations. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking-safe water hose and a surge protector, older Utah State Park pedestals occasionally throw voltage spikes during summer thunderstorms.
stateparks.utah.gov/parks/antelope-island/camping/

What's actually inside a typical Clearfield RV rental?

You'll be impressed at how loaded these rigs are. A typical motorhome rental in Clearfield comes with a full kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with shower and toilet, sleeping for 4 to 8 people depending on size, air conditioning, propane furnace, a TV, and often a backup camera. Many hosts include a generator for boondocking on Antelope Island or in the Uintas, plus outdoor camp chairs, leveling blocks, and basic kitchenware. Seatbelts for every traveling passenger are standard, so confirm sleep count and seatbelt count match your group size. Pro tip: each RVezy listing shows a full amenity checklist, filter by Sleeps 6+ and Generator if you're planning to dry-camp under the stars.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/recreational-vehicle-safety

What add-ons and pickup options are available on a Clearfield RV rental?

Clearfield hosts make it easy to customize your trip. Popular add-ons include linen and bedding packages ($30 to $75), kitchen kits with pots, plates, and utensils ($25 to $60), camp chairs and outdoor rugs, portable generators, bike racks, and tow dollies. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Clearfield, Layton, Syracuse, or Roy, and most hosts offer delivery to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) for an extra fee. Mileage policies, generator-hour limits, and dump-station fees are all shown clearly on each listing before you check out. Pro tip: for a campervan rental in Clearfield, ask about a propane top-off and full fresh-water fill at pickup, two small details that pay big dividends on day one.

How does payment and the security deposit work for a Clearfield RV rental?

Payment is simple and secure on RVezy: you pay your booking total through the platform with a credit card, so you never hand cash to a host. A refundable security deposit is collected separately from your booking payment and is typically held as a pre-authorization on your card, not charged unless there is damage or a policy issue at return. After a clean drop-off, the hold is released back to your card. Pro tip: do a video walkaround with your host at both pickup and return, it is the single best way to avoid any deposit disputes and keeps your family RV trip in Clearfield stress-free.
