2025 Forest River Travel Trailer
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Perfect Land Yacht! (Comfy quarters with none of the seasickness) Megan & Owen's was the RV we didn't know we needed! It was a great home away from home and made us the envy of our camping neighbors (especially when the rain showed up).  It was spacious and comfortable. There was good water pressure and temperature in the shower. The generator worked perfectly, keeping the trailer cool and the refrigerator cold!  The ambient lighting inside and out, along with the outdoor rug added a nice touch. The awning was perfect for us to sit outside and avoid the direct sun...and rain. The indoor/outdoor Bluetooth speakers were also nice. The convenience of control panels (for the lighting, awning, water, climate control and Bluetooth) were high tech enough for sophistication but low tech enough for us to manage. The RV was well-stocked with the necessities -- towels, linens,  dishes, soaps (bathroom and kitchen), toilet paper and even a fan -- lending to the feel of home. We didn't use the outdoor grill THIS time but look forward to using it next time. Owen was a great host and the booking process was seamless and straightforward, with clear communication and helpful tips provided every step of the way. He was very attentive to our questions before, during and after the rental. He dropped off the trailer, set everything up for us and picked it up promptly at our check out time. I can’t recommend this RV rental enough. If you're a seasoned camper or trying RVing for the first time, this is the way to go. We’re already planning our next trip!

They were extremely flexible with pick-up and drop-off, went over the full operation of the RV, and made us feel comfortable and confident. The description, booking booking process, pick-up and return went perfectly. We will definitely be renting this RV again.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Edinburg, VA

How much does an RV rental in Edinburg cost?

RV rentals in Edinburg are among the most affordable in Virginia, with travel trailers often starting around $90 to $140 per night and Class C motorhomes typically running $175 to $275 nightly. Because Edinburg sits in rural Shenandoah County off Interstate 81, you'll generally pay less than rentals closer to Washington, D.C. or Northern Virginia. To find a cheap RV rental in Edinburg, book midweek, travel in April or early November, and filter by Instant Book for last-minute deals. Pro tip: bundle a travel trailer with host delivery to your campground and you'll skip both fuel and parking stress on your first Shenandoah Valley adventure.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Edinburg, VA?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Edinburg, Virginia. The Commonwealth does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or special endorsement for motorhomes or travel trailers used recreationally, regardless of size. To qualify as an RVezy approved driver, you generally need to be 25 or older and complete a quick ID verification during booking. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home country license along with an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto club. Most first-time renters in the Shenandoah Valley are surprised how simple it is to get the keys and hit Route 11.

Is my RV rental in Edinburg protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, every RV rental in Edinburg booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Interstate 81 with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the vehicle, and you choose your coverage level during checkout (not the host) so you can pick what fits your trip and budget. Roadside help is just a phone call away whether you're parked at Creekside Campground or climbing toward Edinburg Gap. It is layered protection built into your booking, backed by host support and the RVezy customer care team.

What is the cancellation policy for an Edinburg RV rental?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every reservation includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. The exact refund you receive depends on how far out you cancel and whether unusual circumstances like a Shenandoah Valley winter storm or hurricane remnants apply. You'll see the full details on the RVezy website before you confirm. Pro tip: if a weather front is rolling over the Blue Ridge, message your host early so you can rebook for a sunnier weekend exploring Shenandoah County wineries.

Can I bring my dog on an Edinburg RV trip?

Absolutely, and you've got plenty of options for a pet-friendly RV rental in Edinburg. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see hosts who welcome dogs, and message them before booking to confirm size or breed preferences. Once you're rolling, Shenandoah River State Park (about 30 minutes north near Bentonville) and the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests both allow leashed dogs on most trails. Stony Creek right in town is a great spot for a quick paw dip after a hike. Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park also welcomes leashed pups, making Edinburg one of the most dog-friendly RV camping basecamps in Virginia.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Edinburg?

Yes, RV delivery in Edinburg is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow a travel trailer or drive a motorhome directly to your campsite at Creekside Campground & RV Park, Cabin Creekwood, or even your private property, then level it, hook up utilities, and walk you through every system. You just show up with your groceries and gear. To book, use the Delivery filter on RVezy and message the host with your destination address so they can confirm distance and any delivery fee. It's the stress-free way to enjoy a Shenandoah Valley RV trip without ever towing.

How far can I drive from Edinburg in an RV?

Edinburg's location right on Interstate 81 makes it a fantastic launchpad for an RV road trip from Edinburg in almost any direction. Shenandoah National Park's northern entrance at Front Royal is about 40 miles north, Luray Caverns sits 25 miles east, Harrisonburg and James Madison University are 35 miles south, and you can reach Washington, D.C. in roughly 95 miles. Want a bigger adventure? New River Gorge National Park in West Virginia is around 240 miles southwest. Most hosts include a daily mileage allowance (typically 100 to 150 miles per night), and a few offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage. Confirm the policy on the listing before you book.

Where are the best campgrounds near Edinburg for RV camping?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Edinburg. Creekside Campground & RV Park sits right on Stony Creek with full hookups and easy I-81 access. Cabin Creekwood in Lyndhurst (about an hour south) offers wooded sites with mountain views. Shenandoah River State Park near Bentonville has 31 RV-friendly sites with electric and water hookups, plus river access. Big Meadows Campground inside Shenandoah National Park (on Skyline Drive) is unbeatable for hiking and stargazing. For a quick weekend, try Outlanders River Camp in Luray, right on the Shenandoah River. Pro tip: reserve state and national park sites early — they fill up fast during peak fall foliage season.

When is the best time to visit Edinburg in an RV?

Edinburg shines from late April through late October, with the absolute peak being mid-October when the Shenandoah Valley's fall foliage lights up the Massanutten and Blue Ridge mountains in red and gold. Spring (April to early June) brings wildflowers and daytime highs in the 60s and 70s Fahrenheit, summer (July to August) climbs into the upper 80s with occasional thunderstorms, and fall offers crisp 50 to 70 degree days perfect for campfires. Winters are cool with highs in the 40s and overnight lows often below freezing, so confirm heated tanks with your host if you're going December through February. Insider tip: book before April for the third weekend in September Edinburg Ole' Time Festival.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I know what I'm doing?

You'll feel ready faster than you think. First time renting an RV in Edinburg is genuinely easy because every host on RVezy provides a hands-on orientation at pickup or delivery, walking you through the propane, water, electrical, slide-outs, and dump systems before you drive a foot. You can message your host with questions before booking, during your trip, and afterward. Plus, RVezy customer support and 24/7 roadside assistance are a phone call away. If you're nervous about driving, pick a travel trailer with delivery to a local campground like Creekside or choose a smaller Class B campervan rental in Edinburg, both of which handle much like an oversized SUV.

What happens if my RV breaks down during my trip?

You're never on your own. Every motorhome rental in Edinburg booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering flat tires, jump starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing if needed. If something goes sideways on I-81 near Mount Jackson or on a winding Skyline Drive curve, just call the number in your booking confirmation and help is dispatched. Your host is also a direct text away for quick questions about quirks specific to their RV. The RVezy support team handles everything else, so even a worst-case scenario becomes a manageable detour rather than a trip-ender.

Can I take my Edinburg RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, your Edinburg RV rental is built for interstate adventure. West Virginia is about 40 minutes west, and Maryland and Pennsylvania are easy day-trip distances up I-81. Many hosts permit travel throughout the continental U.S., and cross-border trips to Canada may also be allowed, but confirm directly with the host before booking since insurance and protection terms can vary. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because coverage doesn't extend there. Popular multi-state routes from Edinburg include the Shenandoah-to-Smoky Mountains run down I-81 to Tennessee and the Civil War history loop through Gettysburg, Antietam, and Harpers Ferry. Always share your route with your host so they can plan accordingly.

How much should I budget for fuel on an Edinburg RV trip?

Fuel is one of the easier costs to plan for on a Shenandoah Valley RV trip. Travel trailers don't burn extra gas beyond your tow vehicle's appetite, Class B campervans average 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes run 8 to 12 MPG, and big Class A rigs sit around 6 to 10 MPG. Virginia gas prices typically run slightly below the national average. For a 300-mile weekend loop from Edinburg to Shenandoah National Park and back, budget roughly $80 to $150 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up at the Sheetz or Liberty stations in Woodstock or Mount Jackson, where prices tend to beat highway exits.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Edinburg?

For the best Edinburg RV trip, book campgrounds as soon as your dates are locked, especially for weekends between May and October. Shenandoah National Park campgrounds (Big Meadows, Mathews Arm, Loft Mountain) open reservations 6 months in advance through Recreation.gov and fill up quickly for fall foliage weekends in October. Virginia State Parks like Shenandoah River State Park accept reservations 11 months out through the Virginia State Parks reservation system. Private parks like Creekside Campground & RV Park usually have more flexibility, even a few weeks out. Insider tip: Sunday through Thursday nights are far easier to grab, and many hosts offer discounted weekly rates that make midweek stays a great value.

What is driving an RV around Edinburg actually like?

Driving conditions around Edinburg are refreshingly friendly for RVs. Interstate 81 runs right past town with wide lanes and gentle grades, US Route 11 (the old Valley Pike) is flat and scenic, and most secondary roads on the valley floor are easy to navigate. The mountain stuff is where it gets fun: Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park has a 35 MPH speed limit and a low-clearance tunnel at Mary's Rock (about 12 feet 8 inches), so taller Class A rigs should plan an alternate route. Take it slow on grades, use lower gears for descents, and you'll enjoy some of the most scenic driving in Virginia.
nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/driving-skyline-drive.htm

What hookups and amenities will I find at Edinburg-area campgrounds?

Edinburg-area campgrounds are well-equipped for a smooth RV stay. Creekside Campground & RV Park offers full hookups (30 and 50 amp electric, water, sewer) plus Wi-Fi and laundry. Shenandoah River State Park has electric and water hookups at most RV sites with a centralized dump station and potable water fill. Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park is more rustic with no hookups but offers a dump station, potable water, flush toilets, and a camp store. For dumping and fresh water between stops, the Flying J truck stop at the Mount Jackson I-81 exit (just 10 minutes north of Edinburg) is a reliable option. Always confirm site length, your RV easily fits the typical 35 to 45 foot sites.
dcr.virginia.gov/state-parks/shenandoah-river

What's inside a typical Edinburg RV rental?

Expect more comfort than you'd guess. A typical RV rental in Edinburg comes with a queen or king bed, a full kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink, cookware), a bathroom with toilet and shower, dinette and couch that convert to extra sleeping space, air conditioning, furnace heat, and seatbelts for travel. Most rigs include a TV, and many hosts offer Wi-Fi hotspots, generators, outdoor speakers, and awnings. Planning a family RV trip from Edinburg? Filter for the sleeps count you need (sleeps 4, 6, or 8) and check the listing photos and amenities list. Pro tip: message the host about included linens, kitchen kits, and camp chairs, many provide them free or as low-cost add-ons.

What add-ons and pickup options should I expect?

Edinburg hosts offer plenty of ways to customize your trip. Common add-ons include linen and bedding packages ($30 to $75), kitchen kits ($20 to $50), generators for off-grid camping ($15 to $30 per night), bike racks, outdoor grills, camp chairs, and propane top-offs. Pickup is usually at the host's address in or near Edinburg, Woodstock, or Mount Jackson, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough. Many hosts also offer RV delivery in Edinburg to campgrounds within a set radius (often free up to 20 miles, then a per-mile fee beyond). Mileage policies typically allow 100 to 150 free miles per night, with extra miles charged at $0.30 to $0.45 each, and a handful of listings offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage.

How does payment and the security deposit work for an Edinburg RV rental?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book your RV rental in Edinburg, VA, you pay through RVezy with a credit or debit card, no cash or off-platform transfers needed. A refundable security deposit is held separately on your card before your trip (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) to cover any potential damage, excess mileage, or cleaning beyond normal use. Assuming everything is returned in good shape, the hold is released within a few days of trip end. Pro tip: do a quick walkthrough video with your host at pickup and dropoff, document the odometer, tanks, and exterior, and you'll have zero surprises when that deposit comes back.

Where can I park or overnight in an RV around Edinburg?

Knowing where to park an RV in Edinburg keeps your trip stress-free. Overnight parking on town streets isn't permitted, so plan to stay at a campground, RV park, or a host's private property. Walmart in Woodstock (10 minutes north) and the Flying J at the Mount Jackson exit are known overnight-friendly stops for one-night travelers, though always call ahead to confirm. For day visits to downtown Edinburg, the Edinburg Mill lot on US Route 11 has space for larger vehicles. Insider tip: Shenandoah County is dotted with Harvest Hosts wineries and farms (like Shenandoah Vineyards just south of town) where self-contained RVs can park overnight free with a small purchase.
