2021 Gulf Stream Travel Trailer
The success of platforms like RVezy depends on people, not just campers. We found in Lena a host who was quick to respond, thorough, accommodating and pleasant. Arranging for pickup was easy, and her complete walkthrough of towing hookup and campground setup was very helpful. She has the unit fully outfitted with everything needed for sleeping, cooking and showering, etc. We had set aside a number of items to bring that we were able to leave at home. There's even a red binder inside with instructions for all the systems, While the camper is a couple years old, it's really only the outside that shows any minor wear from normal exposure to the elements. Everything worked as we needed it to. In all, this was a great solution for our annual group camping trip, this year to Willow River State Park. Highly recommend this host.

Responses were slow and confusing thru app was told our camper was gone and had to get a much larger one, but when i showed up the original one we booked was there, call or text them directly responded much faster, but was able to pick up and drop off with flexible times and the camper was in decent shape with minor cosmetic flaws.

What license do I need to rent an RV in St. Croix Falls?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Wisconsin, no Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement required, even for the largest Class A motorhomes on the platform. You'll just need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy will verify your ID through the booking process as part of the approved driver requirements. Visiting from outside the US? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country's auto association along with your home license. Most first-time renters are surprised how quickly the verification step wraps up so you can focus on planning your route along the St. Croix River.

What happens if I need to cancel my St. Croix Falls RV trip?

Booking is low risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not the host), and there's a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. If a Wisconsin blizzard, flooding along the St. Croix, or another disruption affects your plans, RVezy support is there to help sort things out. Pro tip: secure your RV early for fall color weekends in October, then finalize campground reservations once your booking is confirmed.

When is the best time to rent an RV in St. Croix Falls?

Late May through mid-October is prime season for an RV rental in Wisconsin's St. Croix Valley, but each window has its own magic. June and July bring warm days in the upper 70s to mid-80s°F and long evenings perfect for paddling. Many hosts in the area even start renters with smaller, easy-to-drive Class C motorhomes or travel trailers under 25 feet that handle Highway 35 and the curves into Interstate State Park with ease. Pro tip: do a 10-minute parking practice in an empty lot before heading out, confidence built.

Expect about 8-10 MPG for a Class C motorhome, 10-13 MPG for a campervan rental in St. Croix Falls, and 12-18 MPG for a tow vehicle pulling a travel trailer. A 200-mile round trip to Duluth and back? Roughly $80-$120 in fuel for most rigs. Pro tip: fill up in St. Croix Falls or Osceola before heading into the Northwoods, prices climb the further you get from the interstate.

Wisconsin State Parks (including Interstate State Park) use the Wisconsin DNR reservation system and release sites 11 months in advance, and the riverside electric sites at Interstate go quickly. Private parks like Wildwood typically open bookings 6-12 months ahead. Weekday stays in May or late September are often available just a week out. Pro tip: if Interstate is full, check St. Croix National Scenic Riverway's first-come, first-served sites for a more spontaneous adventure.

What are the driving conditions like around St. Croix Falls?

Driving in and around St. Croix Falls is refreshingly relaxed compared to big-city RV navigation. Highway 8 and Highway 35 are well-maintained two-lane roads with gentle curves through farmland and forest, perfect for first-time RV drivers. The bridge crossing the St. Croix River into Taylors Falls, MN has a slight grade but no issues for standard RVs. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk (especially on County Road S), and be aware that winter conditions from November through March can include ice and snow on rural roads. Pro tip: avoid Highway 8 westbound on Sunday evenings in summer, that's when Twin Cities cabin traffic heads home.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure. You pay through RVezy's platform at the time of booking with a credit card, no cash exchanged with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (typically $500-$1,500 depending on the RV) and is released back to you after the trip assuming no damage. Pro tip: use a credit card with travel protection for the booking, it's an easy extra layer of confidence on top of RVezy's included protection plan.
