Carlos went out of his way to make everything work. It was an especially crowded weekend in Miami with a lot of traffic, and Carlos delivered the RV like a professional. The RV itself, is extremely accommodating. Our favorite part where the wonderful meals we had. My family really enjoyed it. Everything was as described or better. It came with bedding, and everything you need for a wonderful experience. Everything was perfectly clean, and smelled good, etc. Don't take that for granted, sometimes RVs have a little smell to them. Carlos keeps this one smelling fantastic. It was clean, it was nice, and I would highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Cutler Bay, FL

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Cutler Bay, FL?

RV rental in Cutler Bay is more affordable than you might expect, with most rigs starting around $125 to $185 per night depending on size and season. Travel trailers tend to be the cheapest RV rental in Cutler Bay, while Class A motorhomes and luxury fifth wheels sit at the higher end. You'll find the best deals from May through early November, when South Florida's wet season thins out the snowbird crowd and Miami-Dade hosts often lower their nightly rates. To stretch your budget further, book mid-week, look for listings with unlimited mileage, and message hosts directly about weekly discounts. Pro tip: bundle a Cutler Bay RV trip with a Florida Keys getaway and you'll get more value per mile than a hotel stay in Key Largo.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Cutler Bay?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Cutler Bay, FL. Florida does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for personal motorhomes, campervans, or travel trailers rented through RVezy. You'll need to be 25 or older and complete RVezy's quick approved driver verification before your trip starts. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home country's driver's license along with an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local automobile association, and you're set. Most first-time renters in Miami-Dade are surprised how simple the paperwork is, so you can spend less time on logistics and more time planning your drive down to the Keys.

If a host has to cancel on you, RVezy will help you rebook or refund your trip. Pro tip: hurricane season in South Florida runs June 1 to November 30, so monitor National Hurricane Center forecasts and contact RVezy support early if a named storm threatens your travel dates.

Absolutely, many owners offer pet-friendly RV rental in Cutler Bay, and your pup will love the trip as much as you do. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see only listings that welcome dogs (some hosts charge a small cleaning fee or refundable pet deposit, which is shown upfront). Most Florida State Parks, including John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo, allow leashed dogs in campgrounds and on designated trails. Many local hosts will bring the motorhome or travel trailer straight to your driveway, a nearby campground like Miami Everglades RV Resort in Homestead, or even the trailhead at Biscayne National Park's Convoy Point. They'll set it up, hook into water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Use the Delivery filter when searching to see listings that offer this service. When is the best time to rent an RV in Cutler Bay?

The sweet spot for an RV rental in Cutler Bay, FL is December through April, the dry season, when daytime highs sit around 75 to 80°F, humidity drops, and afternoon thunderstorms are rare. This is also peak tourist season for South Florida, so book early. May through October is the wet season with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s°F and dramatic afternoon storms, but RV rates often drop and campgrounds are easier to score. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, with peak risk August through October, so keep an eye on National Hurricane Center forecasts if you travel then. For the best balance of weather, prices, and crowds, target April or November.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be able to handle it?

Yes, and you're in great company. Most first-time renters in Cutler Bay find the experience smoother than expected. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup (or at delivery, if they're bringing the RV to you), walking through the propane, water system, slide-outs, leveling, and dump procedure. You can also message your host any time during the trip with questions. For Cutler Bay newcomers, start with a smaller Class C motorhome or a campervan rental, take an easy first night at Larry and Penny Thompson Park, then head south to the Keys once you're comfortable. Pro tip: practice backing into a regular parking spot before your first campground turn.

What happens if I break down during my Cutler Bay RV trip?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, whether you're parked at Black Point Marina or stuck on the shoulder of US-1 in the Keys. One phone call gets help dispatched for flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and mechanical issues. The South Florida heat can be tough on tires and batteries, so check both during your host's walkthrough. You can also reach RVezy's customer support team before, during, and after your trip through the Help Center. Pro tip: snap a photo of the RV's VIN and your roadside number before you leave the driveway, it makes any call go faster.

Can I take my Cutler Bay RV rental on a road trip to the Keys or across state lines?

Yes, an RV road trip from Cutler Bay is one of the best ways to see South Florida, and most hosts welcome travel across Florida and into neighboring states like Georgia and Alabama. The classic drive is south on US-1 to Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, and Key West (about 155 miles one-way). You can also head north to St. Augustine (about 340 miles) or west along Tamiami Trail to Naples (about 115 miles) and the Gulf Coast. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. If you want to take an unusually long route or cross any border, message the host before booking to confirm. Most are happy to say yes.

How much will fuel cost on a Cutler Bay RV trip?

Budgeting for fuel is easier than you'd think. Class B campervans and small travel trailers in Cutler Bay typically get 15 to 20 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and larger Class A rigs sit around 6 to 10 MPG. Florida gas prices generally track close to the U.S. average, and you'll find competitive pricing at warehouse club stations in Kendall and Wawa stations along US-1. For a round trip from Cutler Bay to Key West (about 310 miles), expect roughly $80 to $150 in fuel depending on the RV size. Pro tip: fill up before you cross into the Keys, prices climb noticeably south of Florida City.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Cutler Bay?

Book early and you'll get the spot you actually want. For winter trips (December through April), reserve campgrounds 6 to 11 months in advance, especially Flamingo and Long Pine Key inside Everglades National Park (booked through Recreation.gov up to 6 months out) and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo (booked through the Florida State Parks reservation system up to 11 months ahead). Larry and Penny Thompson Park is run by Miami-Dade County Parks and tends to have more weekday availability. Summer and shoulder-season trips are easier, often bookable a few weeks out. Pro tip: set a reminder for the day Florida State Park reservations open, the Keys parks fill within minutes.

What are local driving conditions like around Cutler Bay?

Driving an RV around Cutler Bay is straightforward once you know a few local quirks. US-1 (South Dixie Highway) and the Florida Turnpike (toll road) are the main routes, both flat, well-marked, and RV-friendly. Rush hour northbound toward downtown Miami (7 to 9 a.m.) and southbound returning (4 to 7 p.m.) can be slow, so plan around it. Watch for low clearance under some Metrorail overpasses near Dadeland, so always confirm your RV height before passing under. Summer afternoon thunderstorms can drop visibility fast, just pull over until they pass. The Overseas Highway to Key West has narrow bridges but no real elevation, making it manageable for first-time drivers.

What amenities do campgrounds near Cutler Bay offer?

Most full-service campgrounds near Cutler Bay come loaded with the essentials and then some. Miami Everglades RV Resort and Goldcoaster RV Resort offer full hookups (water, 30/50 amp electric, sewer), Wi-Fi, swimming pools, laundry, and on-site stores. Larry and Penny Thompson Park has a freshwater lake with a beach, paved bike trails, and bathhouses. Long Pine Key in Everglades National Park has potable water and a dump station but no individual hookups, perfect for boondocking practice. For dump and fill on the road, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park has a dump station available to registered campers. Pro tip: top off fresh water before heading into the Everglades, the next reliable fill is back in Homestead.

Each listing spells out exactly what's included so there are no surprises. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Cutler Bay, Palmetto Bay, or Homestead, with a thorough walkthrough included. Many offer delivery to Miami International Airport (MIA), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), or directly to your campground for a flat fee. Mileage policies vary, plenty of hosts offer unlimited, while others use a per-night cap. Pro tip: ask about a snorkel gear add-on if you're heading to Key Largo.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. You pay through RVezy directly (never cash to the host) using a credit card, and your booking is confirmed once the host accepts. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment for the duration of your trip, with the amount shown on the listing before you book. As long as you return the rig in the agreed condition, with the agreed fuel level and waste tanks emptied (or with the dump fee paid), your deposit is released back to you after the trip. To avoid any issues, take time-stamped photos of the RV inside and out at pickup and drop-off. Pro tip: ask your host where the closest dump station is, Larry and Penny Thompson Park and most South Miami-Dade RV resorts have one available.

You're about 20 minutes from Zoo Miami, 25 minutes from Biscayne National Park's Convoy Point visitor area and boat tours, 40 minutes from Key Largo snorkeling, and about an hour from Everglades National Park airboat operators along Tamiami Trail. Black Point Park & Marina right in Cutler Bay has a kid-friendly waterfront and easy boat launches. Family-friendly campgrounds like Larry and Penny Thompson Park include a swimming pool, freshwater lake beach, and paved bike paths.
