Carlos went out of his way to make everything work. It was an especially crowded weekend in Miami with a lot of traffic, and Carlos delivered the RV like a professional. The RV itself, is extremely accommodating. Our favorite part where the wonderful meals we had. My family really enjoyed it. Everything was as described or better. It came with bedding, and everything you need for a wonderful experience. Everything was perfectly clean, and smelled good, etc. Don't take that for granted, sometimes RVs have a little smell to them. Carlos keeps this one smelling fantastic. It was clean, it was nice, and I would highly recommend.

What if I need to cancel my Golden Glades RV rental?

Booking is low-risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and it includes a grace-period window where you can cancel for a full refund shortly after booking. Cancellation outcomes depend on factors like how far out your trip is and the policy tier selected at booking, which matters in South Florida during the June to November hurricane season. You don't have to read each listing for different rules, the same RVezy cancellation policy applies across the board. Book early to lock in the best Golden Glades RV trip dates, then watch the National Hurricane Center forecast as your trip approaches.

Bring a collapsible water bowl since the humidity hits hard year-round. Message the host before booking to confirm pet fees and any size or breed preferences so check-in goes smoothly.

Delivery is a game-changer if you'd rather skip driving a 30-foot motorhome through the Golden Glades Interchange, one of the busiest junctions in Florida.

When is the best time for an RV trip from Golden Glades?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Golden Glades runs from late October through April, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70s to low 80s F, humidity drops, and mosquitoes ease off, especially in the Everglades. December through March is peak season with the most sunshine but also the highest prices and busiest campgrounds. May and early November are smart shoulder windows: warm, mostly dry, and noticeably cheaper. I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving one out of Golden Glades?

You'll do great, first time renting an RV is easier than most people expect, especially with RVezy. Every host gives you a full orientation walkthrough at pickup covering driving, hookups, slide-outs, generator, and waste tanks, and you can message them throughout your trip with questions. If you'd rather skip South Florida's busy interchanges entirely, book a host who offers delivery and you won't drive the RV until you're already at the campground. The wide, flat roads heading west on Alligator Alley toward Naples are forgiving and scenic for early practice. Choose a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for your first trip, they drive much more like a large van.

What should I budget for fuel on an RV trip from Golden Glades?

Florida gas prices typically hover around $3.20 to $3.60 per gallon, and most rental RVs in Golden Glades get 8 to 12 miles per gallon depending on size, with campervans and tow vehicles for travel trailers on the higher end and Class A motorhomes closer to 7 to 9 mpg. How far in advance should I book campgrounds for my Golden Glades RV trip?

For peak season (December through April), book 4 to 6 months ahead, as South Florida and Keys campgrounds fill faster than almost anywhere in the country. Florida State Parks like Oleta River, Bahia Honda, and Long Key open reservations 11 months in advance through the Florida State Parks reservation system, and Bahia Honda books out within minutes of release. Everglades National Park campgrounds use Recreation.gov with a 6-month booking window. For summer trips, you can often find sites 2 to 4 weeks out. Set a calendar reminder for the exact day your dream Keys campground opens its booking window, log in early and refresh at the top of the hour.

What are the driving conditions like around Golden Glades?

Golden Glades sits at one of Florida's busiest highway interchanges, where I-95, the Florida Turnpike, the Palmetto Expressway (SR-826), and SR-9 meet. It's manageable, but it's smart to avoid weekday rush hours (roughly 7 to 9 AM and 4 to 7 PM) when leaving with a larger RV. Once you're on the Turnpike heading south or Alligator Alley heading west, roads are flat, wide, and easy. Watch for sudden afternoon thunderstorms May through October, pull over and wait them out if visibility drops. If city driving makes you nervous, book a host with RV delivery in Golden Glades and skip the interchange entirely on day one.

What amenities do campgrounds near Golden Glades offer?

Most campgrounds within an hour of Golden Glades offer full hookups (water, 30/50 amp electric, and sewer), with private RV resorts like Miami Everglades and Larry and Penny Thompson adding pools, laundry, and Wi-Fi. State parks like Oleta River and county parks like Markham typically offer water and electric at the site but not sewer, so you'll use the on-site dump station before leaving. Potable water fill stations are standard at most parks. Top off your fresh water tank and dump waste before heading into the Keys, dump stations south of Homestead are limited and can have lines on Sunday checkout days.

How does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Golden Glades?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card at booking, with no cash or host handoffs. A refundable security deposit is held (not charged) on your card before your trip, and the amount depends on the RV and is shown clearly on the listing. As long as you return the RV in the same condition you received it, the hold drops off after your trip ends. Do a quick walkaround video with your host at both pickup and drop-off, it's the easiest way to document condition and ensure your deposit is released quickly.

What's a local insider tip for an RV trip from Golden Glades?

Here's one most visitors miss: instead of driving straight to Key West on day one, break the trip with a night at Bahia Honda State Park (mile marker 37). It's home to one of the best beaches in the Keys, with snorkeling right off the sand and sunset views from the old Flagler railroad bridge. Reserve early, sites release 11 months out and vanish in minutes. On the way down, stop at Robert Is Here fruit stand in Homestead for a key lime milkshake, a Miami tradition since 1959. Leave Golden Glades by 7 AM on a weekday to beat traffic through the 18-Mile Stretch into Key Largo.
