This was our first time renting a camper. Great experience from start to finish. Larisa was a wonderful hostess! Quickly responsive. Right on time for delivery and pick- up. Her camper was extremely accommodating. We were 2 adults with 3 grown teens and NEVER felt cramped. Beds, linens, towels were super super comfy. I wouldn't think twice about renting again! My wife and I are thinking of buying an RV and decided to rent one and see if it was a good fit. What a stroke of luck it was finding Kerri and her rental unit. It was perfect for the two of us. We didn't need to pack anything but our tooth brushes. This camper had everything you needed from chairs to games to a completely stocked bathroom with anything you would need to refresh. It was exactly what a couple of novice campers needed. You will not be disappointed renting this unit. Kerri deserves 5 stars.

Our family greatly enjoyed traveling across Florida and back in this spacious, comfortable RV. The owners provided a PDF of the user manual and made themselves available for questions which helped a lot considering this was my first time renting a motor home. It was a very enjoyable experience so we’re looking forward to another RV rental in the future :)

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Jacksonville Beach?

Good news: RV rental in Jacksonville Beach is one of the most affordable ways to enjoy Florida's First Coast. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, campervans run roughly $125 to $200, and larger Class A or Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $325 per night, depending on age and amenities. You'll save the most by traveling midweek, booking in shoulder months like late September or early November, and filtering for listings with unlimited mileage. Pro tip: hosts near Atlantic Boulevard and Mayport often offer multi-night discounts of 10 to 15 percent, so stay at least three nights and message the host before booking to ask about weekly rates.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Jacksonville Beach?

You're in luck: a regular Class E Florida driver's license (or your home state or country equivalent) is all you need to rent an RV in Jacksonville Beach. Florida does not require a commercial driver's license or any special RV endorsement for motorhomes or trailers used for personal travel, regardless of size. You'll need to be 25 or older to book on RVezy, and ID verification happens securely through the platform when you reserve. Visiting from abroad? Pick up an International Driving Permit from your home auto club before flying into Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), and you're set to cruise A1A the day you land.

What protection and roadside help is included with my booking?

Every RV rental in Jacksonville Beach booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can drive over the Intracoastal bridges and down A1A with real peace of mind. During checkout you choose your coverage level (Essential, Standard, or Premium) based on the deductible and added benefits you prefer. What if I need to cancel my Jacksonville Beach RV trip?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not the individual host), and every reservation includes a short grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. After that window, refund eligibility depends on how far out you are from your trip start date. Coastal Florida sits in the Atlantic hurricane season from June through November, so if a named storm threatens Duval County, contact RVezy support right away to review your options. Pro tip: book early for events like the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, then relax knowing the cancellation terms are clear and consistent across every listing.

Where can I park or camp my RV near Jacksonville Beach?

You have fantastic options for RV camping Jacksonville Beach travelers love. Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park is the local favorite, with around 300 campsites just minutes from Atlantic Beach and direct ocean access. Pecan Park RV Resort, near JAX airport, offers full hookups, a pool, and quick I-95 access. Little Talbot Island State Park, about 25 minutes north, has oceanfront sites tucked in a maritime forest, and Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine is another favorite for beach lovers. Overnight street parking is not allowed in the City of Jacksonville Beach, so book a campground in advance, especially May through August.

When is the best time to take a Jacksonville Beach RV trip?

Jacksonville Beach is a true year-round destination, but the sweet spot for an RV trip is March through May and again from late September through early November, when daytime highs sit between 72 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity is comfortable. Summer (June to August) is hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and frequent afternoon thunderstorms, but the Atlantic stays warm and swimmable. Winters are mild with highs of 60 to 68 degrees, perfect for snowbirds escaping the north. Pro tip: book around the Springing the Blues Festival in early April for a quintessential Jax Beach experience, but reserve your RV at least two months ahead.

I have never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?

You'll be in great shape, even if this is your first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup or at delivery, showing you how to operate the slide-outs, awning, generator, water systems, and dump valves, and most hand you a written cheat sheet too. Many Jacksonville Beach hosts have years of experience helping nervous first-timers. Start with a travel trailer or smaller Class C if you're new, and pick a host with strong reviews. Pro tip: book a delivered RV to Hanna Park for your first trip, you'll skip the driving and learning curve entirely and wake up to ocean breezes the very first morning.

Just call the number in your booking confirmation and help will be dispatched. Your host is also typically reachable for quick troubleshooting, and RVezy support is available before, during, and after every trip. Can I take my Jacksonville Beach RV rental out of state or across the border?

Yes, an RV road trip from Jacksonville Beach into Georgia, the Carolinas, or anywhere in the continental US is generally welcome on RVezy, as long as you confirm the itinerary with your host first. Popular routes include heading north on I-95 to Savannah (about 140 miles), Charleston (about 240 miles), or the Outer Banks (about 560 miles), or west toward New Orleans (about 550 miles). Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage do not extend there. Cross-border trips into Canada may be possible with host approval. Message the host before booking with your full route so everyone is aligned from day one.

How much should I budget for fuel?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost on a Florida RV trip, so let's make it predictable. Gas prices in Jacksonville Beach typically run a few cents below the Florida average, often $3.00 to $3.40 per gallon at stations along Beach Boulevard and Atlantic Boulevard. Expect roughly 8 to 10 miles per gallon for a Class A, 10 to 14 for a Class C, 12 to 18 for a campervan, and 10 to 14 for a truck towing a travel trailer. For a 300-mile loop down to St. Augustine, Daytona, and back, budget $80 to $130 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up at the Costco or Sam's Club off Southside Boulevard before leaving town to save 20 to 40 cents per gallon.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Jacksonville Beach?

Book early, especially for waterfront sites. Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park reservations open through the City of Jacksonville's online system and oceanfront sites can fill 60 to 90 days out for spring and summer weekends. Florida State Parks like Little Talbot Island and Anastasia open reservations 11 months in advance through ReserveAmerica/Florida State Parks, and the best oceanfront spots are snapped up within minutes of release. Private parks like Pecan Park RV Resort usually have more flexibility, often available 2 to 4 weeks out. Pro tip: if you strike out on a state park, set up an availability alert on Campflare or Campnab, cancellations happen often and you can score a prime site within days.

What are the local driving conditions like in Jacksonville Beach?

Driving an RV around Jacksonville Beach is refreshingly easy compared to a city like Miami or Atlanta. Roads are flat, lanes are wide, and traffic only really backs up on the Hart Bridge and Beach Boulevard during weekday rush hour (7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.) and on summer weekends near the pier. Watch for a 13 foot 6 inch clearance limit on a few older underpasses near downtown, and avoid the narrow streets between 1st and 5th Avenue North in Jax Beach proper with anything larger than a Class C. Pro tip: take Butler Boulevard (J. Turner Butler) instead of Beach Boulevard for a smoother, faster route between I-95 and the coast.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Jacksonville Beach?

Local campgrounds offer everything from full-service luxury to back-to-nature beachfront. At Hanna Park you'll find 30/50-amp electric and water at most sites, a dump station, hot showers, laundry, and even kayak rentals on the freshwater lake. Pecan Park RV Resort has full hookups including sewer, plus pool, Wi-Fi, and pickleball. Florida State Parks like Little Talbot offer 30/50-amp electric and water at the site with a centralized dump station, but no sewer hookups. Potable water fills are available at every campground entrance. Pro tip: dump your tanks at Hanna Park's free dump station on your way out, it's open to all and saves you the search on travel day.

What features and amenities come in a typical Jacksonville Beach RV rental?

You'll be impressed at how well-equipped these rigs are. A typical motorhome rental Jacksonville Beach guests book includes a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with shower and toilet, sleeping for 2 to 8, roof-mounted air conditioning (essential in Florida), a furnace, and a TV. Most have a generator or solar for off-grid use, plus seatbelted seating for travel. Many hosts also include beach chairs, coolers, outdoor mats, and even bikes, perfect for cruising the Jax Beach boardwalk. Wi-Fi is sometimes included via a mobile hotspot, ask the host. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps and AC capacity for summer trips, you'll want strong cooling for those August afternoons.

What add-ons can I get and how does pickup or dropoff work?

Hosts offer all kinds of helpful extras to customize your campervan rental Jacksonville Beach experience. Common add-ons include linen and towel packages ($25 to $60), kitchen kits, generators, bike racks, paddleboards, kids' bedding bundles, and pet kits, all selectable during booking. Pickup is usually at the host's home or a meeting point near Jacksonville Beach, with a 60 to 90 minute walkthrough. Many hosts offer delivery to Hanna Park, Pecan Park, or your rental home for a flat fee or per-mile rate. Standard checkout includes returning the RV with the same fuel and propane levels, and an empty waste tank. Pro tip: opt for the dump-tanks add-on (usually $50 to $100) to skip the dump station on your last morning.
coj.net/departments/parks-and-recreation

How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy with a credit card when you book, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. The security deposit is separate from your booking payment and is pre-authorized (held, not charged) on your card a few days before pickup, then released after the trip wraps up cleanly. Deposit amounts vary by host and RV value but typically range from a few hundred dollars up to about $1,500 for Jacksonville Beach rentals. To avoid issues, do a thorough photo walkthrough at pickup and dropoff, return with the agreed fuel and propane levels, and stay under your mileage cap. Keep all communication inside RVezy messaging so you have a clear record.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Is a cheap RV rental in Jacksonville Beach realistic for a family trip?

Absolutely, a cheap RV rental Jacksonville Beach families can actually afford is one of RVezy's biggest strengths. Older but well-maintained travel trailers start around $75 to $95 per night, and when you split a campsite at Hanna Park ($43 to $55 per night) among four to six people, a family RV trip Jacksonville Beach style can come in well under what a beachfront hotel would cost for a single room. Bring groceries from the Publix on 3rd Street, cook in the RV, and you'll save another $300 to $500 over a week. Pro tip: look for hosts offering free delivery within 15 miles, you'll skip the rental car for the trip and save even more.
