Carlos went out of his way to make everything work. It was an especially crowded weekend in Miami with a lot of traffic, and Carlos delivered the RV like a professional. The RV itself, is extremely accommodating. Our favorite part where the wonderful meals we had. My family really enjoyed it. Everything was as described or better. It came with bedding, and everything you need for a wonderful experience. Everything was perfectly clean, and smelled good, etc. Don't take that for granted, sometimes RVs have a little smell to them. Carlos keeps this one smelling fantastic. It was clean, it was nice, and I would highly recommend.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Florida does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for personal motorhomes, campervans, or travel trailers rented through RVezy. Approved renters are generally 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the booking platform. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country's auto association along with your home license before you fly into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

What happens if I need to cancel my Lauderdale-by-the-Sea RV booking?

You can book your Lauderdale-by-the-Sea RV trip with confidence. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and it includes a money-back grace period right after booking, so you are not locked in the moment you confirm. Beyond that, refunds depend on how far out you cancel relative to your trip start date. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or provides travel credits so you can rebook. The full cancellation details are on the RVezy Help Center, but the headline is simple: there is a real safety net if plans change.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea?

Absolutely, plenty of pet-friendly RV rental options in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea welcome your four-legged co-pilot. On RVezy, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter to see hosts who allow dogs (and sometimes cats). Lauderdale-by-the-Sea itself is famously dog-friendly: leashed pups are welcome on the sidewalks of Commercial Boulevard, on the patios of many oceanfront restaurants, and at nearby Canine Beach in Fort Lauderdale (the only stretch of Broward County beach where dogs can legally swim, open Friday through Sunday). Pro tip: message your host before booking to confirm any pet fee and bring a beach towel, the sand here gets hot by 11 a.m.

Can the RV be delivered to my hotel, campground, or vacation rental?

Yes, RV delivery in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you're flying into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) just 15 minutes south. Many RVezy hosts will drive the RV to your campground, driveway, marina, or even directly to spots like Easterlin Park or Markham Park, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Filter by Delivery on RVezy to see which hosts offer it and how far they'll travel. It's the stress-free move for first-time renters who'd rather skip driving a 30-footer through downtown Fort Lauderdale.

How does mileage work, and how far can I drive from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea?

Mileage policies are set by each host on RVezy, and you'll see the exact daily allowance (plus any per-mile overage) right on the listing before you book. Some hosts even offer RV rentals with unlimited mileage, which is ideal for longer Florida routes. From Lauderdale-by-the-Sea you're perfectly positioned: Miami Beach is 35 miles south (about 50 minutes), Key Largo is 80 miles, Everglades National Park's Shark Valley entrance is 65 miles west, Palm Beach is 50 miles north, and the full drive to Key West runs roughly 165 miles down the Overseas Highway. Pro tip: if you're planning a Keys road trip, look for unlimited-mile listings to keep the budget predictable.

Where can I park or camp my RV near Lauderdale-by-the-Sea?

You've got solid options for RV camping in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and the surrounding Broward County. The closest public campground is Easterlin Park in Oakland Park (about 10 minutes inland, 55 full-hookup sites under giant cypress trees). Yacht Haven Park & Marina sits on the New River in Fort Lauderdale with 200+ full-hookup sites. Markham Park in Sunrise offers shaded RV sites near the Everglades' edge, and Hollywood KOA Holiday is 20 minutes south with a pool and full hookups. Heads up: overnight RV parking on Lauderdale-by-the-Sea streets is not allowed, so book a campground or use RVezy's delivery option to have the rig set up where you're staying.

When is the best time of year for a Lauderdale-by-the-Sea RV trip?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is November through April, when daytime highs sit at a perfect 72 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit, humidity drops, and the famous offshore reef (the only living coral reef in the continental U.S. that you can swim to from the beach) is at its clearest. Summer (June to September) brings highs in the upper 80s to low 90s with frequent afternoon thunderstorms and hurricane season running June 1 to November 30. May and October are the smart-money shoulder seasons, warm beach weather, fewer crowds, and lower nightly rates on RV rentals. Pack reef-safe sunscreen, it's required by several local dive operators.

I've never rented an RV before, will I be okay driving in South Florida?

You'll be just fine, first time renting an RV in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is more common than you'd think. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering driving, hookups, slide-outs, and the dump station, and they're a text away during your trip. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea itself is small and slow (25 mph through town), and most campgrounds are reached via I-95 or the Florida Turnpike, both wide and RV-friendly. The trickier areas are downtown Fort Lauderdale bridges and the narrow A1A through South Beach, so plan routes that stick to interstates. Nervous? Book delivery and let the host handle the driving entirely.

What if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on I-95, a dead battery at Markham Park, or a finicky generator at the campground is just a phone call away. Your host is also reachable directly through the RVezy app and can usually talk you through small fixes in minutes, like an awning that will not retract or a fridge that will not switch from propane to electric. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip, and South Florida is densely populated so help is rarely far away.

Can I take my Lauderdale-by-the-Sea RV rental to other states or out of the country?

Yes, you can absolutely take your Lauderdale-by-the-Sea RV on an interstate road trip, Georgia, the Carolinas, and beyond are all fair game with host approval. Popular routes from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea include the drive up A1A and I-95 to St. Augustine (310 miles), inland to Orlando's theme parks (210 miles), or west across the panhandle. Heads up on borders: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance doesn't extend there. Trips to Canada may be allowed with host approval, though it's a long haul from South Florida. Just message your host before booking to confirm your route, most are happy to say yes to multi-state adventures.

What should I budget for fuel on a Lauderdale-by-the-Sea RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost on any RV road trip from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, so here's a realistic baseline. Class B campervans get about 18 to 22 mpg, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 mpg, and big Class A coaches sip 6 to 10 mpg. Towable travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Florida gas prices typically run a bit below the national average (around $3.10 to $3.50 per gallon recently), and you'll find diesel and gas stations with easy RV access at Pilot/Flying J on I-95 in Fort Lauderdale and on Florida's Turnpike. For a 4-day, 400-mile loop down to the Keys and back, budget roughly $120 to $250 in fuel depending on rig size.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Lauderdale-by-the-Sea?

Book early, South Florida campgrounds fill up fast, especially in winter. For the high season (December through April), reserve 4 to 6 months out for popular spots like Easterlin Park, Markham Park, and T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Park, all of which use Broward County's online reservation system. Florida State Parks (Hugh Taylor Birch is right in Fort Lauderdale) open reservations 11 months in advance through FloridaStateParks.org and the best sites can disappear quickly after release. Private resorts like Yacht Haven and Hollywood KOA can sometimes be booked 1 to 2 months out in shoulder season. Set a calendar reminder for the 11-month-out date if you want a Hugh Taylor Birch site over the winter holidays.
