Carlos went out of his way to make everything work. It was an especially crowded weekend in Miami with a lot of traffic, and Carlos delivered the RV like a professional. The RV itself, is extremely accommodating. Our favorite part where the wonderful meals we had. My family really enjoyed it. Everything was as described or better. It came with bedding, and everything you need for a wonderful experience. Everything was perfectly clean, and smelled good, etc. Don't take that for granted, sometimes RVs have a little smell to them. Carlos keeps this one smelling fantastic. It was clean, it was nice, and I would highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Miami Gardens, FL

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Miami Gardens?

An RV rental in Miami Gardens is often more affordable than booking South Florida hotels near Hard Rock Stadium. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $85 to $135 per night, Class C motorhomes run $150 to $250 per night, and larger Class A coaches can reach $300 or more per night during peak winter season. You can save 15 to 30 percent by booking weekday trips, traveling May through early November, or filtering for hosts offering weekly discounts. Pro tip: a cheap RV rental in Miami Gardens during a Dolphins home game weekend is rare, so book at least 60 days ahead if your trip overlaps with stadium events to lock in the lower base rate.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Miami Gardens, FL?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Miami Gardens. Florida's standard Class E driver's license covers any non-commercial RV with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) under 26,000 pounds, which includes virtually every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, travel trailer, and most Class A coaches on RVezy. You will need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID right through the platform during checkout, so there is no extra paperwork at pickup. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you are set. Most first-time renters are surprised how quick the verification process is.

Is the RV protected if something happens during my trip?

Yes, every booking on RVezy automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit I-95 or the Florida Turnpike with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most physical damage to the vehicle during your rental, and you choose your coverage level during checkout, not the host. That means you can pick the package that matches your comfort level, whether you are doing a short Miami Gardens RV trip to the beach or a longer loop down to the Keys. Pro tip: review the coverage tiers carefully at booking, because upgrading once your trip starts is not possible, and the higher tiers can dramatically reduce your out-of-pocket responsibility if something unexpected happens.

What happens if I need to cancel my Miami Gardens RV rental?

Plans change, and RVezy has you covered. Every booking falls under RVezy's cancellation policy (not the host's), which includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates without overcommitting. Refund amounts after that window depend on how far out from your trip start date you cancel, and special circumstances like hurricanes or named tropical storms (a real consideration in South Florida from June through November) are reviewed by the RVezy support team. Pro tip: book early to get your pick of pet-friendly or delivery-ready RVs near Miami Gardens, then relax knowing you have flexibility built in if life or the weather shifts your plans.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Miami Gardens?

Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Miami Gardens is one of the easiest searches on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the listings page and you will see every host who welcomes dogs (and sometimes cats). Many South Florida hosts even leave bowls, towels, or a lint roller in the rig. Your pup will love the area too: Amelia Earhart Park in nearby Hialeah has a dedicated Bark Park and lake, and Haulover Beach about 25 minutes east is one of the only off-leash dog beaches in Miami-Dade County. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet fees (usually $25 to $75 per trip) and ask about their cleaning expectations to avoid surprises at return.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or hotel in Miami Gardens?

Yes, RV delivery in Miami Gardens is a popular option and a game-changer if it is your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will drive the motorhome or travel trailer directly to your campground, Airbnb driveway, or even a marina, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Common delivery destinations include Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park, Markham Park in Sunrise, and Miami Everglades Resort in Homestead, typically within a 30 to 50 mile radius. Filter by Delivery on the listings page to see hosts offering this service. Pro tip: delivery fees are usually quoted per mile round-trip, so booking a host based closer to Miami Gardens keeps the price down.

How far can I drive, and do any rentals offer unlimited mileage?

You have plenty of range for a Miami Gardens RV trip, and yes, RV rental with unlimited mileage is available from select hosts on RVezy. Most hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night and charge $0.30 to $0.50 per extra mile, which is more than enough for popular runs like Key Largo (about 65 miles south), Everglades National Park main entrance near Homestead (about 55 miles southwest), Naples (about 110 miles west via Alligator Alley), or Orlando (about 235 miles north). If you are planning a bigger loop, filter for listings advertising unlimited mileage or message the host to negotiate a higher daily allotment. Pro tip: map your full route first, then pick the mileage package that beats paying per-mile overages.

Where are the best campgrounds near Miami Gardens for RV camping?

You have great options for RV camping near Miami Gardens, all within roughly an hour's drive. Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park in south Miami-Dade offers 240 full-hookup sites and a lake, about 35 to 45 minutes south. C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines (about 15 minutes north) has RV sites with hookups and a water playground. Markham Park in Sunrise sits next to the Everglades buffer and offers shaded sites with electric and water. Easterlin Park in Oakland Park has a small but pretty pine-shaded loop for a quieter vibe. Pro tip: book Larry and Penny Thompson well in advance between January and April when northern snowbirds dominate availability.
miamidade.gov/parks/larry-penny.asp

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Miami Gardens?

The sweet spot for a Miami Gardens RV trip is mid-November through April, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit, humidity drops, and mosquito pressure in the Everglades plummets. May through October is hot (highs in the upper 80s to low 90s), humid, and falls inside Atlantic hurricane season, which officially runs June 1 to November 30. The trade-off: summer rates are noticeably cheaper and afternoon thunderstorms usually clear by evening for beautiful sunsets. Pro tip: late October and early November is the local insider's window, with near-perfect weather, lower prices, and minimal crowds at Everglades and Biscayne National Parks before snowbird season hits in December.

I have never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?

You will be more than okay, first time renting an RV in Miami Gardens is genuinely easier than people expect. Every host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup or delivery, covering propane, slide-outs, the generator, dumping tanks, and how to back into a site. Most first-timers choose a Class C motorhome (drives like a big van) or a small travel trailer for confidence. You can also message the host before booking with any question, no matter how basic, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every protection plan, so help is one phone call away. Pro tip: pick a host with strong reviews mentioning clear walkthroughs and responsive communication, that combination is the best predictor of a smooth first trip.

What if the RV breaks down during my trip?

You are not on your own, every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan. If you get a flat on the Florida Turnpike, the battery dies at Larry and Penny Thompson Park, or the generator quits at a Keys campsite, you call the roadside hotline and they dispatch help. For non-emergency issues like a finicky AC or a confusing slide-out, your host is your first call and usually the fastest fix, they know their RV inside and out. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap photos of the dashboard, tire condition, and fluid levels during your walkthrough so you have a baseline if anything comes up later.

Can I take my Miami Gardens RV rental to other states or across the border?

Yes, an RV road trip from Miami Gardens can easily cross state lines. The Georgia border is about 350 miles north on I-95, and many hosts allow travel throughout the continental US. Popular multi-state routes include Miami Gardens to Savannah, GA (about 6 hours) or up to the Smoky Mountains for a longer adventure. Travel to Mexico is not allowed on any RVezy rental because insurance and the protection plan do not extend there. Travel to Canada may be allowed depending on the specific host and listing, so message them before booking to confirm. Pro tip: confirm your route in writing with the host through RVezy chat so everyone is aligned on mileage and destinations before you depart.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What kind of fuel mileage should I expect, and what does gas cost in Miami Gardens?

Budget realistically and you will not be surprised. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 mpg, Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 mpg, and Class A coaches typically run 6 to 10 mpg. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle but expect a 20 to 30 percent fuel-economy hit while towing. South Florida gas prices generally track close to the US average, with diesel running about $0.30 to $0.60 higher per gallon. For a 300-mile loop in a Class C, plan roughly $100 to $150 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up off I-95 and the Turnpike at stations along US-1 or NW 27th Avenue for better prices than the highway exits.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Miami Gardens?

For peak winter season (December through April), book Florida State Park sites the moment your 11-month reservation window opens through the official Florida State Parks reservation system, popular parks like Bahia Honda and John Pennekamp often sell out the same morning. County parks like Larry and Penny Thompson and C.B. Smith Park near Miami Gardens are best booked 3 to 6 months ahead for winter, and 2 to 4 weeks ahead in summer. Private RV resorts in Homestead and the Keys fill up especially fast around holidays and major events. Pro tip: if you strike out, check the state parks reservation site early in the morning Eastern time, that is when newly cancelled sites tend to release back into inventory.
floridastateparks.org/learn/reservation-information

What is driving like in and around Miami Gardens?

Miami Gardens is at the crossroads of I-95, the Florida Turnpike, and the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826), so highway driving is straightforward, but rush hour (7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.) can be heavy, especially on Dolphins game days near Hard Rock Stadium. Roads are flat and well-paved, which is great for first-timers, but watch for sudden afternoon thunderstorms from June to September and the occasional king-tide flooding on coastal roads in the fall. Avoid driving large Class A coaches on narrow streets in Miami Beach (Collins Ave) and South Beach due to low-clearance trees and signage. Pro tip: nature is closer than you think, Everglades National Park's Shark Valley entrance is just about 45 minutes west on Tamiami Trail (US-41).
fdot.gov/

What amenities do campgrounds near Miami Gardens offer, and where do I dump tanks?

Most campgrounds near Miami Gardens are well-equipped for RVers. Larry and Penny Thompson, C.B. Smith Park, and Markham Park all offer full hookups (water, 30/50 amp electric, and sewer) at the majority of their sites, plus on-site dump stations for those without sewer hookups. Private resorts like Miami Everglades Resort in Homestead add pools, Wi-Fi, laundry, and propane refills. Potable water fills are standard at every full-hookup site. If you are boondocking, use apps like Sanidumps or Campendium to find current public dump station locations along your route. Pro tip: dump your gray and black tanks before driving back into the dense Miami metro area, finding a dump station inside the city core is tougher than along your route in.
miamidade.gov/parks/camping.asp

What's typically included inside a motorhome rental in Miami Gardens?

Motorhome rental in Miami Gardens listings on RVezy come ready to roll. Expect a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink, basic cookware), a bathroom with toilet and shower, real beds (queens, bunks, or convertible dinettes depending on layout), roof-mounted air conditioning (essential in South Florida), and seatbelts for every traveling passenger. Many hosts include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, camp chairs, and a generator for off-grid power. Wi-Fi hotspots and starter kits (toilet paper, dish soap, paper towels) are common add-ons. Each listing spells out exactly what is included on the page. Pro tip: in Miami's heat, confirm with the host that both the dash AC and the rooftop AC work well, you will want both running on summer travel days.
weather.gov/mfl/climate

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

South Florida hosts offer some genuinely useful add-ons that make a campervan rental Miami Gardens trip smoother. Common options include linen and towel packages ($25 to $75), camp chair and table kits, portable grills, generators (sometimes included, sometimes $10 to $25 per day), bike racks, beach gear bundles, and Starlink or Wi-Fi hotspots. Pickup is usually at the host's home in the greater Miami area, but delivery and setup is widely available, perfect if you are flying into Miami International or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and heading straight to a campground. Mileage policies and add-on fees are listed transparently on each listing. Pro tip: bundling delivery plus a linen package often costs less than the rideshare fares you would otherwise pay to pick up the rig yourself.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment on RVezy is simple and secure, you pay through the platform with a credit or debit card at booking, never directly to the host in cash. A security deposit hold is placed on your card before pickup (typically several hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV's value), and it is released after the trip ends once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape with clean tanks and the agreed fuel level. Damage claims, if any, are handled through RVezy, not between you and the host one-on-one. Pro tip: do a thorough walk-around with the host at both pickup and return, snap timestamped photos of the exterior, interior, tires, and odometer, that is the single best way to ensure your deposit is returned quickly and in full.
