Carlos went out of his way to make everything work. It was an especially crowded weekend in Miami with a lot of traffic, and Carlos delivered the RV like a professional. The RV itself, is extremely accommodating. Our favorite part where the wonderful meals we had. My family really enjoyed it. Everything was as described or better. It came with bedding, and everything you need for a wonderful experience. Everything was perfectly clean, and smelled good, etc. Don't take that for granted, sometimes RVs have a little smell to them. Carlos keeps this one smelling fantastic. It was clean, it was nice, and I would highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Miami Shores, FL

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Miami Shores, FL?

RV rental in Miami Shores is more affordable than many nearby Miami Beach hotel rates. On RVezy, travel trailers average around $120 per night and motorhomes typically run $200 per night, with many hosts offering 10 to 20 percent weekly discounts. For a cheap RV rental in Miami Shores, look at travel trailers booked midweek during the shoulder months of May or late September, when demand drops between snowbird season and summer holidays. Pro tip: filter for Instant Book listings under $150 and ask the host about a multi-night discount in your first message, you will often save more than chasing coupon codes.

Good news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Miami Shores, Florida. No special RV endorsement or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for the motorhomes and travel trailers listed on RVezy here. Approved renters are generally 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID right inside the platform during booking, so there is no extra paperwork to chase down. Visiting from abroad? Is insurance and roadside assistance included with my Miami Shores RV rental?

Yes, every RVezy booking in Miami Shores includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit I-95 or the Florida Turnpike with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV at the coverage level you select during checkout (not the host), so you can pick the tier that matches your comfort level and budget. If you get a flat tire on the way to the Florida Keys or your battery dies at a campground, one phone call gets help dispatched. That safety net is part of why so many first-time renters start their motorhome rental Miami Shores trip with confidence.

What if I need to cancel my Miami Shores RV booking?

Booking an RV rental in Miami Shores is lower risk than you might think. RVezy (not the individual host) sets the cancellation policy that applies to every booking on the platform, and refund eligibility depends on how far out you are from your trip start date. If a named hurricane or tropical storm threatens South Florida during your trip window, contact RVezy support right away and they will walk you through your options. Book first, plan the details after, that is the smart move here.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Miami Shores?

Absolutely, and South Florida is one of the most dog-loving regions in the country. To find a pet-friendly RV rental in Miami Shores, toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see many listings whose hosts welcome dogs (some allow cats too). Once you arrive, your pup will love Miami Shores' own Bayfront Park along Biscayne Bay, plus the leash-friendly trails at Oleta River State Park about 15 minutes north. Most Miami-Dade County parks allow leashed dogs in day-use areas. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet fees and any breed or size notes, then pack a beach towel, your trip will absolutely involve sand.

Can the RV be delivered to my hotel or campground in Miami Shores?

Yes, RV delivery in Miami Shores is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who do not want to drive a big rig through Biscayne Boulevard traffic. Many local hosts will deliver and set up the RV at your campground, a friend's driveway, or a nearby park like Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park near Zoo Miami. They will level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every switch before they leave. Filter for Delivery on RVezy to see hosts who offer this in the Miami Shores area. It is the easiest way to start your Miami Shores RV trip, just show up with groceries and beach gear.

How many miles can I drive on my Miami Shores RV rental?

You have plenty of room to roam. Most hosts in Miami Shores include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and you will find listings advertising RV rental with unlimited mileage if you plan a longer route. Extra miles typically run $0.30 to $0.45 each, which is easy to budget. To put it in perspective, Key West is about 165 miles south, Everglades National Park's Shark Valley entrance is roughly 40 miles west, Naples on the Gulf Coast is about 110 miles, and Orlando theme parks sit around 235 miles north. Pro tip: if your itinerary tops 500 miles, message the host before booking and ask for a custom mileage package, many will bundle it cheaper than a la carte.

Where are the best campgrounds near Miami Shores to park my RV?

You have great options within a 30-minute drive. Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park (about 25 miles southwest, next to Zoo Miami) offers 240 wooded sites with full hookups and a freshwater lake. Miami Everglades RV Resort in the Redland is a tropical park tucked among mango and avocado groves, perfect as a base for Everglades day trips. Oleta River State Park, just 8 miles north in North Miami Beach, has cabins and primitive group camping along Biscayne Bay with kayaking out your door (note: full RV hookup sites are limited, so confirm site type when booking). Goldcoaster RV Resort in Homestead and Yacht Haven Park in Fort Lauderdale round out the favorites. Insider tip: book sites 3 to 6 months ahead for January through March, that is peak snowbird season.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Miami Shores?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Miami Shores runs from mid-November through April, when daytime highs hover between 72 and 80 F, humidity drops, and mosquitoes are far less of an issue. December through February averages a pleasant 75 F, which is why snowbirds flood the area and campgrounds fill fast. May through October is hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and frequent afternoon thunderstorms, plus the official Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Shoulder months like late October, early November, and May can offer lower nightly rates with still-pleasant weather. Pro tip: book by September if you want a winter rental, the best rigs go quickly once Northerners start planning their escape.

I have never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Miami Shores?

You absolutely will, and you are not alone. First time renting an RV is one of the most common scenarios on RVezy, and every host in Miami Shores provides a walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, water, sewer, and propane. If the idea of merging onto I-95 makes you nervous, book a host who offers delivery so the RV is set up and waiting when you arrive. Travel trailers under 25 feet and Class B campervans are the easiest to drive locally because they handle more like a large SUV. Pro tip: practice in a quiet lot, like the one near Barry University, before heading to the Keys, 20 minutes of low-stress driving makes a huge difference in confidence.

What happens if I have a breakdown or roadside emergency?

You are covered around the clock. Every RV rental in Miami Shores booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on the Overseas Highway or a dead battery at South Pointe Park is just one phone call away from help. Roadside dispatch handles common issues like jump-starts, tire changes, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified service center. Your host is also a great first call for quick troubleshooting, many South Florida hosts respond within minutes. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number and your host's contact in your phone before you leave the driveway, and snap a photo of the VIN plate so you have it ready when you call.

Can I take a Miami Shores RV rental to the Florida Keys or out of state?

Yes, and these are some of the best RV road trips from Miami Shores. Most hosts allow Florida Keys runs (Key Largo is about 60 miles south, Key West roughly 165 miles) and trips up the Atlantic coast through Daytona, Savannah, and Charleston. Cross-state travel into Georgia and beyond is generally fine, just confirm with your host when you book so they can note it on your trip agreement. One important note: travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the protection plan does not cover it. Pro tip: the Overseas Highway (US-1) through the Keys has plenty of RV-friendly bridges and pull-offs, but reserve your campsite at John Pennekamp or Bahia Honda months in advance.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/john-pennekamp-coral-reef-state-park

What kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?

Plan smart and fuel will not surprise you. Class C motorhomes around Miami Shores average 8 to 10 miles per gallon on regular unleaded, Class A rigs run 6 to 8 MPG, Class B campervans get a friendly 15 to 20 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 MPG). Florida gas prices typically sit near the national average, and you will find plenty of large-format Wawa, Pilot, and RaceTrac stations along I-95, the Turnpike, and US-1 that can fit big rigs easily. For a 4-night trip with 400 miles driven in a Class C, budget roughly $180 to $220 in fuel. Pro tip: GasBuddy and the Pilot Flying J app will save you real money on a Keys round trip.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I reserve a campsite near Miami Shores?

Book early and you are golden. For winter season (November through April), reserve Florida State Park sites like Oleta River and John Pennekamp 11 months ahead through the official ReserveAmerica Florida State Parks portal, which is when the booking window opens. Miami-Dade County parks like Larry and Penny Thompson open reservations through their county system and typically have availability 2 to 4 months out. Private resorts like Miami Everglades and Goldcoaster recommend 2 to 3 months in advance for peak season. For summer or shoulder-season trips, 2 to 4 weeks is usually plenty. Insider tip: set a calendar reminder for 11 months before your target date and log in at 8:00 a.m. Eastern, the best waterfront sites disappear within minutes.

What is driving an RV like in and around Miami Shores?

Miami Shores itself is calm, leafy, and easy to drive, with wide residential streets along Biscayne Boulevard (US-1) and quick access to I-95 and the Julia Tuttle Causeway. Once you leave the Village, expect heavier traffic on I-95 and the Palmetto Expressway, especially weekday rush hours from 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Watch for low clearances under some downtown Miami overpasses and avoid the Rickenbacker Causeway in larger rigs. Afternoon thunderstorms in summer can drop visibility fast, so pull over if rain gets heavy. Pro tip: drive in or out of the city before 7 a.m. or after 8 p.m., and the Florida Turnpike is your big-rig friend, smoother and far less stressful than I-95.
fdot.gov/traffic/

What amenities do campgrounds near Miami Shores typically offer?

Most campgrounds in the Miami Shores area are well equipped for a comfortable stay. Expect full hookup sites with 30 or 50 amp electric, fresh water, and sewer connections at private parks like Miami Everglades RV Resort, Goldcoaster, and Yacht Haven Park. Larry and Penny Thompson and Oleta River State Park also offer dump stations, potable water fill stations, and bathhouses with hot showers. Pools, laundry, Wi-Fi, and pet-friendly dog parks are common amenities. To find a dump station between campgrounds, sites like Sanidumps.com map out free and paid options along your route. Pro tip: top off fresh water before you head into the Everglades or Keys, some remote sites have limited fill points and you will thank yourself on day two.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/oleta-river-state-park

What features and amenities come with the RVs themselves?

Miami Shores RV rentals are built for comfort in the South Florida heat. Most rigs on RVezy come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a full bathroom with shower and toilet, dinette seating with seatbelts, and powerful roof-mounted air conditioning, which is non-negotiable here. Many include a flat-screen TV, outdoor awning, and onboard generator for boondocking. Wi-Fi is hit or miss in remote spots like the Everglades, so most travelers tether to their phone. Class C and Class A motorhomes typically sleep 4 to 8, making them perfect for a family RV trip Miami Shores adventure. Check each listing's amenities checklist on RVezy to confirm exactly what is included.

What add-ons and options can I expect when booking an RV in Miami Shores?

You can really customize your campervan rental Miami Shores experience. Popular add-ons from local hosts include linen and towel packages ($30 to $75), kitchen kits with pots, plates, and utensils ($25 to $50), portable grills, generators, beach chairs, snorkel gear, bike racks, and pet packages. Delivery and setup typically runs $2 to $5 per mile from the host's location, with many hosts offering free delivery within Miami Shores or to nearby campgrounds. Pickup and dropoff times are usually flexible, just coordinate with your host through RVezy messaging. Mileage policies vary by listing, so check the details before booking. Pro tip: bundle add-ons in one message to your host and ask if they will combine for a discount, many will say yes.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book an RV rental in Miami Shores, RVezy charges your card directly through the platform, no cash or external transfers to the host. A refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig) is held before your trip starts and returned after dropoff, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition. To avoid any deposit issues, take date-stamped photos and a quick walkaround video at pickup and dropoff, return the RV with the same fuel and propane level, and empty the tanks if your host requires it. Pro tip: review the trip agreement carefully before you sign, that is where mileage limits, cleaning fees, and dump fees are spelled out clearly.

Where can I park an RV in Miami Shores, and can I keep it at a house?

You have solid options, just know the local rules. In Miami Shores Village, recreational vehicles can be parked at developed single-family residences but cannot be used as living quarters on private property, and only at developed (not vacant) lots. In unincorporated Miami-Dade County, an out-of-county guest can park their RV at a friend or family member's home for up to 14 days, behind the front building line. For overnight sleeping, head to a real campground like Oleta River State Park (8 miles north) or Larry and Penny Thompson Park near Zoo Miami. Pro tip: if you are visiting family in Miami Shores, ask your RVezy host about delivery directly to a campground instead, you skip the parking question entirely and start your trip relaxed.
