Carlos went out of his way to make everything work. It was an especially crowded weekend in Miami with a lot of traffic, and Carlos delivered the RV like a professional. The RV itself, is extremely accommodating. Our favorite part where the wonderful meals we had. My family really enjoyed it. Everything was as described or better. It came with bedding, and everything you need for a wonderful experience. Everything was perfectly clean, and smelled good, etc. Don't take that for granted, sometimes RVs have a little smell to them. Carlos keeps this one smelling fantastic. It was clean, it was nice, and I would highly recommend.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Plantation, FL?

Great news for first-time renters: Florida does not require a special license or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to drive a recreational vehicle for personal use, no matter the size. Your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Plantation. You'll just need to be 25 or older to book on RVezy, and your ID is confirmed quickly through the platform during checkout. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set. Most first-timers are surprised how easy the process is once they realize a normal license unlocks even a 30-foot Class C.

Is there protection included with my Plantation RV rental?

Yes, and that's one of the best parts of booking with RVezy. Every motorhome rental in Plantation comes with a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you're covered against most damage to the vehicle and never stranded if something goes wrong. During checkout you choose the protection level that fits your trip, whether that's a quick weekend to the Keys or a two-week loop through the Everglades. Pro tip: take a few photos of the RV at pickup and dropoff for an extra layer of confidence and a smooth deposit return.

What if I need to cancel my Plantation RV trip?

Plans change, and booking is low risk. RVezy sets a clear cancellation policy that includes a money-back grace period right after booking, so you have time to confirm dates and details. There are also accommodations for serious situations like hurricanes or named tropical storms, which matters in South Florida where the Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. Hosts do not set cancellation terms, RVezy does, so the experience is consistent across every listing. Pro tip: review the cancellation details during checkout so you know exactly where you stand before your Plantation RV trip begins.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Plantation?

Absolutely, dogs are welcome on many Plantation rentals. Filter for pet-friendly RV rental Plantation on RVezy and you'll see motorhomes whose owners happily host four-legged co-pilots, sometimes with a small pet cleaning fee. Once you arrive, your pup will love Plantation Heritage Park's shaded trails and the Happy Tails Dog Park right in town. Heading to the beach? Canine Beach in Fort Lauderdale (about 10 miles east) allows dogs with a permit. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet details, and pack a cooling mat since South Florida pavement gets hot fast.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Plantation?

Yes, RV delivery Plantation is one of the most popular options on the platform, especially for first timers who don't want to drive a big rig through Broward County traffic. Many hosts will deliver the RV directly to your campground, driveway, or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), set it up with water and power, and walk you through every system. Common drop-off spots include Markham Park in Sunrise, Easterlin Park in Oakland Park, and Yacht Haven Park along State Road 84. Delivery fees usually run a few dollars per mile from the host's location. Pro tip: filter by Delivery on RVezy and you'll skip the driving stress entirely.

How far can I drive on a Plantation RV rental?

You've got plenty of road to explore. Most hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and many offer RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer trips, which is perfect since Plantation sits at the gateway of some legendary Florida drives. Key Largo is just 70 miles south, Key West is 165 miles down the Overseas Highway, Everglades National Park's Flamingo Campground is about 90 miles, and Orlando is roughly 215 miles north. If you're plotting an RV road trip from Plantation up the Atlantic coast, additional miles typically cost $0.30 to $0.50 each. Pro tip: message the host with your route and ask about a flat-rate mileage package for bigger trips.

Where are the best campgrounds near Plantation, FL?

You're spoiled for choice. Top picks within 30 minutes of Plantation include Markham Park in Sunrise (full hookups, target range and mountain bike trails), Easterlin Park in Oakland Park (a peaceful oak hammock just a few miles away), Topeekeegee Yugnee (T-Y) Park in Hollywood (lakefront sites and a water park), and Yacht Haven Park and Marina on State Road 84 (waterfront RV sites minutes from Fort Lauderdale Beach). For a bigger adventure, Long Pine Key Campground in Everglades National Park is a favorite during the dry season. Pro tip: Broward County parks book through the county reservation system, so grab winter dates early.

When is the best time of year for RV camping Plantation?

Plantation is a true year-round destination, but the sweet spot is November through April, when daytime highs sit between 73°F and 82°F, humidity drops, and mosquitoes basically disappear. This is also South Florida's dry season, so you'll get sunny days perfect for the beach and Everglades day trips. May through October is hot and humid (highs near 90°F) with afternoon thunderstorms and the Atlantic hurricane season running June 1 to November 30, but rates drop significantly and campgrounds are wide open. Pro tip: late October and early November are the local insiders' favorite, you get post-hurricane-season calm, cheap RV rental Plantation pricing, and beach weather all at once.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay in Plantation?

You'll do great, and you won't be left to figure it out alone. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering the water system, propane, slide-outs, generator, and driving tips. Many Plantation hosts have rented to dozens of first timers and know which questions to anticipate. If you're nervous about navigating I-595, I-95, or the Sawgrass Expressway, choose a Class B campervan or a smaller Class C under 25 feet, both handle like a large van. Better yet, request delivery so the RV is parked and set up when you arrive. Pro tip: do a short test drive in your host's neighborhood before hitting the highway.

What happens if something breaks down during my trip?

You're never on your own. Every Plantation RV rental on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and fuel delivery. Your host is just a message away through the RVezy app, and the RVezy support team is reachable around the clock before, during, and after your trip. South Florida has dense networks of repair shops and Camping World locations along I-95 and Florida's Turnpike, so help is rarely far. Pro tip: snap a quick photo of the roadside-assistance contact info inside the RV at pickup so it's handy if you ever need it.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protection

Can I take my Plantation rental to the Keys, the Everglades, or out of state?

Yes to all three, and these are the classic routes. The Overseas Highway to Key Largo (70 miles), Marathon (115 miles), and Key West (165 miles) is one of America's most iconic drives. Everglades National Park's main entrance in Homestead is about 60 miles southwest, and the Tamiami Trail (US 41) west toward Naples is a stunning gator-spotting route. Heading north, St. Augustine and Savannah are popular RV road trip from Plantation destinations. Cross-state travel is fine. Travel to Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: message the host before booking if you plan to cross into Georgia or beyond, just so they can confirm long-distance details.
floridakeys.noaa.gov/visitor_info/welcome.html

What should I budget for fuel on a Plantation RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable, but it's easy to plan for. Florida gas prices typically run around $3.10 to $3.50 per gallon, and you'll find plenty of large-vehicle-friendly stations along I-95, the Florida Turnpike, and US-441 through Plantation. Class B campervans get 18-22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 8-12 MPG, and Class A rigs typically return 6-10 MPG. A round trip to Key West (about 330 miles) in a Class C will cost roughly $110-$140 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up at Costco on West Sunrise Boulevard or the Pilot/Flying J in Pompano Beach before heading south, since gas in the Keys is notably more expensive.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Plantation?

For winter trips (December through April), book your campground the moment your RV is reserved, ideally 3 to 6 months out. South Florida is snowbird central and spots like Markham Park, Easterlin Park, and Long Pine Key in the Everglades fill fast on weekends. Broward County parks reserve through the county's online system, while Everglades sites at Flamingo and Long Pine Key are booked through Flamingo Adventures, the official park concessioner. Summer trips are much more relaxed, you can often book 2 to 4 weeks out. Pro tip: if a campground is full, check nearby private RV resorts like Yacht Haven Park, which often have last-minute openings.

What's it like driving an RV around Plantation and South Florida?

It's easier than you'd think if you plan smart. Plantation itself is flat, grid-shaped, and the major arteries (University Drive, Broward Boulevard, State Road 7) are wide and RV-friendly. Avoid downtown Fort Lauderdale's low railway bridges and the narrow lanes of Las Olas Boulevard, and skip rush hour on I-95 (7-9 AM and 4-6 PM) when traffic gets dense. Summer brings dramatic afternoon thunderstorms, so plan driving for the morning. Watch for sudden lane changes from local drivers, especially near airport exits. Pro tip: the Sawgrass Expressway and Florida's Turnpike are toll roads but stay calmer than I-95, and SunPass tolls are usually billed automatically through your host.
fdot.gov/traffic/

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Plantation?

Expect modern, well-equipped sites. Most RV parks within 30 miles of Plantation offer full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50-amp electric), free WiFi, hot showers, laundry, and a swimming pool, since South Florida campgrounds cater heavily to snowbirds. Markham Park and T-Y Park have dump stations, potable water fills, and even mountain biking and lake access. Long Pine Key in the Everglades has potable water, flush toilets, and an RV dump station but no electrical hookups, so you'll run off battery and propane. Pro tip: before driving back to your host, top off fresh water and dump tanks at your campground, it'll save you a stop and possible cleaning fees.
broward.org/Parks/MarkhamPark/Pages/default.aspx

What's typically included inside a Plantation RV rental?

You'll be impressed by how move-in ready these rigs are. Most motorhome rentals in Plantation come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, sleeper sofa, full kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink, cookware), bathroom with shower and toilet, air conditioning (essential in Florida), heating, dining area, and seatbelts for everyone traveling. Many include flat-screen TVs, Bluetooth speakers, outdoor awnings with chairs, and a generator for off-grid use. Linens and kitchen kits are often offered as add-ons. Pro tip: when comparing campervan rental Plantation listings, check the sleeps count and seatbelt count carefully, especially for a family RV trip Plantation where every passenger needs a belted seat while driving.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/seat-belts

What add-ons and pickup options can I expect?

Hosts in Plantation offer a great mix of extras to customize your trip. Common add-ons include linen and kitchen kits ($25-$75), bikes, beach gear, paddleboards, portable grills, generators, and pet packages. Many hosts also offer delivery and setup ($2-$5/mile), late-night pickup at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), and one-way drop-offs to Miami or Orlando on request. Mileage policies vary by host, with most including 100-150 free miles per night and some offering unlimited mileage for longer trips. Pro tip: message the host before booking to bundle add-ons, many will offer a small discount if you book delivery plus a kit together, and it locks in your pickup logistics in writing.
broward.org/Airport/Pages/default.aspx

How does payment and the security deposit work?

It's straightforward and secure. All payments go through RVezy's protected checkout, never directly to the host, so you're covered from the moment you book. You'll pay the rental total plus taxes and any add-ons at booking, and a refundable security deposit is held on your card (typically a few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the RV class) close to your pickup date. The deposit is released after your trip, usually within a few days, assuming no damage or excess cleaning. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video with your host at both pickup and dropoff to document the RV's condition and help ensure your full deposit comes back fast.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

How do I handle Florida's heat and summer storms in an RV?

Easy, just plan around them and you'll be comfortable. Every modern RV in Plantation comes with air conditioning, but it needs shore power (30 or 50-amp hookups) to run nonstop in summer, so book campgrounds with electric. Drive in the morning when temperatures are in the 70s-80s and roads are dry, since afternoon thunderstorms roll in like clockwork between June and September. Keep windows cracked for airflow when parked in shade, and stock up on water at any Publix before heading into the Everglades. Pro tip: the shoulder months of late October, November, March, and April give you 75-82°F days without the storms, making them the smart-money window for an RV trip Plantation locals quietly love.
