Carlos went out of his way to make everything work. It was an especially crowded weekend in Miami with a lot of traffic, and Carlos delivered the RV like a professional. The RV itself, is extremely accommodating. Our favorite part where the wonderful meals we had. My family really enjoyed it. Everything was as described or better. It came with bedding, and everything you need for a wonderful experience. Everything was perfectly clean, and smelled good, etc. Don't take that for granted, sometimes RVs have a little smell to them. Carlos keeps this one smelling fantastic. It was clean, it was nice, and I would highly recommend.

What license do I need to rent an RV in West Little River, Florida?

Good news for first-timers: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in West Little River. Florida does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special RV endorsement for motorhomes under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every rental on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and you'll verify your ID through the RVezy platform during checkout. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country's auto club along with your home license. That's it, you're cleared to cruise A1A or head west to the Everglades.

Is my RV rental in West Little River protected if something goes wrong?

Every RVezy booking in West Little River includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the road with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most damages to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage tier at checkout (not the host) so you can match it to your comfort level. While it's not traditional auto insurance, it provides meaningful financial protection against the unexpected, whether that's a flat tire on the Florida Turnpike or a fender bump at a Homestead campground. Pro tip: review the coverage tiers carefully if you're planning long mileage days down to Key West.

What's the cancellation policy if my Miami plans change?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and it includes a money-back grace period after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. Refund amounts depend on how far out from your trip you cancel, and you'll see the full policy clearly during checkout before you pay. This matters in South Florida from June through November when hurricane activity can affect travel plans. Pro tip: book your West Little River RV trip early in hurricane season for the best selection, and review the cancellation terms at checkout so you know exactly where you stand if plans shift.

Can I bring my dog on an RV rental in West Little River?

Yes, plenty of hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental in West Little River, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see them instantly. South Florida is fantastic for dog-owning RVers: Larry and Penny Thompson Park allows leashed pets, Amelia Earhart Park in Hialeah has a dedicated off-leash dog area just minutes north of West Little River, and the Haulover dog beach is a beloved off-leash spot for pups. Many hosts charge a small pet fee (typically $25 to $75) to cover extra cleaning. Message the host before booking to confirm pet details and any breed or size notes. Your co-pilot is going to love this trip.

Many hosts will deliver and set up your motorhome rental in West Little River directly at your campground, vacation rental, or even a friend's driveway. From West Little River you can reach Key Largo in about 1.5 hours (60 miles), Everglades National Park's Flamingo area in roughly 2.5 hours (90 miles), Naples in about 2 hours (110 miles), Orlando in 3.5 hours (235 miles), and Key West in roughly 3.5 to 4 hours (160 miles). Where are the best campgrounds near West Little River?

You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near West Little River include Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park (a county-run gem in southwest Miami-Dade with hundreds of RV sites and a lake), Miami Everglades Resort in Homestead (full hookups, pool, and close to the national park), Miami Everglades KOA Holiday (family-friendly with cabins and a pool), Boardwalk RV Resort in Homestead, and Naples KOA on the Gulf side about 2 hours west. All offer full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50 amp electric). Pro tip: county parks book up months ahead for snowbird season, so reserve Larry and Penny Thompson the moment your dates are firm.

When is the best time for an RV trip from West Little River?

The sweet spot for any West Little River RV trip is mid-November through mid-April, when daytime highs sit around 72 to 80 F, humidity drops, and mosquitoes back off, ideal for the Everglades and Keys. December through March is peak snowbird season, so book early. Summer (June to September) brings 90+ F temps, high humidity, daily afternoon thunderstorms, and hurricane season, but it's also when you'll find the cheapest RV rental in West Little River and quieter campgrounds. Shoulder months (late October, early May) offer the smartest balance of weather and price. Local insider tip: even in winter, pack a light layer for early mornings in the Everglades.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving one in Miami?

You'll do great, even if it's your first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host provides a thorough walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, hookups, propane, slide-outs, and the dump tank, and you can message them anytime during your trip. For first-timers nervous about Miami traffic, choose delivery so the RV comes to you, or pick a Class B campervan or small travel trailer (under 25 feet) that drives much like a large SUV. Avoid I-95 at rush hour and stick to Florida's Turnpike heading south to the Keys for a smoother drive. Pro tip: do your first fuel stop at a Pilot or Flying J built for big rigs, easy in, easy out.

What happens if my RV breaks down on the way to the Keys?

You're covered: every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one call away whether you're on Card Sound Road or the Overseas Highway. The roadside team handles flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified service center. Your host is also just a message away for quick troubleshooting (sometimes it's as simple as resetting a GFCI outlet). Save both numbers in your phone before you leave West Little River. Pro tip: cell service can drop between Marathon and Key West, so screenshot the roadside number and your host's contact info before you head down US-1.

Can I take my RV rental across state lines from West Little River?

Yes, you can absolutely cross into Georgia, Alabama, and beyond on an RV road trip from West Little River. US travel within the lower 48 is standard with most hosts (just confirm in the listing or by message). Popular interstate routes include West Little River to Savannah (about 7.5 hours, 490 miles) and West Little River to New Orleans (about 13 hours, 870 miles). Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals due to insurance limitations, and the Bahamas isn't an option since you can't drive there. Canadian crossings may be possible with host approval for long itineraries. Pro tip: a 10-day loop up through St. Augustine and the Florida Panhandle is the ultimate winter escape.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What should I budget for fuel on a West Little River RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable cost, but it's predictable. Florida gas prices typically run in the $3 to $4 per gallon range, with diesel slightly higher. Class B campervans get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes around 8 to 12 MPG, and large Class A rigs 6 to 9 MPG. A round trip from West Little River to Key West (about 330 miles) in a Class C will run roughly $90 to $140 in fuel. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Pro tip: fuel up at Costco in Hialeah Gardens or Pembroke Pines before leaving town for the best per-gallon prices in Miami-Dade, then top off in Florida City before heading into the Keys where prices jump.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near West Little River?

For winter (December to April), book 6 to 11 months ahead, South Florida campgrounds fill up fast with snowbirds. Larry and Penny Thompson Park uses the Miami-Dade Parks reservation system and opens bookings up to 12 months out. Florida State Parks like Bahia Honda and John Pennekamp open reservations 11 months in advance through the Florida State Parks reservation system (set an alarm, popular sites disappear in minutes). National park sites in the Everglades book through Recreation.gov, typically 6 months ahead. For summer trips, 2 to 4 weeks is usually enough. Pro tip: weekday arrivals (Sunday to Wednesday) are far easier to score than Friday check-ins, even in peak season.

What are driving conditions like around West Little River?

Miami driving has a reputation, but with a few smart moves you'll be totally fine in an RV. West Little River sits just off the Palmetto Expressway (SR-826) and I-95, both busy from 7 to 9 AM and 4 to 7 PM, so plan departures outside those windows. Florida's Turnpike heading south to the Keys is the smoothest, least stressful route, expect tolls (use a SunPass-compatible transponder, many hosts provide one). Watch for low clearances on older Miami overpasses, and avoid downtown Miami and Miami Beach entirely in anything over 25 feet. Pro tip: South Florida summer thunderstorms hit hard between 2 and 5 PM, just pull off and wait 30 minutes, they pass quickly.
fdot.gov/traffic

What amenities do campgrounds near West Little River offer?

You'll find excellent infrastructure for RV camping in West Little River and across South Florida. Most local parks like Larry and Penny Thompson, Miami Everglades Resort, and Miami Everglades KOA Holiday offer full hookups (50/30 amp electric, fresh water, sewer), plus pools, laundry, Wi-Fi, and dump stations. Dump stations are also available at select Pilot/Flying J locations on the Turnpike. Potable water fills are easy at any full-hookup site, and most campgrounds sell propane on-site or have a Tractor Supply nearby. Pro tip: Everglades National Park's Flamingo Campground has a dump station and water fill, perfect for a quick refresh before heading back north to West Little River.
nps.gov/ever/planyourvisit/camping.htm

What's included inside a typical RV rental in West Little River?

You'll be amazed how well-stocked these rigs are. A typical campervan rental in West Little River or larger motorhome includes a queen or king bed, full kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave, sink, cookware), bathroom with shower and toilet, dinette, climate control (this is Florida, so AC is essential), and seatbelted seats for travel. Most include a generator for off-grid power, awning, outdoor chairs, and often a TV. Wi-Fi via hotspot is common but often an add-on. Linens, towels, and a kitchen kit are usually optional extras. Pro tip: in Miami's heat, confirm with the host that the AC runs on both shore power and generator, and ask about a second AC unit if you're renting a Class A in July or August.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=West%20Little%20River%2C%20Florida

What add-ons and pickup options should I expect?

Hosts in West Little River offer a great menu of add-ons to customize your trip: linens and towels ($30 to $75), kitchen kits ($25 to $50), camping chairs and outdoor gear, portable grills, generators (often included), Wi-Fi hotspots, bike racks, and SunPass toll transponders (a Florida must-have). Pickup is typically at the host's location in or near West Little River, with delivery available for a per-mile fee. Mileage policies usually run 100 to 150 free miles per day with extras at $0.30 to $0.50. Pro tip: bundle a SunPass and generator add-on if you're heading into the Everglades or planning beach days, you'll use both daily.
sunpass.com

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card when you book, never directly to the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately on your card (amount varies by RV) shortly before your trip starts and released after a clean return. Choosing a higher protection plan tier at checkout can reduce your out-of-pocket risk if something happens. To avoid deposit issues, do a thorough walkthrough video at pickup and dropoff, return the RV with the agreed fuel and propane levels, and dump tanks if required. Pro tip: South Florida sand gets everywhere, a quick rinse before return saves cleaning fees.
