I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

What happens if I need to cancel my Wimauma RV rental?

Booking an RV rental in Wimauma is low-risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy, not the individual host, and there is a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. If life happens, such as hurricane evacuations, illness, or work emergencies, the policy accounts for factors like how far out your trip start is and qualifying natural disasters (especially relevant during Florida's June 1 to November 30 hurricane season). Full details are available in the RVezy Help Center, and customer support is available before, during, and after every trip. Book the RV you love today and finalize plans with breathing room.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I know what to do?

You'll be in good hands. Choose a Class C motorhome or small travel trailer, as they are easier to drive than they look, and book a host who offers delivery so your first time behind the wheel can wait until you're confident. Your host is also a great first call for quick fixes, as most owners know their RV inside out and can troubleshoot common issues over the phone. Save the RVezy support number to your phone before you leave, then relax and enjoy the drive.

Can I take an RV rented in Wimauma into other states or Canada?

Yes, US interstate trips are fair game with most Wimauma hosts. Popular road trip from Wimauma options include heading north on I-95 toward the Smoky Mountains, west on I-10 to New Orleans (about 685 miles), or south to the Florida Keys (around 300 miles). Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and the protection plan you select, so message the host before booking to confirm. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because the protection plan does not extend across that border. Always confirm your route with the host, and look for listings that include unlimited mileage for longer hauls.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Wimauma RV trip?

Fuel is one of the biggest variables, but it's predictable once you know the numbers. Class C motorhomes around Wimauma typically average 8 to 10 MPG on gas, Class A motorhomes get 6 to 8 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (often 10 to 14 MPG). Florida gas prices generally hover around $3.00 to $3.50 per gallon, with Wawa, Buc-ee's, and RaceTrac stations along I-75 and US-301 often the cheapest. For a 5-day, 400-mile loop to Anna Maria Island and back in a Class C, budget roughly $140 to $180 in fuel. Use GasBuddy to find the best prices and fill up before entering toll roads where station prices can be higher.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Wimauma?

For Florida state parks like Little Manatee River, Hillsborough River, and Lake Manatee, you can book up to 11 months ahead through the Florida State Parks reservation system. Prime winter weekends can sell out quickly when the booking window opens. Private parks in and around Wimauma usually take reservations 6 to 12 months out, with snowbird season (January to March) being the tightest. For summer trips, you can often book 2 to 4 weeks ahead with plenty of choice. If your preferred park is full, keep checking, as Florida sites open up regularly due to cancellations, especially mid-week.

What's it like driving an RV around Wimauma and Tampa Bay?

Driving an RV around Wimauma is refreshingly mellow. US-301 and SR-674 are wide, flat, and rural, ideal for getting comfortable behind the wheel. I-75 and I-275 into Tampa get busier during weekday rush hours (roughly 7 to 9 AM and 4 to 6 PM), so plan to travel midday. The Sunshine Skyway Bridge on I-275 is stunning but exposed to crosswinds, so check the wind advisory before crossing in a tall Class A. Watch for sudden afternoon thunderstorms from June through September and slow down on wet pavement. Avoid low-clearance areas such as historic downtown Tampa parking garages and Ybor City side streets. Many Wimauma hosts deliver right to your campsite if city driving makes you nervous.
fdot.gov/

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Wimauma?

Campgrounds around Wimauma are well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Most private parks offer 30/50-amp full hookups (water, sewer, electric), Wi-Fi, laundry, pools, and propane refills on-site. Florida state parks like Little Manatee River and Lake Manatee provide water and 30-amp electric at sites plus centralized dump stations, with no sewer hookups at individual sites. Need to dump or fill water between stops? Many Flying J and Pilot stations along I-75 have public RV dump stations (usually $10 to $20). Arrive before 4 PM at state parks to give yourself daylight to set up, and bring a 25-foot drinking-water-rated hose plus a sewer hose with at least two elbows.

What's included inside a typical Wimauma RV rental?

Most RVs you'll rent in Wimauma come fully ready to roll. Expect a queen or king bed plus convertible dinette/sofa sleeping (rigs sleep 4 to 8 people), a kitchen with a fridge/freezer, three-burner propane stove, microwave, and sink, a wet or dry bathroom with toilet and shower, roof AC (essential in Florida), propane furnace, and often a TV. Many hosts include a generator for boondocking, outdoor camp chairs, leveling blocks, and a starter kit of dishes, linens, and toilet paper. Wi-Fi varies, as some hosts include a hotspot while others recommend you bring your own. Every seat used while driving has a seatbelt. Message the host to confirm linens, kitchen kit, and outdoor gear are included so you don't overpack.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Wimauma,%20Florida

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Wimauma hosts offer add-ons that make your trip easier. Popular extras include delivery and setup (typically a few dollars per mile), generator use (often a few dollars per hour beyond included hours), camping kits (chairs, table, grill), bike racks, kayaks, linens and towels, and pet cleaning fees. Mileage policies vary: many Wimauma hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per day with extras at roughly $0.30 to $0.50 per mile, while some offer unlimited mileage packages, great for an RV road trip from Wimauma to the Keys. Pickup is usually at the host's home in 33598, Sun City Center, or Ruskin. Bundle add-ons when you book to keep things organized and confirm totals upfront.

How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: when you book your campervan rental in Wimauma or any RV on RVezy, you pay through the platform with a credit card, with no cash changing hands with the host. A pre-authorization hold for the security deposit is placed on your card before pickup and released after a clean drop-off, separate from your booking payment. To avoid issues, do a thorough walk-around video with the host at pickup and again at return, respect the mileage and generator caps in your listing, dump and refill the tanks if required, and return the RV at the agreed time. Keep all fuel receipts, as some hosts require the tank returned full.
