Norman is fantastic to work with. We just completed our second trip with his van as repeat customers, and it was great yet again. He was incredibly responsive to our needs and questions, and was very flexible to our situation and always very accommodating. The van drives very well and was incredibly comfortable for our family of 4. Highly recommended!

You’re not going to get a better host than Bill or a nicer RV for that price point than this one! As a new RV user, we had a TON of questions before and during our trip. Bill could not have been easier to deal with and his communication was excellent throughout our rental. Bill made our trip trouble-free and AMAZING - Five stars all around for sure!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Tybee Island, GA
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Tybee Island, GA?
An RV rental in Tybee Island is often more affordable than peak-season beachfront hotels, especially for families. On RVezy, motorhomes near Tybee Island typically range from about $175 to $250 per night, while travel trailers and other towables usually run around $100 to $150 per night, and many hosts offer weekly or monthly discounts. To find a cheap RV rental Tybee Island, GA, target the shoulder months of March, April, and November, when nightly rates dip and the weather is still beach-friendly. Pairing a towable with host delivery and setup at River's End Campground is a popular way to beat hotel pricing for a family of four.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Tybee%20Island%2C%20GeorgiaWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Tybee Island, GA?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Tybee Island. Georgia does not require a special RV license or commercial driver's license for the Class A, Class C, campervan, and travel trailer rentals listed on RVezy. Renters generally need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID inside the booking platform so there is no extra paperwork. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit from your home country's auto association along with your valid license. Most first-time renters are surprised at how little prep the licensing side actually takes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs RV rental insurance and roadside help included on Tybee Island trips?
Every RV rental in Tybee Island booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you are never stranded on Highway 80 wondering who to call. You choose your protection level at checkout, and each plan covers eligible physical damage to the RV during your trip. It is not traditional auto insurance, it is a peer-to-peer rental protection plan designed specifically for RV trips. If you get a flat on the causeway between Savannah and Tybee Island or run into a hookup issue at the campground, one call to RVezy roadside assistance gets help on the way.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if my plans change after I book my Tybee Island RV rental?
You can book your Tybee Island RV trip with confidence because RVezy sets the cancellation policy, not individual hosts, and there is a grace period right after booking for a full refund. After that window, refund amounts depend on how far in advance you cancel, and the policy details are explained in the RVezy Help Center before you confirm. Atlantic hurricane season on the Georgia coast runs June 1 through November 30, and RVezy support works directly with renters when named storms or other major disruptions affect a trip. Locking in your dates early is low risk, and you can always message your host through the platform before deciding to cancel.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Tybee Island RV trip?
Yes, many hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental Tybee Island, GA listings, and you can use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see them instantly. One important local heads-up: dogs are not allowed on Tybee Island's public beaches, so plan your pup time around the island's leash-friendly green spaces at Memorial Park and Jaycee Park instead. River's End Campground welcomes leashed pets at RV sites. For longer leg-stretching, Skidaway Island State Park is about 30 minutes away and has dog-friendly trails winding through Spanish-moss-draped oaks, a great add-on for a coastal Georgia RV trip.
cityoftybee.org/DocumentCenter/View/108/Beach-Rules-and-Regulations-PDFCan the RV be delivered to my campground on Tybee Island?
Yes, RV delivery is one of the most popular options for a Tybee Island RV trip on RVezy, and it is ideal if it is your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to River's End Campground, the only campground on the island and about a half mile from North Beach, then level it, connect water and power, and walk you through everything before handing over the keys. Delivery is especially handy because overnight RV parking is not permitted on Tybee Island streets and public lots, so having the rig pre-positioned at a campsite removes the main logistical hurdle. Filter by Delivery on RVezy to see hosts who offer it.
cityoftybee.org/465/Parking-ServicesHow far can I drive on a Tybee Island RV trip?
You have serious range from Tybee Island, and most RVezy hosts include a daily mileage allowance with the option to add miles at booking. Tybee makes a great launchpad for an RV road trip from Tybee Island: historic downtown Savannah is about 18 miles west, Hilton Head Island is around 45 miles north, Charleston is roughly 110 miles up the coast, Jacksonville is about 140 miles south, and the Okefenokee Swamp is around 175 miles southwest. Some hosts even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is a smart pick for a longer coastal loop. Always review the listing's mileage policy before booking, and message the host directly if you are planning a bigger itinerary.
visitsavannah.com/article/getting-tybee-islandWhere should I stay when RV camping in Tybee Island?
You have one excellent on-island option and several strong backups within a short drive. River's End Campground and RV Park, at 5 Fort Avenue, is the only campground on Tybee Island itself, offering full-hookup sites, a pool, laundry, and a short walk to North Beach. If River's End is full, Skidaway Island State Park is about 30 minutes away and offers wooded sites with electric and water hookups beneath live oaks, while CreekFire RV Resort and Savannah Oaks RV Resort sit 20 to 30 minutes inland with full hookups and pools. For the best campgrounds near Tybee Island in summer, book River's End three to six months ahead because dates sell out fast.
gastateparks.org/SkidawayIslandWhen is the best time of year to rent an RV in Tybee Island?
The sweet spot for an RV camping Tybee Island trip is mid-March through mid-May and mid-October through late November, when highs typically sit in the 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit, humidity eases, and peak-summer crowds thin out. Spring brings the Beach Bum Parade and SCAD Sand Arts Festival, while October hosts the popular Tybee Island Pirate Festival. Summers from June through August are hot and humid with frequent afternoon thunderstorms and July highs near 90 degrees, though steady oceanfront breezes help. Winters are mild in the 50s to 60s and quiet, and City of Tybee parking rates drop in the off-season, an underrated perk for budget-minded travelers.
weather.gov/chs/I have never driven an RV before. How does pickup work on Tybee Island?
First-time renters do this all the time, and RVezy hosts on Tybee Island are experienced at making pickup easy. At handover, your host walks you through the entire rig: how to dump tanks, switch the fridge between propane and electric, operate the slide-outs and awning, and hook up water, power, and sewer at the campsite. They will answer every question, share tips for driving the causeway and parking at River's End Campground, and many hosts also offer delivery and setup directly to your campsite if you would rather skip driving the RV yourself. Message your host through RVezy ahead of pickup with any questions, and you will arrive ready to enjoy your Tybee Island RV trip.
