The success of platforms like RVezy depends on people, not just campers. We found in Lena a host who was quick to respond, thorough, accommodating and pleasant. Arranging for pickup was easy, and her complete walkthrough of towing hookup and campground setup was very helpful. She has the unit fully outfitted with everything needed for sleeping, cooking and showering, etc. We had set aside a number of items to bring that we were able to leave at home. There's even a red binder inside with instructions for all the systems, While the camper is a couple years old, it's really only the outside that shows any minor wear from normal exposure to the elements. Everything worked as we needed it to. In all, this was a great solution for our annual group camping trip, this year to Willow River State Park. Highly recommend this host.

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Blaine, MN?

RV rental in Blaine is affordable thanks to a strong supply of local hosts across the north Twin Cities metro. Expect roughly $80 to $150 per night for travel trailers, $125 to $225 for Class C motorhomes, and $200 to $350 for larger Class A coaches. Booking midweek or in the shoulder months of May and September can shave 15 to 25 percent off peak summer pricing, and many Blaine hosts offer multi-night and weekly discounts visible right on the listing. Pro tip: if you are flexible on RV type, filter by Instant Book to see which Blaine owners are ready to confirm quickly, often at the best value.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Blaine, Minnesota?

Good news: for nearly every RV rental in Blaine, your regular Class D Minnesota driver's license (or any standard U.S. or international equivalent) is all you need. Minnesota's Class D license covers vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,000 pounds or less, which includes virtually every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, travel trailer, and fifth wheel on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and your ID is verified through the platform so pickup is quick. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're ready to roll.

What protection comes with my Blaine RV rental?

Every RV rental in Blaine automatically includes an RVezy protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the road with peace of mind. The protection plan covers most physical damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage tier at checkout (not the host) to match your comfort level and budget. While this isn't traditional auto insurance, it offers substantial financial protection for renters and is built specifically for peer-to-peer RV trips. Pro tip: first-time renters heading into Minnesota's lake country often pick the middle or top protection tier for extra confidence.

What is the cancellation policy if my Blaine RV trip plans change?

You can book your Blaine RV rental with confidence: RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy, and it includes a full money-back grace period right after booking so you have breathing room to firm up plans. Refund amounts after the grace period depend on how far in advance you cancel, and added protections apply for major disruptions, which matters in Minnesota where spring storms and early-season snow can occasionally affect travel. Pro tip: review the cancellation terms on the RVezy Help Center before booking, and message your host early if your plans shift.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Blaine?

Yes, RV delivery in Blaine is one of the most popular options on the platform, especially for first-time renters. Many Blaine and north-metro hosts will drive the RV directly to your campground (Bunker Hills or Minneapolis Northwest KOA are common drop-offs), to a driveway, or to a festival site, then set it up, level it, hook up power, and walk you through every system before leaving. Use the Delivery filter to see which listings offer it, and check each host's delivery radius and per-mile fee. Pro tip: delivery to Bunker Hills Campground in nearby Andover is often under 10 miles, keeping the fee very reasonable.

Minneapolis Northwest KOA in Maple Grove gives you full hookups and a pool about 20 minutes southwest. Father Hennepin State Park on Mille Lacs Lake (around 90 miles north) is a classic Minnesota destination. When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Blaine?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Blaine runs from late May through early October, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70 to 83 degree range and area campgrounds like Bunker Hills and Rice Creek are fully open. July brings the longest days (over 15 hours of daylight) and warm lake-swimming weather, while September delivers fewer mosquitoes, cooler nights, and the start of beautiful fall color along the St. Croix and up the North Shore. Winter rentals (December to February) are limited because most Minnesota campgrounds close, but a few hosts offer four-season rigs for ice-fishing trips. Pro tip: book June through August at least 6 to 8 weeks ahead, the Twin Cities market moves fast.

I've never rented an RV before. What support will I get in Blaine?

First time renting an RV? You'll be in great hands in Blaine. Every host provides an in-person orientation at pickup, walking you through the generator, slide-outs, water systems, propane, awning, dump valves, and how to level the rig, usually 30 to 60 minutes so you can ask anything. Most Blaine hosts also share a written cheat sheet and are reachable by text the whole trip. Behind them, RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after every booking, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included with your protection plan. Pro tip: start with a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for your first Blaine RV trip, they drive a lot like a big truck.

What happens if I have a problem on the road during my Minnesota RV trip?

You're never on your own when you rent an RV in Minnesota. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance covering flat tires, lockouts, dead batteries, towing, and most common breakdowns, day or night. If something more specific to the rig comes up (the awning, a slide-out, the fridge), message your host directly from the app, Blaine-area hosts typically respond within minutes and know their RV inside and out. RVezy customer support is also reachable throughout your trip. Pro tip: save your host's number, the roadside line, and Minnesota's 511 traveler info system in your phone for live conditions on I-35W and I-694 before you pull away.

Can I take my Blaine RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, an RV road trip from Blaine across state lines is welcome, and RVezy coverage applies throughout the U.S. and, with host approval, into Canada, which is roughly 300 miles north at the International Falls border crossing. Popular routes include Wisconsin's Apostle Islands (about 4 hours east), South Dakota's Badlands and Black Hills (8 to 9 hours west), and the Canadian side of Lake Superior. Travel into Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals because coverage doesn't extend there. Pro tip: tell your host your route when booking, especially for Canada trips, so they can confirm coverage and share favorite stops along the way.

How should I budget for fuel on a Blaine RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost on your Minnesota RV trip, so plan smart. Most Class B campervans get 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A coaches 6 to 10 MPG. Minnesota gas prices typically run close to the national average, and you'll find competitive diesel at the Holiday and Kwik Trip stations all along Highway 65 and University Avenue in Blaine. For a 300-mile round trip to Duluth in a Class C, budget roughly $90 to $130 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Blaine before heading north, prices climb noticeably once you pass Hinckley on I-35.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Blaine?

For the best campgrounds near Blaine, the earlier the better. Anoka County's reservation system for Bunker Hills and Rice Creek campgrounds opens in early spring for the upcoming season, and prime summer weekends often fill within days. Minnesota state parks (William O'Brien, Interstate, Wild River, all under 90 minutes from Blaine) can be reserved up to 120 days in advance through the Minnesota DNR's reservation system, and Friday/Saturday nights in July go fastest. Private parks like Minneapolis Northwest KOA usually have more availability on shorter notice. Pro tip: if your dates are locked, book your campsite first, then book your RV, the campground is the harder reservation to get.

What are the driving conditions like around Blaine?

Driving an RV around Blaine is very manageable, even for first-timers. The city sits right on Highway 65 and Interstate 35W with wide lanes and gentle terrain, no mountain passes, steep grades, or narrow canyon roads to worry about. Watch for rush-hour congestion on I-35W and I-694 between 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. heading into Minneapolis, and keep an eye out for deer at dawn and dusk on rural stretches north of town. In winter, Minnesota roads can ice quickly, which is why most rental season runs spring through fall. Pro tip: check the MnDOT 511 system before any drive over an hour for live road and weather updates.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds around Blaine?

Campgrounds near Blaine cover the full spectrum. Bunker Hills Regional Park offers 50-amp and 30-amp electric plus water hookups at many sites, modern shower buildings, flush toilets, and a dump station. Minneapolis Northwest KOA has full hookups (water, electric, sewer), Wi-Fi, a pool, and laundry. State parks like William O'Brien and Interstate offer electric sites and shared dump stations but typically no sewer at the site. Most parks have potable water fill stations and a centrally located dump station. Pro tip: there's a public dump and freshwater fill at the Bunker Hills Campground in Andover, perfect for a quick stop on your way back from a north-woods trip.

What's typically included inside a Blaine RV rental?

Most motorhome rentals in Blaine come fully equipped so you can pull in and start camping. Expect a queen or king bed plus convertible dinette/sofa beds (sleeping 4 to 8), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, a roof-mounted air conditioner, a furnace, and seatbelts for everyone on board. Many Blaine rigs add a generator, outdoor speakers, a flat-screen TV, and a backup camera, and a growing number offer Wi-Fi or a mobile hotspot. Pro tip: check the listing's amenities list and message the host if you need anything specific (a Pack 'n Play, fishing gear, or a grill), most are happy to include it.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Blaine,Minnesota

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Blaine hosts make your RV trip easy with optional add-ons: bedding and linen packs (typically $25 to $75), kitchen kits, generator use, propane refills, bike racks, kayak racks, outdoor camping chairs, and even pre-stocked firewood. Pickup is typically at the host's home in Blaine, Coon Rapids, Andover, or Ham Lake, and RV delivery in Blaine is widely available for a per-mile fee. Mileage policies vary, some listings include 100 miles per night free, others go unlimited, so check the listing details. Pro tip: pickup between 1 and 3 p.m. gives you daylight to drive to your first campground and set up before sunset.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Blaine,Minnesota

How does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Minnesota?

Payment is straightforward and handled entirely through RVezy's secure platform, no cash and no checks to the host. You'll pay the rental total at booking with a credit or debit card, and a refundable security deposit (typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV) is pre-authorized on your card before pickup. As long as you return the RV in the condition you received it and within the agreed mileage, the hold is released after your trip. Pro tip: snap a walkaround video at pickup and dropoff, it's the easiest way to avoid disputes and keep your full deposit.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

How do I handle Minnesota winter and cold weather if I'm renting an RV from Blaine?

Minnesota winters are serious (January lows in Blaine can dip below zero), but cold-weather RV trips are doable with the right rig. Filter for four-season or winterized RVs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and a strong propane furnace, then plan to stay at a campground with shore power so you can run electric heat as a backup. Ice-fishing trips on Mille Lacs Lake are a true Minnesota tradition, and a few Blaine hosts cater to anglers with delivery to lake access points. Pro tip: keep the heat on low overnight, leave a cabinet door under the sink open, and let a faucet drip to help protect pipes in deep cold.
