Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Jordan, MN
How much does an RV rental in Jordan, MN typically cost?
An RV rental in Jordan is one of the more affordable ways to explore the Minnesota River Valley and Twin Cities area. On RVezy, expect roughly $95 to $165 per night for travel trailers, $150 to $250 for Class C motorhomes, and $225 to $375 for larger Class A coaches. Since hosts set their own rates, you can find cheap RV rental Jordan options by booking mid-week or in the shoulder months of May and late September. Pro tip: campgrounds near Jordan book up fast during Renaissance Festival weekends (late August through September), so locking in your RV early can save both money and stress.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Jordan,MinnesotaWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Jordan, MN?
A regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Jordan. Minnesota does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes, travel trailers, or campervans you will find on RVezy. RVezy approved drivers are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and the platform verifies your ID during checkout, so there is no extra paperwork at pickup. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit. Most first-time renters are pleasantly surprised at how simple the process is, leaving more time to plan a Jordan RV trip down US Highway 169.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs protection included when I rent an RV in Jordan, MN?
Yes, every RV rental in Jordan booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Highway 169 with peace of mind. RVezy offers multiple protection tiers, and you (not the host) choose the coverage level that fits your trip during checkout. Each plan covers physical damage to the RV during your rental, with different deductibles and limits depending on the tier you select. Pro tip: review the tiers side-by-side at checkout to find the right balance of coverage and price before heading to the Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area or Mystic Lake.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Jordan, MN RV rental?
Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets a standard cancellation policy that applies to all bookings (it is not chosen by individual hosts), and it includes a grace-period window after booking during which you can cancel for a full refund. Refund eligibility after that grace period depends on how far in advance of your trip you cancel. The exact terms are shown on the RVezy Help Center and apply to every booking. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best RV rental in Jordan, knowing you have a built-in cancellation window if your plans shift.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Jordan, MN?
Yes, plenty of pet-friendly RV rental Jordan options are available on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search and you will see hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) in their rigs. Once you are rolling, the Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area right in Jordan allows leashed pets on trails and at most campsites, and Lebanon Hills Regional Park in nearby Eagan is another favorite with miles of dog-friendly trails. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fees and to mention your dog's size, so everyone starts the trip on the same paw.
dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/pets.htmlCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Jordan, MN?
Yes, RV delivery Jordan is offered by many hosts on RVezy, which is a game-changer if it is your first time renting an RV. Filter your search by Delivery and you will see hosts who can drop the rig at the Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area, a local private campground, or even your driveway. They will level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Delivery fees usually scale with distance, so a drop within 20 to 30 miles of Jordan is typically the most affordable. Pro tip: ask for delivery the day before so you can settle in unhurried.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037965414-What-is-RV-deliveryHow far can I drive on a Jordan, MN RV trip, and is unlimited mileage available?
You have real range from Jordan. Many hosts include a daily mileage allowance (often 100 to 150 miles per day), and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is perfect for longer loops through Minnesota and Wisconsin. From Jordan you are about 35 miles to downtown Minneapolis, 90 miles to Rochester, 155 miles to Duluth and Lake Superior's North Shore, 245 miles to the Boundary Waters gateway in Ely, and 270 miles to the Wisconsin Dells. Every listing clearly displays its mileage policy and per-mile overage rate, so there are no surprises. Pro tip: filter by unlimited mileage if you are planning a North Shore loop, where scenic detours add up fast.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Jordan,MinnesotaWhere are the best campgrounds near Jordan, MN?
You are spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Jordan start with the Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area, offering wooded sites along the Minnesota River right in town. Lake Auburn Campground at Carver Park Reserve in Victoria offers regional-park serenity on a beautiful lake. Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan has lake-side sites within easy reach, and Lake Byllesby Regional Park in Cannon Falls is another scenic option about 45 minutes south. Pro tip: Minnesota state park sites are reservable up to 120 days in advance through the Minnesota DNR, so book early for summer weekends.
dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/park.html?id=spk00253When is the best time of year for RV camping in Jordan, MN?
Late May through early October is the sweet spot for RV camping Jordan, with daytime highs ranging from the mid-60s°F in May to the mid-80s°F in July, and crisp 60s°F in late September. June through August is peak season with warm nights ideal for campfires, while September brings fall colors along the Minnesota River bluffs and far fewer mosquitoes. Winter RV rentals are possible with cold-weather-ready rigs, but most renters stick to the May through October window. Pro tip: target the second half of September. The Renaissance Festival is still running, leaves are turning, and campground rates often dip after Labor Day.
weather.gov/mpx/I'm first time renting an RV. Will I actually know how to use it?
You will be in great shape. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup (or at delivery) covering the generator, propane, slide-outs, water system, dump procedure, and driving tips. Most first-timers feel confident within 20 minutes. The roads around Jordan are RV-friendly: US Highway 169, County Road 9, and the routes to the Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area are wide, flat, and easy to navigate. You can also message your host any time during the trip with questions, and RVezy's support team has your back. Pro tip: for your first night, pick a close-in spot so you can practice systems in comfort before heading farther afield.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360003065073-RentersWhat if something goes wrong with the RV on the road?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering flat tires, lockouts, battery jumps, fuel delivery, and towing. From Jordan you are within quick reach of service centers in Shakopee, Burnsville, and Bloomington, so help arrives fast even on a Sunday. You can also message your host directly through the RVezy app for tips on quirks specific to their rig. Pro tip: before you leave the driveway, save the roadside assistance number and your host's contact info on your phone so it is instantly accessible, even with spotty signal along the Minnesota River bluffs.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityCan I take an RV road trip from Jordan, MN across state lines or into Canada?
Yes. An RV road trip from Jordan opens up the entire Upper Midwest. You can cross into Wisconsin in under an hour for the Apostle Islands or Wisconsin Dells, head south to Iowa's Effigy Mounds in about three hours, or run the route to Lake Superior's North Shore. Canada is possible via the International Falls or Grand Portage crossings (about 5 to 7 hours north), but confirm with your host since not all rigs are approved for cross-border travel, and you will need a valid passport. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: message hosts before booking if Canada is on your itinerary.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008794-Travelling-across-the-border-with-your-RV-rentalWhat kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?
Plan smart and you will stretch your trip. Class B campervan rental Jordan options typically get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and larger Class A coaches usually run 6 to 10 MPG. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Minnesota gas prices have generally been in the $3 to $3.50 per gallon range recently, and you will find stations with RV-friendly pumps in Shakopee, Belle Plaine, and along US Highway 169. For a 300-mile weekend loop in a Class C, budget roughly $90 to $135 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Jordan or Belle Plaine before heading north, as prices climb a bit in tourist towns up by Duluth.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far ahead should I book a campground near Jordan, MN?
Book early and you will lock in the best spots. Minnesota state parks, including the Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area in Jordan, accept reservations up to 120 days in advance through the Minnesota DNR online system, and popular summer weekends genuinely sell out at the 120-day mark. Private parks take reservations year-round and fill up fastest during Renaissance Festival weekends (late August through September) and the Fourth of July. A small online reservation fee applies for state park bookings. Pro tip: set a calendar alert exactly 120 days before your target date and log in at 8 a.m. Central for the best site selection.
dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/reservations.htmlWhat are driving conditions like around Jordan, MN?
Driving an RV around Jordan is refreshingly straightforward. US Highway 169 runs right past town with wide lanes, gentle grades, and plenty of pull-off areas, making it easy even for first-timers. The Minnesota River Valley has a few rolling hills and the occasional sharp curve on county roads, but nothing like mountain driving. Watch for heavier traffic on Renaissance Festival weekends in late summer. Winter brings snow and ice from late November through March, so most renters stick to May through October. Pro tip: avoid driving into downtown Minneapolis (low bridges, tight streets); park in Jordan or at a suburban Park and Ride and use transit into the city.
511mn.org/Where can I dump tanks and fill fresh water near Jordan, MN?
You have easy options. The Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area in Jordan has a dump station and potable water fill available to registered campers, and most Minnesota state park campgrounds in the region include dump stations free for campers. Many private parks offer 30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups directly at the site. Pro tip: top off fresh water before leaving your campground rather than at gas stations, since RV-friendly water spigots can be hit or miss along rural Highway 169 corridors. Plan one dump and refill every 3 to 4 days for a family of four.
dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/camping.htmlWhat amenities can I expect inside a motorhome rental in Jordan, MN?
You will be comfortable. A typical motorhome rental Jordan comes with sleeping for 4 to 8 (depending on size), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, an indoor bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control with both furnace and air conditioning, dinette and lounge seating with seatbelts for travel, and a flat-screen TV in most rigs. Many hosts also include a generator (great for boondocking near the Minnesota River), outdoor speakers, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Bedding, cookware, and camp chairs are commonly included; check the listing's amenities section. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count for your group size, then read the amenities list carefully so you only pay for the features you will actually use.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Jordan,MinnesotaWhat add-ons and pickup options are typical for RV rentals in Jordan, MN?
Hosts in Jordan make customizing easy. Popular add-ons include bed and bath linen kits, kitchen packages, portable grills, outdoor mats, bike racks, generators with fuel, and pet cleaning fees. Many offer delivery to the Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area or to your driveway, which is a lifesaver for a family RV trip Jordan where you would rather skip the driving lessons. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Jordan, Shakopee, Belle Plaine, or Prior Lake, with a 30 to 60 minute orientation. Mileage policies are listed clearly on each listing. Pro tip: bundle linens and a generator on your first booking; the small upfront cost saves a Target run later.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Jordan,MinnesotaHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payments are simple and secure. When you book your RV rental Minnesota through RVezy, you pay through the platform using a credit or debit card; the host never handles your payment directly. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment and is pre-authorized on your card before pickup, then released after the trip once the rig is returned in good condition per the listing's terms. Pro tip: do a thorough walk-around photo or video at both pickup and drop-off and share it via the RVezy message thread. That simple step keeps deposit returns smooth and avoids any back-and-forth after your Jordan adventure wraps up.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I rent an RV in Jordan, MN during winter?
Yes, winter RV camping in Jordan is an option for adventurous renters. Some RVezy hosts list four-season rigs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and reliable propane furnaces that handle Minnesota's deep cold (January lows typically run from around 5 to 15°F). You will want a campground with electric shore power so the furnace can run efficiently. Winter unlocks experiences like ice fishing on Prior Lake, snowshoeing in the Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area, and quiet starlit nights along the river. Pro tip: filter for winter-ready RVs, message the host about cold-weather prep, and travel with extra propane plus a heated drinking-water hose for trouble-free hookups.
