We had an amazing experience renting this camper van for the weekend! The van was clean, comfortable, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. It easily carried all of our gear, including a cooler and fishing poles, with plenty of room to spare. It truly had all the comforts of home—and more. From the kitchen essentials to the camping accessories, everything was provided, making our trip easy and enjoyable. Mark, the owner, was fantastic to work with. He took the time to thoroughly show us how to operate the van and explained all of its features and accessories before we left. His attention to detail and willingness to answer our questions made us feel confident and well prepared for our trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better rental experience. If you’re looking for a well-equipped camper van and an owner who genuinely cares about his renters, we highly recommend renting from Mark. We would definitely rent from him again!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Little Silver, NJ

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Little Silver, NJ?

Good news: an RV rental in Little Silver is often more affordable than you would expect for a Jersey Shore vacation. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $100 to $175 per night, campervans run about $150 to $250, and larger Class C motorhomes range from about $200 to $350 nightly. Since hosts set their own pricing, you can filter by your budget to find a cheap RV rental in Little Silver. Pro tip: shoulder seasons like May and September often bring lower rates than peak July and August, plus quieter beaches at Sandy Hook and Sea Bright just minutes away. Booking midweek can stretch your budget even further.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Little Silver?

A standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Little Silver. New Jersey does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) for personal-use RVs under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every motorhome and travel trailer on RVezy. You just need to be an approved driver (generally 25 or older) and complete a quick ID verification through the RVezy platform during booking. Visiting from overseas? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit and you are set. Most first-time renters in Monmouth County are surprised by how simple the paperwork really is, leaving you free to focus on the drive to the Shore.

Is my RV rental protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, peace of mind is built into every RVezy booking. Every RV rental in Little Silver includes a protection plan that covers accidental damage to the RV plus 24/7 roadside assistance, whether you are along the Jersey Shore or beyond. During checkout you choose the protection level that fits your trip, so the decision is yours, not the host's. This is not traditional auto insurance, but it provides substantial financial protection so you can cross the Driscoll Bridge or cruise down the Garden State Parkway with confidence. Pro tip: review each protection tier carefully at checkout to pick the right fit for your Little Silver RV trip.

What if I need to cancel my Little Silver RV rental?

You can book with confidence because RVezy, not individual hosts, sets the cancellation policy across the platform, so every rent an RV in Little Silver booking follows the same fair terms. There is a grace period after booking during which you can receive a full refund, and refund eligibility beyond that depends on how far out from your trip you cancel. If something unexpected comes up, including weather events that occasionally affect the Jersey Shore, RVezy's support team is reachable to help you sort it out. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best Shore rigs, knowing a clear, platform-wide policy is on your side.

Just use the Pet-Friendly filter when searching for a pet-friendly RV rental in Little Silver and you will see hosts who welcome dogs (some allow cats too). Once you are in town, you have great options nearby: Sandy Hook's Gateway National Recreation Area allows leashed pets on beaches outside the protected summer season, and Hartshorne Woods Park in Middletown offers miles of dog-friendly trails just a short drive from Little Silver. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fees and share your dog's size, breed and age. It is a fast way to start the trip on a friendly note.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Little Silver?

Yes, RV delivery in Little Silver is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it is a game-changer if it is your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will drive the rig directly to your driveway, a nearby campground, or a Jersey Shore destination like Allaire State Park or Cheesequake State Park. They will level it, hook up water and electric, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Just use the Delivery filter when searching. Pro tip: delivery fees are typically based on mileage from the host's location, so picking a host close to Monmouth County usually means the best rate.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Little Silver?

Late spring through early fall is prime time for RV camping in Little Silver, with each season offering something different. May and June bring mild temperatures (roughly 60-78 F), blooming trees, and quieter campgrounds. July and August are peak Jersey Shore season with highs typically in the mid-80s and warm Atlantic waters perfect for Sandy Hook beach days. September and October are the local insider favorite: comfortable 65-75 F days, smaller crowds, fall foliage in the Navesink Highlands, and often lower rental rates. Winter rentals are possible for hardy travelers, with temps often in the 30s and 40s. Pro tip: book Shore-area RVs early if you want July or August dates.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

You've got this, and you will not be doing it alone. First time renting an RV is something every RVezy host handles regularly. Before you drive off, your host gives you a full walkthrough covering driving tips, dumping tanks, leveling, propane, and the electrical system, and they are just a text away during your trip. From Little Silver, the surrounding roads are RV-friendly: the Garden State Parkway and Route 18 are wide and well-marked, and Sandy Hook's roads are flat and easy. Pro tip: if you are nervous about driving, book a host who offers delivery so the RV arrives ready-to-go at your campground.

What happens if I break down during my trip?

Do not worry: 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every RVezy booking as part of the protection plan. Whether you have a flat tire on the Garden State Parkway, a dead battery at a campground, or a mechanical hiccup heading toward Cape May, one call gets help dispatched. Your host is also reachable to troubleshoot smaller issues like tripped breakers or a finicky water pump, and RVezy's customer support team is available around the clock. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number and your host's contact info to your phone before pickup, and snap a quick photo of the RV's VIN and license plate so you are set for a smooth Jersey Shore adventure.

Can I take an RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes. Cross-state travel is fine on most RVezy bookings, which is great since Little Silver is within easy reach of New York (NYC is about 55 miles north), Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and beyond. Many guests use Little Silver as the launchpad for an East Coast loop. Canada trips may be allowed depending on the host and the protection package you select, so confirm with the host before booking if you are planning to cross the border. One important note: travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental. Pro tip: a classic 7-day route from Little Silver hits the Poconos, Niagara Falls, and the Finger Lakes for about 1,000 round-trip miles of pure scenery.

What kind of fuel mileage will I get, and what should I budget for gas?

Fuel costs are manageable when you plan ahead. Campervans on RVezy typically deliver 18-22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8-12 MPG, larger Class A rigs 6-10 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (often 10-14 MPG combined). New Jersey gas prices vary, so check current rates before your trip to estimate accurately. For a 300-mile weekend in a Class C, plan for roughly 25-40 gallons of fuel. Pro tip: skip Garden State Parkway service plazas, which often run higher per gallon, and fuel up at local stations in places like Eatontown or Hazlet instead.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Little Silver?

Plan ahead and you will lock in the best spots. For Monmouth County summer weekends (Memorial Day through Labor Day), book campgrounds 2-3 months out, especially for July 4th and Labor Day. State park campgrounds like Allaire and Cheesequake use the New Jersey state park reservation system and release sites months in advance. Turkey Swamp Park in Freehold takes reservations through Monmouth County Parks. Private parks like Pine Cone in Freehold often book up by April for peak summer. For September and October trips, 3-4 weeks ahead is usually plenty. Pro tip: midweek arrivals are easier to book, often cheaper, and you will have the bathhouse to yourself.

What are the local driving conditions like in and around Little Silver?

Driving an RV around Little Silver is more relaxed than you might expect for the New York metro area. The borough itself sits in central Monmouth County with quiet residential streets, and you can quickly reach the Garden State Parkway (Exit 109) and Route 35, both well-suited to RV travel. Watch posted bridge clearances along Route 35 near the Shrewsbury River, and avoid the narrow Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge in larger Class A rigs (use the Route 36 Highlands Bridge instead). Summer Shore traffic is heavy on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings. Pro tip: head out before 9 a.m. or after 7 p.m. on summer weekends, and use a live traffic app to dodge the worst Parkway backups.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Little Silver?

You will be well taken care of at local campgrounds. Most RV-friendly parks in the Little Silver area offer water and electric hookups (30/50 amp), with full sewer hookups available at private parks like Pine Cone Resort and Tip Tam Camping Resort. State parks like Allaire and Cheesequake have dump stations and potable water fill stations on-site. Hot showers, laundry, and camp stores are standard at private parks, and many also offer Wi-Fi. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot fresh-water hose and a 30-amp-to-15-amp adapter and you will be ready for almost any hookup situation across the Shore region.

Many include perks like Wi-Fi boosters, solar panels, outdoor TVs, generators, and bikes. Each listing details its exact specs and seatbelted seating capacity, so you know exactly what is onboard before booking. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count and check the listing's amenity list, then message the host with any specific questions, whether about a coffee maker, a baby-safe space, or beach chair storage for Sandy Hook.

How does the security deposit and payment work?

Payment is simple and secure through RVezy. You pay your full booking total (rental rate, fees, taxes, and chosen protection package) via credit or debit card at the time of booking, with no cash exchanged with the host. A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card before pickup, then released after the trip provided no damage or extra fees apply. To avoid hiccups, do a thorough walkaround with the host at both pickup and dropoff, taking photos and videos. Pro tip: return the RV with the tanks emptied, the fuel topped off, and the interior clean. That is the surest way to get your full deposit back quickly.
