2019 Forest River Travel Trailer
There was a grounding issue between the 5000W inverter and the trailer. Ryan (trailer owner) was very responsive when contacted, troubleshot the issue quickly, kept the communication during the rental period great, and was very flexible with delivery and pickup. I was very impressed with my rental experience with Ryan I would rent from him again

2018 Travel Trailer
David was absolutely incredible to work with. He truly saved our family vacation weekend to the Dover NASCAR races, when our other RV reservation cancelled at the last minute. David was extremely prompt with his responses and was so accommodating with drop off and pick up and everything was amazing with the RV. My family and I are extremely grateful for David and our experience with RVezy.

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Salem, NJ?
Renting an RV in Salem, NJ is more affordable than you might think, with travel trailers averaging around $120 per night and motorhomes around $200 per night on RVezy. Class B campervans and smaller travel trailers are the budget sweet spot, while larger Class A and Class C motorhomes cost more because they sleep bigger groups. visitsalemcountynj.com/Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Salem, NJ?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Salem, NJ. New Jersey does not require a special license, endorsement, or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for personal RVs under 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), which covers virtually every RV listed on RVezy. You'll also need to be 25 or older and verify your ID through the RVezy platform during booking, which takes just a few minutes. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home license. That's it, no RV school, no road test, no extra paperwork before you hit Route 49 toward the Delaware Bayshore.
nj.gov/mvc/license/driverlicense.htmWhat protection is included with my Salem, NJ RV rental?
Every RV rental in Salem, NJ booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the road with real peace of mind. You choose your protection level at checkout (not the host), picking the tier that matches your comfort and budget. The plan covers physical damage to the RV during your trip up to the limits of the tier you select. Pro tip: review the coverage tiers carefully before confirming, especially if you are planning a longer New Jersey RV trip across multiple state parks, and keep all communication inside RVezy so claims are easy to process.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Salem, NJ RV booking?
Life happens, and RVezy makes it low-risk to book your Salem RV rental. RVezy sets the cancellation policy across the platform (it is not host-defined), and there is a money-back grace period right after booking so you can lock in your dates with confidence. Refund amounts after the grace period depend on how far out from your trip you cancel. If a host cancels on you, RVezy will refund you or provide travel credit so your plans are protected. Pro tip: book early to secure the best RV for your dates, then message the host with any questions during the grace window.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Salem, NJ RV trip?
Absolutely, Salem is a great dog destination and finding a pet-friendly RV rental in Salem, NJ is easy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see hosts who welcome four-legged passengers (some charge a small pet fee or require extra cleaning). Once you're on the road, Parvin State Park in nearby Pittsgrove allows leashed dogs on its 15 miles of trails and on designated pet-friendly campsites (proof of current rabies vaccination required at check-in). Supawna Meadows National Wildlife Refuge just outside Salem also welcomes leashed pups on its wildlife drive. Pro tip: pack a tick check kit, the Pine Barrens edge is gorgeous but ticks are active spring through fall.
dep.nj.gov/parksandforests/state-park/parvin-state-park/Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Salem, NJ?
Yes, RV delivery in Salem, NJ is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to your campsite at Four Seasons Family Campground in Pittsgrove, Tall Pines Harbor Campground, or Parvin State Park, then level it, hook up water and electric, and walk you through every system before they leave. Delivery fees are typically based on round-trip mileage from the host's location. Pro tip: filter listings by Delivery and message the host with your campground name, they will quote you a flat rate and you can skip towing entirely on your first New Jersey RV trip.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Salem%2C%20New%20JerseyHow far can I drive on an RV rental from Salem, NJ?
You've got plenty of road to explore from Salem. Most hosts include a daily mileage allowance (often 100 to 150 miles per day) with affordable per-mile rates after that, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is perfect for longer loops. Popular RV road trips from Salem include Cape May (about 75 miles south, 1.5 hours), Atlantic City (60 miles east, 1 hour), Philadelphia (45 miles north, 1 hour), the Pine Barrens at Wharton State Forest (40 miles east), and the Brandywine Valley in Delaware (35 miles west). Pro tip: filter for unlimited mileage listings if you're planning a week-long loop through Cape May and the Jersey Shore.
visitnj.org/region/delaware-riverWhere are the best campgrounds near Salem, NJ?
Some of the best campgrounds near Salem, NJ are within a short drive and offer everything from full hookups to lakeside sites. Top picks include Four Seasons Family Campground in Pittsgrove (full hookups with 30/50-amp service, pool, and lake access), Tall Pines Harbor Campground in Elmer (family-friendly with full hookups), Parvin State Park's Jaggers Point and Thundergust Lake campgrounds (RV sites on Parvin Lake, no hookups but with a dump station and potable water), and Old Cedar Campground in Monroeville. Pro tip: state park sites are the best value if you are comfortable dry camping, and many private parks offer pull-through sites that make first-time setup easy.
dep.nj.gov/parksandforests/state-park/parvin-state-park/When is the best time to visit Salem, NJ in an RV?
The sweet spot for RV camping in Salem, NJ runs from late April through October, with May, June, September, and early October offering the most comfortable mix of mild temperatures (60s to upper 70s Fahrenheit) and fewer bugs. July and August are warm and humid (highs in the mid-80s, occasional 90s) and perfect for swimming at Parvin Lake, though mosquitoes near the Delaware Bayshore wetlands can be intense. Winters are chilly (30s to 40s) but Parvin State Park stays open year-round if you have a heated rig. Pro tip: target the second weekend in May for the Cowtown Rodeo opener in nearby Pilesgrove, it's a quintessentially South Jersey experience.
weather.gov/phi/I've never rented an RV before. What should I know for a first trip from Salem?
First time renting an RV? You are going to love it, and your RVezy host has your back. Every rental includes a hands-on walkthrough at pickup or delivery covering the generator, slides, water, propane, dump procedures, and driving tips for the specific rig. You can message the host before booking with any question, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included with your protection plan if anything pops up on the road. For your first Salem RV trip, choose a smaller Class C motorhome or travel trailer, book a full-hookup site at Four Seasons Family Campground, and keep your first leg short, maybe a one-night shakedown before heading down to Cape May.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002007014-For-guestsWhat happens if I break down during my Salem, NJ RV trip?
Take a breath, you are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on Route 45, a dead battery at Parvin State Park, or a tow situation on the New Jersey Turnpike is just one phone call away. The roadside team can dispatch help for jump-starts, tire changes, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to a qualified repair shop. Your host is also a text away for tips specific to their rig. Pro tip: snap photos of the RV at pickup and save the roadside number and your host's contact in your phone before leaving Salem.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionCan I take my Salem, NJ RV rental into other states or across the border?
Yes, an RV road trip from Salem opens up the entire Northeast. Most RVezy hosts allow travel throughout the continental United States, so you can easily cross into Delaware (Cape Henlopen State Park is just 60 miles away), Pennsylvania (Philadelphia and the Pocono Mountains), Maryland (Assateague Island National Seashore in about 3 hours), or up to New York. Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed with host approval and proper documentation, just confirm before booking. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage doesn't extend there. Pro tip: message your host with your route plan, they'll often share favorite stops and dump stations along the way.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-goHow much will fuel cost for my Salem, NJ RV trip?
Fuel is one of the easier costs to budget for a Salem RV trip. New Jersey gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, and Salem is one of the last places in NJ where attendants pump your gas (it's the law statewide, enjoy it). Expect 8 to 10 miles per gallon for a Class A motorhome, 10 to 14 mpg for a Class C, 18 to 22 mpg for a Class B campervan, and roughly your tow vehicle's normal mpg minus 30 percent for a travel trailer. For a 300-mile loop down to Cape May and back, budget roughly $100 to $150 in fuel for a typical Class C. Pro tip: fuel up in NJ before crossing into Pennsylvania or Delaware, prices are often friendlier here.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Salem, NJ?
For peak summer weekends near Salem, book your campground 3 to 6 months ahead, the New Jersey State Park reservation system at camping.nj.gov opens bookings up to 11 months in advance and Parvin State Park's lakeside sites and cabins fill fast for July and August. Private parks like Four Seasons Family Campground and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Tall Pines book directly through their websites and also sell out for holiday weekends. For midweek or shoulder-season trips (May, September, October), you can often grab a spot 2 to 4 weeks out. Pro tip: set an availability notification on the NJ Outdoors portal if your first choice is full, cancellations happen constantly.
njportal.com/DEP/NJOutdoorsWhat are driving conditions like around Salem, NJ?
Driving an RV around Salem is genuinely relaxing compared to most of New Jersey, the roads are flat, rural, and lightly trafficked, with Route 49 and Route 45 being your main arteries. The Delaware Memorial Bridge (I-295) is RV-friendly with a 13.5-foot clearance, and so is the New Jersey Turnpike, but remember NJ caps motorhome height at 13.5 feet and length at 40 feet on state roads (62 feet combined with a tow). Watch for low canopy trees on rural county roads near Quinton and Alloway, and be alert for farm equipment in spring and fall. Pro tip: avoid I-295 northbound near Philadelphia between 4 and 6 pm on weekdays, the backup at the bridge approaches gets ugly.
state.nj.us/transportation/What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Salem, NJ?
Campgrounds near Salem, NJ run the full range so you can pick what suits you. Private parks like Four Seasons Family Campground and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Tall Pines offer full hookups (30 and 50 amp electric, water, sewer), laundry, showers, Wi-Fi, pools, and camp stores. Parvin State Park's Jaggers Point Campground is more rustic with no hookups but does provide potable water spigots, flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, and laundry within walking distance. Most local campgrounds have on-site dump stations included for registered guests. Pro tip: fill your fresh water tank before pulling into Parvin and dump on your way out, the sanitary station near the entrance makes departure quick.
dep.nj.gov/parksandforests/state-park/parvin-state-park/What's actually inside the RVs I can rent in Salem, NJ?
Most RVs on RVezy in the Salem area come fully outfitted so you can roll in and start enjoying your trip. Expect a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with toilet and shower, comfortable sleeping for 2 to 8 depending on size, air conditioning and heat, dining table, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many motorhome rentals in Salem also include a generator, awning, outdoor speakers, TV, and some have Wi-Fi hotspots. Travel trailers, fifth wheels, Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, and even toy haulers are all available. Pro tip: check each listing's amenity list and ask the host about linens, kitchen kits, and outdoor chairs, many include them free or as small add-ons.
rvezy.com/What add-ons and pickup options should I know about for a Salem, NJ RV rental?
RVezy hosts in Salem offer flexible add-ons that make your trip smoother. Common options include delivery and setup (often $2 to $5 per mile), generator hours, bedding and towel kits, kitchen packages, camp chairs, bike racks, propane refills, and even pre-stocked groceries. Pickup is typically at the host's home in or near Salem, with a 30 to 60-minute walkthrough included. Mileage policies vary by host: many include 100 to 150 free miles per day with reasonable per-mile rates after, while some offer unlimited mileage packages for longer trips. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus a bedding kit if it's your first time, you'll arrive at Parvin State Park with the RV already set up and beds made.
rvezy.com/How does payment and the security deposit work for a Salem, NJ RV rental?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card when you book, never directly to the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment before your trip and released after the rental ends, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition. To avoid any deposit issues, take time-stamped photos of the interior and exterior at pickup and drop-off, return with the fuel and propane at the level noted in the agreement, and use the included dump station before drop-off if required. Pro tip: keep all communication inside the RVezy messaging system, it protects both you and the host if any question comes up.
