On RVezy, travel trailers start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $275 per night, and larger Class A motorhomes run $250 to $400 per night. Pro tip: booking a 5+ night trip often unlocks a weekly discount set by the host.
visithersheyharrisburg.org/What license do I need to rent an RV in Palmyra, PA?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Palmyra, PA. Pennsylvania does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special RV endorsement for any motorhome or travel trailer available on RVezy, even Class A coaches up to 45 feet. You'll just need to be 25 or older, upload a clear photo of your license during booking, and complete RVezy's quick ID verification. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto club. That's the whole list, no PennDOT paperwork, no road test, no surprises at pickup.
dmv.pa.gov/Driver-Services/Driver-Licensing/Pages/default.aspxIs protection or insurance included with my Palmyra RV rental?
Yes, every RV rental in Palmyra, PA booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you are covered from the moment you pull out of the driveway. The protection plan helps cover physical damage to the RV, giving you real peace of mind on your trip through Lancaster County or up to the Poconos. During checkout you choose from tiered protection options based on the level of coverage and deductible you want, this is selected by you, not the host. Pro tip: if you are a first-time RV renter, the higher-tier plan is worth it for the lower deductible and added confidence.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionWhat is the cancellation policy if my Palmyra trip plans change?
Booking an RV in Palmyra is lower risk than you might think. RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy for every reservation, and it includes a grace period after booking where you can cancel for a full refund. Refund amounts after that depend on how far out you are from your trip start date. You will see the exact terms at checkout before you confirm. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best Hersheypark-weekend RVs, knowing the grace period gives you breathing room to adjust your plans.

Popular delivery destinations include Hersheypark Camping Resort just 10 minutes away, Lickdale Campground near I-81, and Jonestown KOA. Delivery fees are typically based on round-trip mileage from the host's location. penndot.pa.gov/TravelInPA/Pages/default.aspxWhere are the best campgrounds near Palmyra, PA?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Palmyra. Top picks within 20 minutes include Hersheypark Camping Resort (full hookups, shuttle to the park), Hersheywoods Campground in Elizabethtown (quiet, family-run, big-rig friendly), Lickdale Campground at I-81 Exit 90 (pool, easy interstate access), Jonestown / Hershey KOA (cabins, splash pad), and Memorial Lake State Park in Grantville for a more natural setting. Each offers 30/50-amp electric and dump stations on site. Pro tip: for Hersheypark weekends in June through August, reserve your campground site at least 2 to 3 months in advance, and ask your RVezy host to deliver right to your site so you skip the towing learning curve entirely.
dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/Pages/default.aspxWhen is the best time to take an RV trip from Palmyra?
Late April through mid-October is prime RV season in Palmyra, PA. Spring (April to May) brings highs in the 60s and 70s and blooming countryside, summer (June to August) peaks in the low 80s with humid afternoons (perfect for Hersheypark and lake days), and fall (mid-September through October) is the sleeper hit: crisp 60s, fewer crowds, and stunning foliage across the Pennsylvania ridge-and-valley landscape. Winters get cold, often dipping into the 20s with snow, but adventurous renters can still find four-season-ready rigs on RVezy. Pro tip: book the last two weeks of September or first two weeks of October for foliage season, mild driving weather, and noticeably lower nightly rates.
visitpa.com/seasonsI've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving one around Palmyra?
You'll be just fine, first time renting an RV in Palmyra is genuinely beginner-friendly. The roads around town (US-422, PA-117, and the Lebanon Valley) are flat, well-maintained, and far less stressful than navigating Philly or NYC. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering driving tips, the propane system, slide-outs, leveling, and dumping. If you'd rather skip driving altogether, book a delivery listing and the RV will be set up and waiting at your campground. Pro tip: choose a Class C motorhome or a smaller travel trailer (20 to 25 feet) for your first trip, they handle like a big van and fit easily into any Hersheypark-area campsite.

help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best RV road trips from Palmyra, PA?

Top routes from Palmyra include Gettysburg National Military Park (55 miles, about 1 hour) for Civil War history, Lancaster Amish Country (30 miles, 40 minutes) for covered bridges and farm markets, the Pocono Mountains (90 miles, under 2 hours) for lakes and hiking, Washington D.C. (130 miles, 2.5 hours) for the National Mall, and Niagara Falls (330 miles, around 6 hours) for a bigger adventure. Most RVezy hosts allow interstate travel across all U.S. states. nps.gov/gett/index.htmHow much should I budget for fuel on a Palmyra RV trip?
Fuel is the biggest variable on any motorhome rental in Palmyra, so it helps to plan ahead. Class B campervans typically get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 MPG, Class A coaches 6 to 10 MPG, and tow vehicles pulling a travel trailer usually drop to 9 to 13 MPG. Pennsylvania gas prices tend to run slightly above the national average due to state fuel taxes, so on a 300-mile loop in a Class C you can expect roughly $90 to $130 in fuel. Pro tip: the Sheetz and Rutter's stations along US-422 in Palmyra and Lebanon have RV-friendly pull-through pumps and competitive prices, much easier than squeezing into a smaller city station.
revenue.pa.gov/TaxTypes/Fuel/Pages/default.aspxHow far in advance should I book campgrounds near Palmyra?
For peak Hersheypark season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), book campgrounds 3 to 4 months ahead, especially Hersheypark Camping Resort, which fills up fast on weekends. Pennsylvania state parks like Memorial Lake and Gifford Pinchot use the ReserveAmerica system and open bookings up to 11 months in advance. Private parks like Lickdale Campground and Jonestown KOA take direct online reservations. Shoulder seasons (April, May, September, October) are much more relaxed, you can often book 2 to 3 weeks out. Pro tip: midweek arrivals (Sunday through Wednesday) at Hersheypark-area campgrounds are dramatically easier to score and often $15 to $25 per night cheaper than Friday or Saturday nights.
dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/Reservations/Pages/default.aspxWhat are driving conditions like around Palmyra, PA?
Driving an RV around Palmyra is refreshingly easy. The town sits in the gently rolling Lebanon Valley between Harrisburg and Reading, with wide rural highways like US-422, PA-934, and PA-117 that handle big rigs comfortably. I-81 and I-78 are nearby for longer hauls. Things to know: watch for low-clearance covered bridges in Lancaster County (always under 10 feet), Amish horse-and-buggy traffic on rural roads, and occasional summer thunderstorms that bring heavy rain in July and August. Winter snow and ice are common from December to February. Pro tip: stick to numbered state routes and interstates when towing a fifth wheel, your GPS may try to route you through narrow farm lanes that aren't RV-friendly.
511pa.com/What amenities do campgrounds near Palmyra typically offer?
Campgrounds near Palmyra are well-equipped for any size rig. Most full-service parks like Hersheypark Camping Resort, Lickdale Campground, and Jonestown KOA offer 30/50-amp electric, city water, sewer hookups, dump stations, free Wi-Fi (sometimes spotty), pools, laundry, and propane refill on-site. Pennsylvania state parks like Memorial Lake offer electric-only sites with shared dump stations and potable water fills near the entrance. If you're staying somewhere without sewer hookups, the nearest public dump stations are at Hersheypark Camping Resort and the Flying J in Carlisle. Pro tip: always confirm your site's amp service when booking, older Class A motorhomes need 50-amp and won't run both AC units on a 30-amp site during a hot July afternoon.

Pro tip: each RVezy listing has a full amenities checklist, so if you want a dedicated bunkhouse for the kids or an outdoor kitchen for tailgating before a Hershey Bears game, just filter and you will find it.
