I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Miguel and Anna were amazing to rent from. Miguel installed my Wieght Distrobution Hitch and attached to our Truck. Anna was warm and considerate, chatting with us both before we left and again when we returned the camper. Anna also provided us oranges as a gift how nice is that! I would recommend this rental to others.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Auburndale, FL

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Auburndale, FL?

RV rental in Auburndale is one of the most affordable ways to explore Central Florida, with most travel trailers starting around $90 to $150 per night and Class C motorhomes typically running $175 to $275 per night on RVezy. Pricing depends on the RV's size, age, and the season, with peak rates landing between January and March when snowbirds flock to Polk County. To score a cheap RV rental in Auburndale, target shoulder months like late April, May, September, or early December when nightly rates often drop 20-30%. Pro tip: filter for Instant Book listings near I-4 and Polk Parkway to compare options fast, and message hosts about weekly discounts for stays of five nights or more.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Auburndale?

Great news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Auburndale for virtually every motorhome and travel trailer on RVezy. Florida's standard Class E license covers recreational vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) under 26,001 pounds, which includes nearly every Class A, Class B campervan, and Class C motorhome you'll find on the platform. You'll need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID through the booking process, so there's no extra DMV trip. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home-country license along with an International Driving Permit (IDP), which most auto associations issue for under $25, and you're set for your Auburndale RV trip.

What kind of protection comes with my Auburndale RV rental?

Every RV rental in Auburndale booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you're covered from the moment you pick up the keys. The protection plan helps cover physical damage to the RV during your trip, whether you're driving I-4 toward Disney or backing into a lakeside site at Lake Ariana. RVezy offers multiple protection tiers, and you choose your coverage level during checkout, not the host, so you stay in control. Pro tip: pick a higher tier if it's your first time renting an RV, since the lower deductible makes minor mishaps a non-issue.

What if I need to cancel my Auburndale RV reservation?

Booking with confidence is easy because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy, so terms are consistent across every listing. There's a grace period after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, and refund amounts after that depend on how far out from your trip you cancel, so booking earlier gives you the most flexibility. RVezy support is available day or night if your plans change unexpectedly, including major disruptions like a hurricane or tropical storm (which matters in Florida from June through November). Pro tip: review the full RVezy cancellation policy in the Help Center before you book so you know exactly what to expect.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Auburndale?

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental in Auburndale is easy to find on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when searching and you'll see motorhomes and travel trailers whose owners welcome furry travelers. Auburndale is a great spot for dog-loving campers since Camp Margaritaville RV Resort has dog parks on site, and nearby Lake Myrtle Park offers shaded paths for morning walks. Bok Tower Gardens in nearby Lake Wales also welcomes leashed dogs on its garden paths. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee (typically $25 to $50 per stay) and to ask about pet bedding or bowls, since many Auburndale hosts include them as a free add-on for family RV trips.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Auburndale?

Yes, RV delivery in Auburndale is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it's a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will deliver the motorhome or travel trailer directly to Camp Margaritaville RV Resort, Orlando SE / Lake Whippoorwill KOA, or other campgrounds within a 30 to 60 mile radius, then handle the setup, hookups, and a full walkthrough before they leave. Delivery fees usually run $2 to $5 per mile round-trip, and some hosts offer flat-rate delivery to popular nearby resorts. Pro tip: filter for the Delivery option and message the host with your campground name; many will quote a package price that bundles delivery, setup, and pickup so you can skip driving entirely.

How far can I drive on an Auburndale RV trip?

You've got tons of range for an RV road trip from Auburndale since it sits at the crossroads of I-4 and the Polk Parkway, halfway between Orlando and Tampa. Most RVezy hosts include 100-150 free miles per night, and many offer RV rental with unlimited mileage as an upgrade for $25-$75 per night. Popular routes include Walt Disney World (35 miles), Clearwater Beach (75 miles), Kennedy Space Center (95 miles), Everglades National Park (210 miles), and the Florida Keys (290 miles to Key Largo). Pro tip: if you're planning a longer loop down to the Keys or up to St. Augustine, ask the host about an unlimited mileage add-on at booking. It almost always works out cheaper than per-mile overage fees.

Where are the best campgrounds near Auburndale, FL?

Auburndale is surrounded by some of the best campgrounds in Central Florida. Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Auburndale offers hundreds of full-hookup sites, resort pools, a tiki bar, and shuttle access to Orlando attractions. Colt Creek State Park near Lakeland (about 25 miles away) has full-hookup RV sites surrounded by thousands of acres of pine flatwoods. For Disney-adjacent stays, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is about 40 minutes north. Orlando SE / Lake Whippoorwill KOA Holiday is another reliable pick about 35 miles away, and Lake Mack-Forest Hills offers a quieter lakefront vibe a bit farther north. Pro tip: book Camp Margaritaville early for winter and spring break weekends. RV camping in Auburndale fills up fast from January through March.

When is the best time to take an RV trip from Auburndale?

The sweet spot for an Auburndale RV trip is mid-October through April, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70s and low 80s and humidity drops to manageable levels. January and February average highs near 69-73°F with cool, dry nights, perfect for campfires at Lake Ariana or stargazing at Colt Creek State Park. Summer (June through September) brings 90°F highs, daily afternoon thunderstorms, and active hurricane season, so plan indoor-friendly activities and choose RVs with strong air conditioning. Pro tip: November is the local insider's favorite month, with lows around 60°F, almost no rain, and shoulder-season pricing on both RV rentals and campsites before the snowbird rush hits in January.

I'm renting an RV for the first time. Will the host help me out?

You're in great hands. Every RVezy booking in Auburndale includes a hands-on orientation at pickup, where the host walks you through driving the rig, working the awning, hooking up at a campsite, and operating the propane, generator, and tanks. Most hosts spend 30 to 60 minutes with you and stay reachable by phone or text throughout your trip. Auburndale is also a forgiving place to learn since the roads are flat, the Polk Parkway has wide lanes, and campgrounds like Camp Margaritaville have pull-through sites that don't require backing up. Pro tip: choose a travel trailer with delivery and setup if you're nervous about driving. The host parks it and levels it, and you just enjoy your family RV trip in Auburndale.
fdot.gov/safety/

What happens if the RV breaks down during my Auburndale trip?

Don't worry: 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every RVezy booking, so help is one phone call away whether you're on I-4 near Lakeland or out near the Green Swamp. Coverage typically includes flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified repair shop. Your host is also a great first call for quirks specific to their RV, like a tricky generator switch or a finicky slide-out. Auburndale's central location means major repair shops in Lakeland and Winter Haven are usually less than 20 minutes away. Pro tip: snap photos of the propane and electrical panels during your walkthrough so you can show them to roadside support if anything comes up.

Can I take my Auburndale RV rental out of Florida or across the border?

Yes, most RVezy hosts in Auburndale are happy to let you cross state lines for an RV road trip from Auburndale to Georgia, the Carolinas, or beyond. Just confirm with the host before booking since some prefer keeping the RV within Florida. Popular multi-state itineraries include Savannah, GA (340 miles), Charleston, SC (450 miles), and the Great Smoky Mountains (640 miles). Heads up: travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the protection package and insurance don't extend there. Cross-border trips into Canada may be allowed with host approval and additional steps. Pro tip: message the host with your full route before booking so they can confirm mileage allowances and any state-specific notes for your trip.

How much should I budget for fuel on a motorhome rental Auburndale trip?

Fuel is one of the biggest variables in any RV trip, but Auburndale's central location keeps drive times short to major destinations. Class C motorhomes average 8-10 miles per gallon (MPG), Class B campervans hit 16-20 MPG, and tow vehicles with travel trailers usually run 10-13 MPG. With Florida gas prices typically hovering around $3.10 to $3.40 per gallon, a 200-mile round-trip to Clearwater Beach in a Class C runs roughly $70-$85 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up at the Wawa or RaceTrac stations off the Polk Parkway exits, which usually beat I-4 prices by 10-20 cents per gallon, and use the GasBuddy app to spot the cheapest stop along your route.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Auburndale?

For the best campgrounds near Auburndale, lock in your campsite as early as you can, especially for stays between November and April. Florida residents can reserve Florida State Park sites (like Colt Creek and Lake Kissimmee) 11 months ahead through the official reservations system, and non-residents can book 10 months ahead. Private resorts like Camp Margaritaville and Orlando SE/Lake Whippoorwill KOA take reservations directly on their websites, often 12+ months out for peak weekends. Pro tip: set up an account on the Florida State Parks reservation site before you need it, and log in right at 8 a.m. Eastern when your window opens. The most popular sites get snapped up within minutes, especially around spring break and holidays.
floridastateparks.org/reservation-information

What are driving conditions like around Auburndale?

Good news for first-timers: Auburndale's driving conditions are about as RV-friendly as Florida gets. The terrain is flat, the major routes (I-4, Polk Parkway, US-92, and US-17/92) are wide and well-maintained, and there are zero mountain passes to worry about. The main things to watch are I-4 traffic during weekday rush hours and the daily summer thunderstorms from June through September, which can dump heavy rain in 30-minute bursts. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, so monitor the National Weather Service Tampa Bay forecast. Pro tip: avoid I-4 between Orlando and Tampa during weekday 4-6 p.m. windows by using the Polk Parkway (SR-570) as a quicker, less stressful alternative for your RV.
weather.gov/tbw/

What hookups and amenities will I find at campgrounds in Auburndale?

Most campgrounds near Auburndale are full-hookup ready, meaning you'll get 30/50-amp electric, fresh water, and sewer at your site. Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Auburndale offers 326 full-hookup sites plus pools, dog parks, a tiki bar, and a putting course. Colt Creek State Park has a clean dump station at the gate plus electric and water at sites. If you need a dump-and-go between trips, Love's RV Hookup at Auburndale FL 228 right off I-4 (Exit 44) offers quick service. Many Auburndale campgrounds also include free Wi-Fi, but signal can be spotty so plan for a mobile hotspot if you're working remotely. Pro tip: fill fresh water before leaving the campground; Florida's well water can taste minerally, so a hose-mount filter is worth the $30.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/colt-creek-state-park

What's actually inside the RVs available in Auburndale?

Auburndale RV rentals come loaded for Florida camping. Expect a queen or king bed in the main sleeping area, fold-down dinettes and sofas to sleep 4-8 total, a galley kitchen with a fridge, freezer, microwave, propane stove, and oven, plus a wet bath or full bathroom with toilet and shower. Air conditioning is standard (and essential here), and most rigs include a roof-mounted AC plus a generator or shore-power hookup. Many hosts also offer a TV with streaming, outdoor speakers, and seatbelts for every passenger. Pro tip: look for listings with a second roof AC unit or upgraded inverter if you're traveling May through September. Auburndale summer heat can push smaller AC units hard during midday family RV trips.

What add-ons and pickup details should I expect when I rent an RV in Auburndale?

Auburndale hosts offer a great lineup of add-ons that turn a basic booking into a turn-key vacation. Common extras include camping chairs and tables ($20-$40), bedding and linen packages ($30-$75), generator use ($10-$25 per day), bike racks, beach gear for Gulf Coast day trips, and outdoor grills. Pickup typically happens at the host's home or a designated meeting point near I-4 between Auburndale and Lakeland, and most walkthroughs take 30-60 minutes. Mileage policies usually include 100-150 free miles per night with overage fees of $0.30-$0.45 per mile. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and dump-station service for a stress-free Auburndale RV trip; it's often only $50-$100 more than a self-drive rental and saves hours of work.

How does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Auburndale?

RVezy makes payment simple and secure. You pay in full through the RVezy platform when you book, using a credit card or other supported method, and your funds are held until your trip starts so the host is paid after pickup. A refundable security deposit (set per listing) is pre-authorized on your card just before your trip and released within a few days of a smooth return. Never pay a host directly outside the platform; doing so voids your protection plan. Pro tip: take a quick video walkaround of the RV's exterior and interior at pickup and return. It's the easiest way to protect your deposit and document the condition before your campervan rental in Auburndale begins.

How do I handle summer heat and hurricane season on an Auburndale RV trip?

Summer in Auburndale brings 90 degree days, high humidity, and afternoon thunderstorms from June through September, but a well-equipped RV makes it manageable. Drive during cooler morning hours, park in shade when possible, and run AC on shore power at full-hookup sites like Camp Margaritaville to keep things cool. Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, so check the National Hurricane Center forecast daily and have a backup plan if a named storm approaches. RVezy's cancellation policy includes protections for major disruptions like tropical storms. Pro tip: book shoulder-season trips in late October, November, March, or April. You'll get gorgeous 75 to 82 degree days, less rain, and lower campground rates for your RV camping Auburndale getaway.
