I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Miguel and Anna were amazing to rent from. Miguel installed my Wieght Distrobution Hitch and attached to our Truck. Anna was warm and considerate, chatting with us both before we left and again when we returned the camper. Anna also provided us oranges as a gift how nice is that! I would recommend this rental to others.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Combee Settlement, FL?

RV rental in Combee Settlement is more affordable than you might think, with most rigs on RVezy listed between $95 and $225 per night. Travel trailers tend to sit on the lower end, campervans and Class C motorhomes in the middle, and large Class A coaches at the top. You can stretch your budget further by booking weekly, traveling in the shoulder months (April, May, September), and filtering for hosts who offer local delivery so you save on fuel. Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Combee Settlement?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Combee Settlement, FL. Florida does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal RVs, even larger Class A motorhomes you might rent for a family trip. You'll just need to be 25 or older and verify your ID through the RVezy platform during booking, which takes only a few minutes. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto club and you're set. Most first-time renters in Lakeland are surprised at how straightforward the paperwork really is.

What if I need to cancel my Combee Settlement RV rental?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy (not the individual host) sets the cancellation policy, and there is a grace-period window after you book where you can cancel for a full refund. Beyond that window, your refund depends on how far out from your trip start date you cancel. Because Combee Settlement sits in central Florida where hurricane season runs June through November, RVezy"s support team can help if a named storm disrupts your plans. You won"t see policy text on individual listings since it is handled at the platform level, so you can compare RVs in Lakeland without worrying about different fine print on every page.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Combee Settlement?

Absolutely, four-legged co-pilots are welcome on a pet-friendly RV rental in Combee Settlement. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to instantly see hosts who allow dogs, and message them ahead of time about any breed or size notes. Once you"re rolling, you"ll find plenty of dog-loving stops: Sun Retreats Lakeland (formerly Lakeland RV Resort) on Old Combee Road welcomes leashed pets, Sanlan RV & Golf Resort is leash-friendly along its nature trails near Banana Lake, and Bonnet Springs Park in downtown Lakeland is a beautiful spot for a morning walk. Pro tip: pack a collapsible bowl, Florida heat sneaks up on pups fast even in winter.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite near Combee Settlement?

Yes, RV delivery in Combee Settlement is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you"re a first-timer. Many Lakeland-area hosts will drop the RV right at your campground, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Popular delivery destinations include Saddle Creek Park on Morgan Combee Road, Sanlan RV & Golf Resort on US Highway 98 South, and Camp Margaritaville in nearby Auburndale. Filter for Delivery on RVezy, then message the host with your campsite number. Sanlan RV & Golf Resort on US-98 South spreads across hundreds of acres with a golf course on site. When is the best time to rent an RV in Combee Settlement?

Combee Settlement is a year-round RV destination, but the sweet spot runs October through April, when daytime highs sit between 70 and 82°F, humidity drops, and afternoon thunderstorms take a break. This is also snowbird season, so book your RV and campground early. Summer (June through September) brings highs in the low 90s with daily afternoon storms and the Atlantic hurricane season, so plan for strong AC and flexible itineraries. Spring is gorgeous, hello, Florida Strawberry Festival in nearby Plant City in late February and early March. Local insider tip: the SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo at Lakeland Linder Airport every April fills RV parks fast, so lock in dates as soon as you spot them.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Lakeland?

You'll do great, first time renting an RV is more common than you'd guess on RVezy. Your host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup (or delivery) covering driving, slide-outs, leveling, water, propane, and the dump valves, and they're a text away during your trip. Combee Settlement is an easy place to learn because most main routes (US-92, US-98, and Combee Road itself) are wide, flat, and well-marked. Avoid the narrowest downtown Lakeland streets around Lake Mirror with a big rig and stick to the main corridors. If city driving makes you nervous, just choose delivery and let the host drop the RV at your campground. By day two you'll feel like a pro.

What happens if my RV breaks down during the trip?

You're covered: every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so help is one phone call away no matter where your Combee Settlement RV trip takes you. Whether it's a flat tire on I-4 heading to Tampa, a dead battery at Circle B Bar Reserve, or a lockout at Saddle Creek Park, the support number in your booking confirmation gets you a dispatcher fast. Your host is also a great first contact for quirky vehicle-specific questions since they know their rig inside and out. Most issues are resolved the same day so you can get back to the fun parts: airboat rides, Detroit Tigers spring training at Publix Field, or watching swans glide across Lake Morton.

What are the best RV road trips from Combee Settlement?

Combee Settlement is one of the best launchpads in Florida for an RV road trip. Head east about 50 miles to Walt Disney World and Fort Wilderness, west 35 miles to Clearwater and Tampa"s Gulf beaches, southwest 90 miles to Siesta Key in Sarasota, north 90 miles to Ocala National Forest and Juniper Springs, or south about 240 miles to the Everglades" Flamingo Campground. Cross-border note: trips to Mexico are not allowed on RVezy rentals due to insurance coverage, but most US travel is fair game, just confirm any out-of-state plans with your host before booking. Insider tip: take Highway 60 east to Lake Wales for Bok Tower Gardens, a quiet detour most tourists miss.

What kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?

Plan for honest numbers and you"ll come in under budget. Class B campervans average 18-22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8-12 MPG, large Class A coaches 6-9 MPG, and a tow-behind travel trailer with a pickup truck usually 10-14 MPG. Florida gas prices typically track close to the national average, and Combee Settlement has plenty of fuel options along US-92 and Combee Road, with diesel readily available at truck stops just off I-4. A weeklong loop covering Tampa, Orlando, and back is usually 300-400 miles, so even a thirsty Class A is manageable. Pro tip: compare prices on a fuel app, stations around Auburndale are often cheaper than in Lakeland proper.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far ahead should I book a campground near Combee Settlement?

Aim to book campgrounds 3 to 6 months ahead for winter (November through April) when snowbirds fill central Florida parks, and 4 to 8 weeks ahead for summer and shoulder seasons. Florida State Parks like nearby Lake Kissimmee and Hillsborough River open reservations 11 months in advance through the Florida State Parks reservation system, so set a calendar reminder if you have your eye on a waterfront site. Polk County"s Saddle Creek Park takes reservations through the county"s recreation system and fills up quickly on weekends. Pro tip: SUN "n FUN Aerospace Expo week in April books out the entire Lakeland area, so if you"re visiting then, snag your spot the moment listings open.
floridastateparks.org/learn/reservations

What are local driving conditions like around Combee Settlement?

Driving here is mostly easy: terrain is flat, roads are wide, and elevations top out around 200 feet. The main things to watch for are I-4 traffic between Lakeland and Orlando during morning and afternoon rush (it can crawl near Exit 33), summer afternoon thunderstorms that drop visibility in minutes, and the occasional low-clearance bridge in older downtown areas. Stick to US-92, US-98, and Polk Parkway for the smoothest big-rig routes. Hurricane season (June to November) can bring evacuation traffic, so check Florida 511 before long drives. Local insider tip: avoid I-4 westbound on Sunday afternoons when Orlando tourists head back to Tampa, take Highway 60 instead for a calmer ride.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Combee Settlement?

Local campgrounds are well-equipped for a smooth RV camping experience in Combee Settlement. Sun Retreats Lakeland and Sanlan RV & Golf Resort offer full hookups (30/50 amp electric, water, sewer), pools, laundry, and Wi-Fi. Saddle Creek Park has sites with electric and water plus an on-site dump station for emptying tanks at the end of your trip. Fresh water fill-ups are available at most full-service parks. Propane is sold at the Tractor Supply on US-98 and the U-Haul on US-92. Pro tip: many Lakeland parks sell firewood on-site, and the Florida Forest Service asks that you keep wood within 50 miles of its origin to protect against invasive pests.
fdacs.gov/Divisions-Offices/Florida-Forest-Service

What features and amenities come with a typical RV rental?

Expect a fully outfitted home on wheels. Most motorhome rentals in Combee Settlement come with a real bed (often a queen), full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, dinette seating, air conditioning (a must in Florida), and seatbelts for every traveling passenger. Many hosts include generators for off-grid power, outdoor awnings for shade, and some offer Wi-Fi hotspots, smart TVs, or solar setups. Travel trailers offer similar interiors, just towed behind your vehicle. Check each listing's amenities list and message the host if you want specifics. Pro tip: ask if linens, kitchen kits, and outdoor chairs are included, many Lakeland hosts toss these in for a smoother first-night setup.
flhsmv.gov/safety-center/consumer-education/recreational-vehicles/

What add-ons and pickup options should I look for?

Hosts in Combee Settlement offer popular add-ons that make life easier: delivery and setup (often $2-$4 per mile from their location), generator use, bike racks, camp chairs and tables, kitchen and bedding kits, propane top-offs, and dump-and-fill services so you don't have to deal with tanks at the end of your trip. Mileage policies vary, look for unlimited mileage if you're planning the Tampa to Orlando to Sarasota loop, or a daily allowance (usually 100-150 miles) if you're parking it at one campground. Pickup is typically at the host's location near Combee Road or US-92, with most offering a flexible 2-3 hour window. Pro tip: book add-ons during checkout, prices are often lower than adding them later.
flhsmv.gov/motor-vehicles-tags-titles/recreational-vehicles/

How does the security deposit and payment work?

Payment is simple and secure. You pay through RVezy at checkout using a credit or debit card, no cash changing hands with the host. A refundable security deposit is authorized (held, not charged) on your card around the start of your trip and released back to you a few days after return, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition. Deposit amounts vary by RV and trip length, and you"ll see the exact number before you confirm your booking. To avoid issues, take date-stamped photos of the rig (inside, outside, fuel gauge, and odometer) at pickup and dropoff, follow the host"s fuel and dump policy, and respect the mileage allowance. Easy steps, full peace of mind on your Lakeland RV rental.

How do I beat the Florida heat on a summer RV trip?

Summer in Combee Settlement is hot (highs 90-95°F, humidity 80%+), but a little planning makes it a blast. Choose an RV with strong roof-mounted air conditioning, and look for hosts who include a generator or whose rigs run on 50-amp service so you can blast the AC all day at full-hookup parks like Sanlan or Lakeland RV Community. Drive early in the morning to dodge afternoon thunderstorms that roll in around 3 PM almost daily June through September. Park under shade trees when you can and keep awnings out for cooler outdoor space. Insider tip: the shoulder months (April-May and September-October) are the smart-money move, prices drop, crowds thin, and the weather is still beach-worthy on the Gulf Coast just an hour west.
