I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Miguel and Anna were amazing to rent from. Miguel installed my Wieght Distrobution Hitch and attached to our Truck. Anna was warm and considerate, chatting with us both before we left and again when we returned the camper. Anna also provided us oranges as a gift how nice is that! I would recommend this rental to others.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Cypress Gardens, FL

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Cypress Gardens, FL?

Renting an RV in Cypress Gardens is one of the most affordable ways to experience Central Florida's theme park corridor. On RVezy, you will typically find travel trailers from around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes from $175 to $275, and Class A motorhomes from $250 and up. Because hosts set their own pricing, you can score cheap RV rental Cypress Gardens deals by booking midweek, traveling in late spring or early fall (shoulder season), and choosing a trailer over a motorized rig. Pro tip: since LEGOLAND Florida is just down Cypress Gardens Boulevard, many local hosts offer multi-night discounts that pair perfectly with a 2 or 3-day park visit.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Cypress Gardens?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Cypress Gardens. Florida's standard Class E driver's license covers any non-commercial motor vehicle, including recreational vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) under 26,001 pounds, which includes virtually every RV on RVezy. No Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement is required. Approved renters are generally 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during checkout. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you are set for your Winter Haven RV adventure.

What happens if I need to cancel my Cypress Gardens RV trip?

Plans change, and RVezy makes cancellations straightforward. Every booking follows a unified RVezy cancellation policy (set by the platform, not by individual hosts) that includes a money-back grace period right after booking, giving you breathing room to firm up dates. Refunds after the grace period depend on how close you are to your trip start date. Cancellation terms are not displayed per listing because the same policy applies to every RV rental in Cypress Gardens. If a host ever cancels, you receive a full refund or travel credit. Customer support is available before, during, and after your trip.

Can I bring my dog on my Cypress Gardens RV rental?

Absolutely, pets are welcome on plenty of trips. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to find pet-friendly RV rental Cypress Gardens listings from hosts who allow dogs (and sometimes cats). Once you arrive, your pup will love Lake Eloise's shoreline paths and the grassy sites at Cypress Campground and RV Park on Cypress Gardens Boulevard, which welcomes non-aggressive dog breeds and has an on-site dog park. Bok Tower Gardens, about 20 minutes south in Lake Wales, also allows leashed dogs on its garden paths. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet cleaning fee.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite near Cypress Gardens?

Yes, and it is a game-changer for first-time renters. Many Winter Haven and Lakeland hosts offer RV delivery Cypress Gardens service, towing the rig to your campground, leveling it, hooking up water, sewer, and 30/50-amp power, and walking you through every system before handing you the keys. It is especially popular for stays at Cypress Campground and RV Park (about 2 miles from LEGOLAND) or for families parking near the Chain of Lakes. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see which listings include it, and check the host's delivery fee on the listing page (often a flat rate plus per-mile charge). Show up, unpack, and start your Cypress Gardens RV trip stress-free.

How far can I drive my motorhome rental Cypress Gardens on a typical trip?

You're sitting on one of Florida's best launching pads for road trips. From Cypress Gardens, Walt Disney World is about 35 miles north, Tampa's beaches are 55 miles west, Kennedy Space Center is roughly 90 miles east, the Everglades begin about 170 miles south, and the Florida Keys' Key Largo is around 230 miles southeast. Hosts on RVezy set their own mileage policies, and you'll see the daily allowance (often 100 to 150 free miles per night) right on the listing. If you're planning a longer RV road trip from Cypress Gardens, filter for RV rental with unlimited mileage or ask the host about a custom mileage package before booking.

Where are the best campgrounds near Cypress Gardens for an RV?

You have fantastic options within minutes. Cypress Campground and RV Park on Cypress Gardens Boulevard offers full-hookup sites just a couple of miles from LEGOLAND Florida, with a heated pool, mini-golf, and big-rig pull-throughs. Sanlan RV and Golf Resort in Lakeland (about 20 minutes west) sits on a former phosphate mine with stocked fishing lakes. Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Auburndale brings resort vibes about 25 minutes north. For nature lovers, Lake Kissimmee State Park near Lake Wales (about 30 minutes east) offers shaded full-facility sites under live oaks. Reservations at Florida State Parks open 11 months ahead through the official reservation system.

When is the best time to plan an RV camping Cypress Gardens trip?

The sweet spot is November through April, when daytime highs hover between 70°F and 83°F, humidity is low, and rainfall is minimal (November averages just 1.4 inches). This is peak snowbird season for a reason. Summer brings tropical heat (highs near 90°F in July and August), heavy afternoon thunderstorms, and the official Atlantic hurricane season from June 1 through November 30, so you'll want strong AC and flexible plans. Shoulder months (October and early May) are a smart-money move: warm lake weather, smaller theme park crowds, and lower nightly rates. Local insider tip: visit in February or March to catch the Florida Citrus Festival and orange groves in bloom.
weather.gov/tbw/

I'm first time renting an RV. Is Cypress Gardens beginner-friendly?

Yes, this is honestly one of the easiest places in Florida to learn the ropes. The terrain around Winter Haven is flat as a pancake (elevation around 165 feet), the roads to popular campgrounds are wide and well-paved, and I-4 plus US-27 give you straight-shot access without mountain grades or big-city congestion. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through slide-outs, water systems, the propane stove, dumping tanks, and what to do if a warning light pops on. You can also message the host with questions before booking. Pro tip: pick a Class C motorhome or travel trailer under 28 feet for your first Winter Haven outing, you'll thank yourself in the campground.

What if something goes wrong with my RV during the trip?

You are never on your own. Every RV rental in Cypress Gardens booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection package, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing if needed, whether you are parked at Cypress Campground or pulled over on I-4. Your host is typically a quick phone call away and knows the rig inside-out, which helps for quick fixes like resetting a tripped GFCI outlet or relighting the water heater. RVezy customer support is also available before, during, and after every trip. Save the roadside number in your phone before pickup.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detail

Can I take my Cypress Gardens RV rental on a longer road trip or across state lines?

Definitely. Interstate travel is allowed on RVezy rentals, so popular routes like Cypress Gardens to Savannah, GA (about 350 miles up I-95), or down to the Florida Keys (around 320 miles via the Overseas Highway) are totally on the table. One important note: travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. If you're planning a multi-state loop, just confirm your mileage allowance on the listing or ask the host for a custom package. Many hosts also work with multi-week renters chasing snowbird routes through Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolinas.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Cypress Gardens RV trip?

Fuel is one of the easier costs to predict in Central Florida. Florida gas prices typically run close to the national average, often $3.00 to $3.50 per gallon, and Winter Haven has plenty of large gas stations along US-27 and SR-540 with truck-friendly bays. Class C motorhomes generally get 8 to 12 miles per gallon (mpg), Class B campervans 16 to 20 mpg, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 mpg combined). A typical 200-mile loop hitting LEGOLAND, Bok Tower Gardens, and Lakeland might cost $50 to $80 in fuel for a midsize motorhome. Pro tip: fill up on US-27 south of town, prices are usually lower than near I-4.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Cypress Gardens?

For the smoothest experience, book early. Florida State Parks like Lake Kissimmee open reservations exactly 11 months in advance through the official ReserveAmerica-powered floridastateparks.org system, and winter weekends (December through March) fill up the day the window opens. Private parks like Cypress Campground & RV Park and Camp Margaritaville Auburndale typically take reservations directly on their websites and book up 2 to 4 months ahead for snowbird season. Polk County's five public campgrounds (Coleman Landing, Lake Arbuckle, Lake Rosalie, Port Hatchineha, and Saddle Creek) are first-come, first-served with online reservation options. Insider tip: midweek shoulder-season stays are often available last-minute, perfect for a spontaneous Winter Haven escape.
polkfl.gov/things-to-do/parks-and-recreation/campgrounds/

What are the driving conditions like around Cypress Gardens?

You'll find some of Florida's easiest RV driving here. The area is flat, the speed limits on US-27 and SR-540 (Cypress Gardens Boulevard) are reasonable, and there are no mountain passes or steep grades. The two things to watch for: sudden afternoon thunderstorms between June and September (pull over at a rest area until the downpour passes, it usually clears in 20 minutes), and occasional fog on early winter mornings near the chain of lakes. Avoid driving a tall rig on Bok Tower Road during peak garden hours, since parking there is tight. Florida's max legal RV height is 13 feet 6 inches, comfortably above any overpass on your likely route. Tolls on the Polk Parkway accept SunPass and cash equivalents.
fdot.gov/traffic/its/projects-deploy/sunguide.shtm

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Cypress Gardens?

Central Florida campgrounds are well-equipped. Most local parks (Cypress Campground, Sanlan, Camp Margaritaville) offer full hookups: 30 and 50-amp electric, fresh city water, sewer at the site, plus free WiFi, cable TV, heated pools, laundry rooms, and propane refill stations. Dump stations are easy to find: Cypress Campground has one onsite, and Lake Kissimmee State Park provides one for non-campers too. Need to fill fresh water on the road? Most Florida state parks allow potable water fill at the dump station entrance. Local insider tip: stock up on groceries at the Super Walmart adjacent to Cypress Campground on Cypress Gardens Boulevard, with a private gate connecting the two properties.
floridastateparks.org/learn/camping

What features and amenities come standard in a Cypress Gardens RV rental?

Expect more comfort than you'd guess. Most listings on RVezy come with a real queen or king bed, a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with hot-water shower, roof and dash air conditioning (essential in Florida), seatbelts for every passenger, and a dinette that converts to extra sleeping space. Larger Class A and Class C motorhomes often add a generator (great for Florida thunderstorm power blips), outdoor entertainment kitchens, and smart TVs. WiFi varies, hotspots are common but not universal, so ask the host if you plan to work remotely. For a family RV trip Cypress Gardens, a campervan rental Cypress Gardens style Class B sleeps 2-4, while a Class C easily fits a family of 6.
nhtsa.gov/equipment/recreational-vehicles

What are pickup, drop-off, and add-on options like?

Hosts make this as flexible as possible. You can usually pick up your RV at the host's home base in Winter Haven, Lakeland, or Auburndale, or arrange RV delivery Cypress Gardens style straight to your campground (use the Delivery filter on RVezy). Popular paid add-ons include linens and towel packages, kitchen kits with pots and dishes, camp chairs, generators, bike racks, propane, and even pre-stocked groceries. Mileage policies are set per listing, typically 100 to 150 free miles per night, with extra miles available for purchase. Pro tip: Instant Book listings save you the back-and-forth if you are booking close to your trip date.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Cypress%20Gardens%2C%20Florida

How does the security deposit and payment work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure. You pay your full booking total (rental cost, fees, taxes, protection package, and any add-ons) through RVezy's secure platform at checkout, no cash is exchanged with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately on your card before the trip, with the amount shown clearly on the listing (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV class). As long as the RV returns in the same condition, with the agreed fuel level and within the mileage allowance, the deposit is released after the host's post-trip inspection. Snap photos at pickup and drop-off and review the listing's fuel and dump policies to keep things smooth.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

How do I handle Florida heat and summer storms on my RV trip?

With a little prep, summer here is very manageable. Plan to drive in the morning when temperatures are cooler and afternoon thunderstorms (which often roll in between 2 and 5 p.m.) have not fired up yet. Most RVs on RVezy come with strong roof-mounted air conditioning that handles 90°F+ days, but you will want a 30 or 50-amp full-hookup site to run it continuously, which Cypress Campground and RV Park, Sanlan, and Camp Margaritaville all offer. Stay hydrated, park in shade where possible, and use the National Hurricane Center for tropical updates. Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, so check NOAA forecasts before any summer Cypress Gardens RV trip.
