I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in East Lake-Orient Park, FL

How much does it cost to rent an RV in East Lake-Orient Park, FL?

An RV rental in East Lake-Orient Park is one of the most affordable ways to explore the Tampa Bay area. Travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes run about $175 to $250, and Class A motorhomes range from $225 to $400+ per night, depending on the season and size. Because East Lake-Orient Park sits next to the Florida State Fairgrounds and Interstate 4, demand spikes during the Florida State Fair in February and during spring break, so booking 8 to 12 weeks ahead helps lock in the best rates. Pro tip: searching mid-week pickups and using the Instant Book filter on RVezy often surfaces the best deals from local hosts.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in East Lake-Orient Park?

Good news: a regular driver's license (US, Canadian, or other valid license) is all you need to rent an RV in East Lake-Orient Park. Florida does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes, even Class A coaches over 40 feet. To book on RVezy you must meet the approved driver requirements (generally 25 or older), and your ID is verified through the platform at checkout. Visiting from abroad? What's the fuel budget for an RV trip from East Lake-Orient Park?

Budgeting fuel is easy once you know the numbers. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, Class A coaches 6 to 10 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 15 MPG). Florida gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, and you'll find big-rig-friendly stations at the Pilot Flying J on US-301 in Tampa and the TA Travel Center in Seffner, both within 10 minutes of East Lake-Orient Park. For a 4-day, 400-mile loop to Sarasota and back, expect roughly $150 to $250 in gas for a Class C. Pro tip: GasBuddy filters for diesel and high-clearance pumps, a lifesaver in a 30-foot motorhome.

What's it like driving an RV around East Lake-Orient Park and Tampa?

Driving here is more manageable than you'd think, especially if you pick the right RV. East Lake-Orient Park sits along US-301 and I-4, with quick access to I-75 and I-275, all flat, straight, and well-maintained. Avoid the Selmon Expressway reversible lanes (cars only) and watch for low clearances under 11 feet downtown, like parts of Bayshore Boulevard. Tampa traffic peaks from 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m., so plan pickups outside those windows. Afternoon summer thunderstorms can drop visibility fast, just pull off and wait 20 minutes. Pro tip: nervous about city driving? Choose delivery to your campground and skip it entirely.
fdot.gov/traffic/

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near East Lake-Orient Park?

You'll be well taken care of. Most full-hookup campgrounds in the Tampa area, including Lazydays RV Resort, Tampa East RV Resort, and Happy Traveler RV Park, offer 30/50-amp electric, fresh water, and sewer right at the site, plus pools, laundry, and Wi-Fi. State parks like Hillsborough River have water and electric at every site, central dump stations, hot showers, and waste-water fill points, but no individual sewer hookups. Free dump stations are available at the Pilot Flying J on US-301 and several Hillsborough County parks. Pro tip: fill your fresh-water tank before leaving a full-hookup park, the well water at state parks is safe but tastes mineral-heavy.
hillsboroughcounty.org/en/residents/recreation-and-culture/parks

You'll be impressed by how complete these rolling homes are. A typical motorhome rental East Lake-Orient Park includes a full kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with shower and toilet, queen or king bed plus convertible dinettes that sleep 4 to 8 total, roof air conditioning (essential in Florida), heat, and seatbelted seating while driving. Many listings include a TV, Wi-Fi hotspot or starlink, outdoor speakers, generator, and an awning with outdoor lighting. Campervan rental East Lake-Orient Park options are more compact but still pack a bed, kitchenette, and often a wet bath. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count on RVezy to match the RV to your group size exactly.
nps.gov/subjects/camping/upload/RV-Camping-Guide.htm

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card at the time of booking, never directly to the host. Most hosts also require a refundable security deposit, placed as a hold on your card before pickup and released after a successful return. The deposit is separate from your booking payment and covers issues like excess cleaning, late returns, or minor damage outside the protection plan. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video at both pickup and drop-off in East Lake-Orient Park, it documents the condition and keeps your deposit return fast and friction-free.

How do I handle Florida heat and hurricane season in an RV?

Florida's climate is part of the adventure, and your RV is built for it. Every motorhome and trailer on RVezy in East Lake-Orient Park comes with roof air conditioning, and many include a generator so you can keep the AC running at boondocking spots or during a power blip. From June through November, monitor the National Hurricane Center, most named storms give 3 to 5 days of notice, plenty of time to reroute north or return early. Drive in the morning to dodge afternoon thunderstorms, and park with the slide-out side facing away from prevailing winds. Pro tip: shoulder seasons (October to early December, March to May) deliver perfect 75°F days and dodge both the heat and the storms.
