I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Miguel and Anna were amazing to rent from. Miguel installed my Wieght Distrobution Hitch and attached to our Truck. Anna was warm and considerate, chatting with us both before we left and again when we returned the camper. Anna also provided us oranges as a gift how nice is that! I would recommend this rental to others.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Inwood, FL

How much does an RV rental in Inwood, FL cost?

RV rental in Inwood is one of the most affordable ways to explore Central Florida. On RVezy, travel trailers in the Polk County area typically start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $275 per night, and larger Class A coaches run $250 to $400 per night. Because hosts set their own pricing, you can filter by price range and compare options side by side. For a cheap RV rental in Inwood, book midweek, travel during the summer shoulder season (June through August), and look for travel trailers with delivery included so you skip fuel costs. Inwood sits just 5 miles north of Winter Haven, so a delivered trailer at a nearby campground keeps your total cost low.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Inwood, FL?

Your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Inwood. Florida does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for motorhomes or travel trailers used recreationally, regardless of size. To book on RVezy, approved drivers are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and ID verification happens right through the platform when you book. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP). Most first-time renters in Polk County are surprised how simple the process is, which is why so many Florida RV trips start with a quick weekend rental.

What protection is included with my Inwood RV rental?

Every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the road around Inwood with peace of mind. You choose your coverage level at checkout, and the plan helps cover most accidental damage to the RV during your trip. This isn't traditional auto insurance, but it provides meaningful financial protection for the situations first-time renters worry about, like a chipped windshield on I-4 or a minor scrape at a tight campground turn. Paired with included roadside support, your Polk County RV trip is genuinely low-stress from booking to drop-off.

What happens if I need to cancel my Inwood RV rental?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every rental, not individual hosts, which means consistent, traveler-friendly rules across every listing in Inwood and the surrounding Polk County area. There is a grace-period window after booking where you can get a full refund, with additional refund tiers depending on how far in advance of your trip you cancel. If a host needs to cancel, RVezy helps guests with a refund or rebooking credit. Because cancellation terms are managed by RVezy directly, you won't see them set on individual listings. Book early to lock in the best motorhomes for spring training season or theme-park holidays, knowing you have flexibility if plans shift.

Can I bring my dog on an Inwood RV trip?

Yes, Polk County is a great place for a pet-friendly RV rental in Inwood. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to instantly see motorhomes and travel trailers whose hosts welcome dogs. Once you're rolling, Bonnet Springs Park in nearby Lakeland has shaded trails and dog-friendly areas, and Lake Eva Community Park in Haines City is leash-friendly with plenty of grass. Many Polk County campgrounds welcome pets too, including Cypress Campground and RV Park in Winter Haven and Camp Margaritaville RV Resort near Auburndale. Message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee and ask about a fenced setup spot, then plan a sunset walk along Lake Howard, just 6 miles from Inwood.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Inwood?

Yes, RV delivery in Inwood is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters. Many Polk County hosts will deliver the RV directly to your campsite at Cypress Campground and RV Park, Lelynn RV Resort, or even Fort Wilderness at Walt Disney World about an hour east, then level it, hook it up to water and power, and walk you through everything before they leave. This means you don't have to tow or drive a large vehicle yourself, which is a game-changer if you're flying into Orlando or Tampa. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see which Inwood-area hosts offer it. Delivery fees are usually based on distance, and many hosts include free delivery within 20 miles.

How far can I drive from Inwood on a typical RV trip?

You have great range from Inwood, which sits in the middle of Florida with easy access to both coasts. Popular routes include Clearwater Beach (about 65 miles west, around 75 minutes), Walt Disney World and Fort Wilderness (about 50 miles northeast), Anna Maria Island (about 75 miles southwest), Kennedy Space Center (about 130 miles east), and the Florida Keys for a bucket-list run (about 280 miles south to Key Largo). Each host sets their own mileage policy, and you'll see it clearly on the listing, ranging from set daily allowances to RV rental with unlimited mileage offers. If you're planning a long Florida loop, filter for unlimited mileage to keep your budget predictable.

Where are the best campgrounds near Inwood, FL?

You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Inwood include Cypress Campground and RV Park in Winter Haven (about a 10-minute drive with full hookups and lake access), Camp Margaritaville RV Resort and Cabana Cabins in Auburndale (resort-style with pools and live music), Lelynn RV Resort in Lakeland, and Lake Wales' Harbor RV Resort and Marina if you want boat access. For a more rustic vibe, Lake Kissimmee State Park and Colt Creek State Park offer powered lakeside and forest sites. Polk County also operates public parks with camping along area lakes. For peak winter weeks, lock in a private resort early since snowbird season fills up fast.

When is the best time to visit Inwood, FL in an RV?

The sweet spot for an Inwood RV trip is October through April, when daytime highs sit in the 70s and 80s F (21 to 30 C) and humidity drops to comfortable levels. This is peak snowbird season across Polk County, so campgrounds fill up early, especially around the holidays and Detroit Tigers spring training in Lakeland (February to March). May through September brings 90 F (32 C) heat, afternoon thunderstorms, and the Atlantic hurricane season (June 1 to November 30), but RVs come well-equipped with strong AC, and summer rates are noticeably lower. Late October and early November give you warm weather, light crowds, and the lowest nightly rates of the cool season.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?

Yes, and Inwood is one of the easiest places in Florida to start. First time renting an RV? Every RVezy booking includes a hands-on orientation at pickup where your host walks you through driving tips, the propane and water systems, slide-outs, the generator, and dump procedures. You can message your host with questions before you ever book. Roads around Polk County are flat, wide, and well-signed: US-17, US-27, and I-4 give you easy access without mountain passes or narrow switchbacks. If big-rig driving still feels intimidating, choose a Class B campervan or a smaller travel trailer with delivery so the host parks it for you. RVezy customer support is also available throughout your trip.

What if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

You're covered. Every RVezy rental includes 24/7 roadside assistance with the protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you have a flat tire on I-4, a dead battery at a Winter Haven campground, or you need a tow back from the Gulf coast. You can also message your host directly through the RVezy app for quick questions about the RV's quirks, and RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after your trip. Take a slow lap around the RV with your host at pickup, snap a few photos of the exterior and interior, and save the roadside number to your phone before you leave Inwood, so everything is ready if you need it.

Can I take an RV from Inwood across state lines or into Canada or Mexico?

Yes to interstate road trips, and Inwood is a great launchpad. From here, popular RV road trips from Inwood include Savannah, GA (about 330 miles north), Charleston, SC (about 440 miles), the Great Smoky Mountains (about 700 miles), and New Orleans (about 640 miles west). Most RVezy hosts welcome cross-state travel; just confirm with your host before booking, since some have mileage caps. Travel into Canada may be allowed with host approval, so message the host directly to discuss. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. I-75 north and I-10 west are your easiest exit routes from Polk County.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for around Inwood?

Budgeting is straightforward in Florida. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes get 10 to 14 MPG, and Class A coaches typically run 7 to 10 MPG. Travel trailers don't burn fuel themselves but reduce your tow vehicle's MPG by 25 to 35%. Florida regular gasoline typically averages around $3.00 to $3.50 per gallon (diesel slightly higher), and Polk County usually sits a few cents below the state average. A round trip from Inwood to Clearwater Beach (about 130 miles) in a Class C would cost roughly $35 to $50 in fuel. Fill up at the Wawa or RaceTrac on US-17 in Winter Haven before heading out; both are easy to enter and exit with a big rig.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far ahead should I book a campground near Inwood?

For winter and spring (December through April), book 4 to 6 months ahead for the most popular spots like Fort Wilderness at Disney, Camp Margaritaville in Auburndale, and Lake Kissimmee State Park. Florida State Park reservations open 11 months in advance through the official reservation system at FloridaStateParks.org, and snowbird-favorite private resorts often sell out by October. For summer and fall, you can usually book 2 to 4 weeks ahead, though holiday weekends still fill up. Set a calendar reminder for 11 months before your target dates and grab a state park lakeside site at Lake Kissimmee right when the booking window opens, that's how the locals do it.
floridastateparks.org/learn/reservation-information

What are driving conditions like around Inwood?

Driving an RV around Inwood is genuinely easy. The terrain is pancake-flat, roads are wide, and there are no mountain passes or steep grades anywhere in Polk County. US-17 runs right through Inwood toward Winter Haven and Bartow, while I-4 (about 8 miles north) connects you to Tampa, Lakeland, and Orlando. Watch for two things: afternoon thunderstorms in summer that can drop visibility quickly (pull off if needed), and rush hour on I-4 between Lakeland and Orlando from 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, so check forecasts at weather.gov/tbw. Use the SunPass-compatible toll roads to skip cash lanes on the Polk Parkway.
fdot.gov/traffic/

What amenities do campgrounds near Inwood typically offer?

Polk County campgrounds are well-equipped. Most private RV parks in the Winter Haven and Lakeland area (Cypress Campground, Camp Margaritaville, Lelynn RV Resort) offer full hookups: 30 and 50-amp electric, fresh water, sewer at the site, plus pools, laundry, Wi-Fi, and dump stations. State parks like Lake Kissimmee and Highlands Hammock provide water and electric, with a central dump station you can use on the way out. Need to fill fresh water or dump tanks between stays? Many Pilot and Flying J truck stops along I-4 have dump stations for a small fee, and many Polk County RV parks let non-guests dump for a modest charge. Bring a 25-foot freshwater hose and a 50-amp-to-30-amp adapter to cover any site setup.

You'll be impressed. A typical motorhome rental in Inwood comes fully equipped: a real bed (often a queen), a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, a wet bath with toilet and shower, dinette seating, climate-controlled AC and heat, and seatbelted travel seats for everyone on board. Most rentals include linens, towels, kitchen basics, outdoor chairs, and a leveling kit. Many also offer Wi-Fi hotspots, a TV with streaming, a backup camera, awning, and an onboard generator for off-grid power. Class B campervans are more compact but include the essentials; larger Class A and Class C units may add bunkhouses or extra storage. Each RVezy listing spells out exactly what's included, so you'll know before you book.

What add-ons can I get with my Inwood RV rental?

Common extras include generator use, mileage upgrades, bike racks, kayak or paddleboard packages, camping chair and table sets, propane refills, outdoor grills, linen and kitchen kits, and even pre-stocked groceries. How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book an RV in Inwood through RVezy, you pay the full trip cost (rental, fees, and chosen protection plan) directly through the platform with a credit card; no cash changes hands with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately on your card before pickup and released after the trip once the RV is returned in the same condition. To avoid any deposit issues, do a walkthrough with your host at pickup, take date-stamped photos of the interior and exterior, and follow the return checklist (fuel level, propane, and tanks). Keep the dash and kitchen tidy and dump tanks if required, and most renters get their full deposit back within a few days.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Where can I park an RV overnight in Inwood besides a campground?

You have several options around Inwood. Florida rest areas along I-4 and I-75 allow short rest stops (not full camping), and many big-box stores like Walmart, Cracker Barrel, and Cabela's permit one-night stays when local rules allow; always go inside and ask the manager first. The Cracker Barrel in Winter Haven on Cypress Gardens Boulevard is RV-friendly and just 5 miles from Inwood. For longer stays, you'll want a proper RV park: Polk County rules don't allow long-term street or vacant-lot parking, and most residential driveways limit RV parking. Download the RV Parky or AllStays app to spot verified overnight options along your route, especially handy on travel days between Inwood and the coast.
