I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Mango, FL

How much does an RV rental in Mango, FL typically cost?

An RV rental in Mango, FL is one of the more affordable ways to explore the Tampa Bay area. On RVezy, motorhomes near Mango average roughly $175 to $250 per night, while travel trailers and other towables typically run about $90 to $150 per night, depending on size, age, and amenities. Many hosts offer weekly or monthly discounts, which is perfect if you are planning a snowbird stay. To find a cheap RV rental in Mango, filter by price, travel in the shoulder season (April to early June), or look for travel trailers with host delivery and setup. Pro tip: midweek pickups often unlock better nightly rates than Friday or Saturday starts.

What do I need to rent an RV in Mango, FL?

Renting an RV in Mango is refreshingly simple. You need to be at least 25 years old with a valid driver's license, and that is it. No commercial driver's license (CDL) or special RV endorsement is required in Florida, even for larger Class A motorhomes. RVezy verifies your ID right inside the platform, so you can complete everything from your phone in a few minutes. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home-country license. Most first-time renters are surprised at how quickly they go from browsing listings to confirmed booking, often the same day.

Is my RV rental protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, every RV rental in Mango booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the road with real peace of mind. You choose your protection level at checkout (Basic, Standard, or Premium), and the plan helps cover damage to the RV during your trip. If a tire blows on I-4 or your awning catches a gust off Tampa Bay, one call to roadside assistance gets help dispatched. This is not traditional auto insurance, but it provides meaningful financial protection that makes a Mango RV trip feel a lot less risky, especially for first-time renters.

What is the cancellation policy if my plans change?

Booking an RV rental in Mango is low risk because RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy. Guests have a grace period right after booking during which a full refund is available, and after that your refund depends on how far out you are from your trip start date. The exact terms are displayed during checkout, so there are no surprises. For Florida travelers, it is also worth watching weather updates between June and November during Atlantic hurricane season. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best Mango-area RVs and the longest flexibility window.

Can I bring my dog on a Mango RV trip?

Yes, pet-friendly RV rentals in Mango are easy to find. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see plenty of hosts who welcome four-legged co-pilots. Tampa Bay is one of the most dog-friendly metro areas in Florida, so your pup will have options once you arrive: Davis Islands Dog Beach in Tampa, the trails at Lettuce Lake Conservation Park, and the dog beach at Fort De Soto Park (about 45 minutes southwest) are all crowd favorites. Message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee or size limit, and pack a beach towel because sandy paws are pretty much guaranteed.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or vacation rental?

Yes, RV delivery in Mango is one of the most popular options on the platform, especially for first-timers who would rather skip the drive. Many local hosts will deliver your motorhome or travel trailer directly to nearby campgrounds like Hillsborough River State Park, Lazydays RV Resort, or a private property in Brandon, Seffner, or Plant City. They will level it, hook up water and power, dump the tanks at the end, and walk you through every system. Just use the Delivery filter when searching. Pro tip: delivery is a game-changer if you want a stationary basecamp 20 minutes from Busch Gardens without ever towing.

How far can I drive on an RV rental from Mango?

You can go just about anywhere in Florida from Mango, and many hosts offer generous or even unlimited mileage packages for longer adventures. Popular distances from Mango: Clearwater Beach is about 35 miles west, Orlando theme parks sit roughly 75 miles northeast, Sanibel Island is around 140 miles south, the Florida Keys begin about 280 miles south, and St. Augustine is approximately 200 miles north. Each listing shows the daily mileage included plus the per-mile rate for overages, so you can budget precisely. Filter for RV rental with unlimited mileage if you are planning a long Florida loop or a road trip up the Atlantic coast.

Where are the best campgrounds near Mango, FL?

You are spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Mango include Hillsborough River State Park (about 15 miles northeast, with shaded sites along Class II rapids), Lazydays RV Resort in Seffner (around 5 miles away, a full-hookup resort with pools and amenities), Happy Traveler RV Park in Thonotosassa (about 10 miles north, near Lake Thonotosassa), Lithia Springs Conservation Park (about 20 minutes south, with crystal-clear spring swimming), and Little Manatee River State Park (around 35 miles south for a quieter, woodsy stay). For RV camping in Mango itself, Lazydays is the closest full-service resort. Book Florida State Park sites up to 11 months in advance, especially January through March.

When is the best time of year to visit Mango in an RV?

The sweet spot for a Mango RV trip is mid-October through April, when daytime highs hover between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, humidity drops, and mosquitoes finally take a break. This is also peak snowbird season, so book your RV and campground sites early. Summer (June through September) brings 90-degree heat, daily afternoon thunderstorms, and Atlantic hurricane season, but you'll find lower rates and quieter campgrounds if you can handle the humidity. Spring (March to early May) is the local insider pick: warm Gulf water, blooming jasmine, and the Florida Strawberry Festival in nearby Plant City every March.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I know what to do?

You will, and you are in great hands. If it is your first time renting an RV, every RVezy host in Mango provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup (or at delivery), covering the generator, slide-outs, water system, propane, dump procedure, and driving tips for your specific rig. You can also message the host before booking with any question, big or small. Choose a Class C motorhome or a small travel trailer to start, as they drive like a large van and fit most Florida campsites. Pro tip: practice a couple of right turns in the Brandon Town Center parking lot before heading to I-75. You'll feel like a pro by sunset.

What happens if my RV breaks down during the trip?

You are covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance with the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on the Selmon Expressway or a dead battery at a campground in Zephyrhills is just one phone call away. Help is dispatched directly to your location, whether you are 5 minutes from Mango or hours down the road. You can also reach out to your host, who often knows the closest trusted mechanic, and RVezy's support team is available before, during, and after your trip. Save the roadside number in your phone at pickup. That one minute of prep makes everything easier.

What are the best road trips from Mango, FL?

Popular drives include the Gulf Coast loop down to Naples and Marco Island (about 160 miles south via I-75), the Overseas Highway through the Florida Keys ending in Key West (around 350 miles), a theme-park run to Orlando and Kennedy Space Center (75 to 140 miles), the Big Bend coastal drive to Cedar Key (130 miles north), and the Atlantic-side trip to St. Augustine (200 miles). How much will fuel cost on my Mango RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable cost on any RV trip, but Mango sits in a relatively fuel-friendly market. Florida gas prices typically run a few cents below the national average, and you'll find Wawa, RaceTrac, and Buc-ee's stations within minutes of Mango along I-75 and I-4. Expect roughly 8 to 10 miles per gallon (mpg) for a Class A motorhome, 10 to 14 mpg for a Class C, 14 to 18 mpg for a Class B campervan, and similar towing-truck numbers for travel trailers. Budget pro tip: GasBuddy regularly shows 20-cent-per-gallon swings between Brandon and Plant City, so a quick check before filling can save real money.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Mango?

For peak season (January through April), book Florida State Park campgrounds the moment your dates open. Reservations at parks like Hillsborough River State Park and Little Manatee River State Park open 11 months in advance through the Florida State Parks reservation system (ReserveAmerica), and the most popular waterfront sites are gone within minutes. Private resorts like Lazydays and Bay Bayou RV Resort typically fill up 2 to 4 months ahead in winter. For summer and fall trips, two to four weeks is usually plenty. Local insider tip: weekday arrivals (Sunday through Wednesday) almost always have last-minute openings, even at popular parks.

What are the driving conditions like around Mango?

Driving an RV around Mango is very manageable. The area is flat (no mountains, no steep grades), roads are wide, and I-4, I-75, and I-275 connect you to everywhere in the Tampa Bay region. Two things to plan around: afternoon thunderstorms from June through September can bring intense downpours (pull over for 20 minutes and they usually pass), and rush hour on I-4 between Tampa and Lakeland is genuinely rough from 7-9 a.m. and 4-6:30 p.m. Watch your height (most overpasses clear 13'6", but some downtown Tampa underpasses are lower) and avoid the Bayshore Boulevard area, which has tight curves. Hurricane season (June through November) calls for checking forecasts daily.

What amenities do campgrounds near Mango offer?

Most campgrounds near Mango come well equipped for a smooth stay. Private resorts like Lazydays RV Resort and Bay Bayou offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer), Wi-Fi, swimming pools, laundry, and dump stations. Florida State Parks like Hillsborough River and Little Manatee River typically provide water and 30-amp electric with a central dump station, plus hot showers, picnic tables, and fire rings. Need a quick dump or water fill mid-trip? Flying J on Highway 301 and several county parks offer paid dump access. Local insider tip: Hillsborough County parks limit RV stays to 30 consecutive days per park, so for longer winter visits, plan a rotation.

What's actually inside a typical Mango RV rental?

More than you might expect. Most RV rentals in Mango come fully equipped for an immediate trip: a queen or king bed, additional sleeping for 4 to 8 people, a kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower, air conditioning (essential in Florida), a generator or shore-power hookup, and seatbelts for traveling passengers. Many include a flat-screen TV, outdoor speakers, and Wi-Fi or a cellular hotspot. Listings show every amenity with photos, so you know exactly what you are getting. Pro tip: for a family RV trip in Mango with kids, filter by sleeps count and look for a bunkhouse layout.

What add-ons and pickup options do Mango hosts offer?

Mango hosts make life easy with optional add-ons that turn a campervan rental in Mango into a turnkey vacation. Common extras include linen and towel packages ($25-$75), kitchen kits, generator use ($3-$5 per hour beyond included hours), bike racks, kayaks, outdoor grills, propane refills, and pet cleaning fees. Pickup is usually at the host's home address within 15-20 minutes of central Mango, but many offer delivery to your hotel, Tampa International Airport, or campground (delivery fees scale with distance). Mileage policies vary, often 100-150 free miles per day with $0.30-$0.50 per mile after. Every detail is shown on the listing before you book. No surprises.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is secure and straightforward. You pay through RVezy's platform with a credit or debit card (never directly to the host), so your transaction is protected from start to finish. A refundable security deposit is placed as a temporary hold on your card before pickup, with the amount set by the host and shown on the listing before you book. As long as you return the motorhome rental in Mango in the same condition you received it (clean, with tanks handled per the listing rules), the hold is released after the trip ends. Pro tip: take date-stamped walkaround photos at pickup and dropoff. That five-minute habit eliminates most deposit disputes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Can I take my Mango RV rental into other states or across the border?

Yes, interstate trips are welcome on most rentals. Heading up I-75 to Georgia for the Okefenokee Swamp, cruising I-10 toward New Orleans, or driving the Atlantic coast to the Carolinas is all on the table. Travel into Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage do not extend there. Canadian trips may be possible with specific host approval. Always confirm your planned route with the host before booking, especially for longer trips, so mileage allowances and any one-way drop-off arrangements are clear. Florida's central location makes Mango a fantastic launchpad for a multi-state Southeast RV road trip.
