I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Medulla, FL

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Medulla, FL?

An RV rental in Medulla, FL is one of the most affordable ways to explore Central Florida. Travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes run $150 to $275 per night, and larger Class A coaches usually range from $250 to $400 per night. For a cheap RV rental in Medulla, travel in shoulder seasons (late April, May, September, or early October) when winter snowbirds have headed north and prices drop. What license do I need to rent an RV in Medulla, FL?

Good news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Medulla. Florida does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement for motorhomes or travel trailers used recreationally, so a standard Class E Florida license, an out-of-state license, or a valid foreign license works. To book on RVezy you must be 25 or older, and your ID is verified securely during checkout. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country's auto association before you fly in. With your ID verified and license in hand, you're ready to hit I-4 and start your Medulla RV trip.

What happens if I need to cancel my Medulla RV booking?

You have flexibility built in. RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every booking (not individual hosts), and it includes a full money-back grace period after you book so you can lock in plans without stress. After that window, refund amounts depend on how far out you are from your trip start date, and special circumstances like hurricanes (which Florida occasionally sees from June through November) are handled by RVezy's support team on a case-by-case basis. You don't need to worry about each listing having different rules. Pro tip: book early to secure the best RVs around Lakeland and Tampa, and reach out to RVezy support directly if plans shift.

Can I bring my dog on a Medulla RV trip?

Absolutely, and you'll have lots of options. A pet-friendly RV rental in Medulla is easy to find: just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see listings whose owners welcome four-legged guests (some add a small pet cleaning fee, which is shown upfront). Polk County is dog-loving, with leash-friendly trails at Loyce E. Harpe Park just minutes from Medulla, and Bonnet Springs Park in nearby Lakeland has wide-open lawns perfect for stretching paws. Local campgrounds like Sanlan RV and Golf Resort and Camp Margaritaville in Auburndale welcome leashed dogs. Pack a tie-out, a collapsible bowl, and plenty of water for warm Florida afternoons.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Medulla,Florida

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or rental property?

Yes, RV delivery in Medulla is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters. Many local hosts will drive the RV to your campground, vacation rental driveway, or a relative's house in Lakeland, Bartow, or Plant City, then set up the slide-outs, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before handing you the keys. Delivery fees are typically based on mileage from the host's location, and popular drop-off spots include Sanlan RV and Golf Resort, Camp Margaritaville in Auburndale, and Lake Kissimmee State Park. Pro tip: if you're flying into Tampa International or Orlando International, ask your host about meeting you at a campground so you can skip the rental car altogether.

How far can I drive on a Medulla RV trip?

You've got serious range from Medulla, which sits right on the I-4 corridor between Tampa and Orlando. Each RVezy host sets their own mileage policy, and many offer generous daily allowances or even RV rental with unlimited mileage packages, perfect for an RV road trip from Medulla. Popular destinations include Walt Disney World (about 45 miles northeast), Clearwater Beach (about 60 miles west), Anna Maria Island (about 75 miles southwest), Kennedy Space Center (about 100 miles east), and Everglades National Park (about 200 miles south). Where are the best campgrounds near Medulla, FL?

You're spoiled for choice. Top campgrounds near Medulla include Sanlan RV and Golf Resort, just minutes north in Lakeland with full hookups, a golf course, and lakes for fishing; Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Auburndale (about 25 minutes away), with a pool, tiki bar, and a large RV section; Lake Kissimmee State Park (about an hour east) for old-Florida nature lovers; and Sun Outdoors Lakeland for resort-style amenities. For a wilderness vibe, head to Lake Wales Ridge State Forest (about 45 miles southeast). Pro tip: book Florida State Parks at FloridaStateParks.org up to 11 months ahead, especially for winter and spring stays.

When is the best time of year for RV camping in Medulla?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Medulla runs from mid-October through April, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70s to low 80s and humidity drops noticeably. This is Florida's dry season, with cooler nights perfect for campfires and fewer afternoon thunderstorms. Summer (June through September) is hot and humid, with highs in the low 90s and near-daily afternoon showers, but it's also when kids are out of school and you'll find lower RV rates. Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, so keep an eye on forecasts. Insider tip: late February through April is paradise here, with the Plant City Strawberry Festival and wildflowers blooming across Polk County's ridge country.

I've never driven an RV before. Is renting in Medulla a good idea?

Definitely. Medulla is one of the friendlier places for first time renting an RV: the area is flat, the major roads (Polk Parkway, US-98, and I-4) are wide and well maintained, and many nearby campgrounds offer generous pull-through sites so you never have to back in. Your RVezy host will give you a full walkthrough at pickup covering every system, from leveling jacks to the propane stove, and you can text them anytime during the trip. If driving still feels intimidating, choose a host who delivers and sets up the RV for you. You'll be sipping coffee at your campsite without ever sitting in the driver's seat.

What if I break down or have a problem on the road?

You're never alone out there. Every motorhome rental in Medulla booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on I-4, a dead battery at a campsite, or a tow to the nearest service center is handled with a quick phone call. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip to help with anything that comes up. Your host is your other go-to: they know their RV inside and out and are usually quick to answer texts about quirks like switching the fridge to propane. Save both numbers in your phone before you pull out of the driveway.

Can I take a Medulla RV rental on a long road trip, even out of state?

Yes, and Florida's geography makes it a fantastic launchpad. From Medulla, popular RV road trip routes include the Florida Keys (about 350 miles south to Key West with the iconic Seven Mile Bridge), St. Augustine and the Atlantic coast (about 175 miles northeast), the Florida Panhandle's Emerald Coast (about 400 miles northwest), and even up to Savannah, Georgia (about 380 miles north). Cross-border travel to Canada is sometimes allowed; message the host directly to confirm before booking. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance doesn't extend there. Pro tip: ask your host about an unlimited mileage add-on if you're planning anything over 500 miles round trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What kind of fuel mileage should I expect, and how much will gas cost?

Budget realistically and you'll be fine. Class C motorhomes around Medulla average 8 to 10 miles per gallon, Class A coaches get 6 to 9 MPG, campervans (Class B) often hit 15 to 20 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Florida gas prices typically hover near the national average for regular unleaded in the Lakeland-Tampa area. Convenient fueling stops include Wawa, RaceTrac, and Costco stations along US-98 and the Polk Parkway. Pro tip: most local motorhomes use regular unleaded, but always confirm with your host (some larger diesel pushers need diesel) so you don't get a surprise at the pump.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far ahead should I book a campground near Medulla?

For Florida State Parks, book the moment your dates open: reservations go live 11 months in advance, and prime winter spots at Lake Kissimmee State Park and Highlands Hammock State Park (about 50 miles south) can fill quickly for January and February weekends. Private resorts like Camp Margaritaville Auburndale and Sanlan RV in Lakeland usually have more availability but still fill 2 to 3 months ahead for snowbird season (November to April). Summer and shoulder-season weekdays are much easier; you can often grab a spot a week out. Pro tip: have a backup campground in mind, and watch for cancellations 48 hours before arrival.
floridastateparks.org/learn/rv-camping

What are local driving conditions like around Medulla?

Driving an RV around Medulla is genuinely easy compared to most U.S. metros. The terrain is flat, elevation barely changes, and the main arteries (I-4, the Polk Parkway/SR-570, US-98, and SR-60) are wide multi-lane highways well suited for big rigs. Two things to watch: summer afternoon thunderstorms can dump heavy rain very quickly (pull over and wait it out under a rest-area canopy), and I-4 traffic between Lakeland and Orlando gets congested at rush hour and on Sunday afternoons. Watch for low-clearance bridges in older downtown Lakeland and stick to truck routes. Cruise control and an early morning departure make your Medulla RV trip smooth sailing.
fl511.com/

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Medulla?

Florida is RV country, so amenities are excellent. Most private resorts near Medulla, like Sanlan RV and Golf Resort, Camp Margaritaville, and Sun Outdoors Lakeland, offer full hookups (water, sewer, and 30/50-amp electric) at every site, plus heated pools, laundry, Wi-Fi, dog parks, and on-site stores. State park campgrounds such as Lake Kissimmee State Park have water and electric at sites with a central dump station and hot showers in shared bathhouses. Fresh water fill-ups are easy at any campground office. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking-water hose and a 90-degree elbow for the easiest hookups.
floridastateparks.org/learn/rv-camping

What's typically included inside the RV?

You'll be surprised how well equipped your campervan rental in Medulla is. Most RVs on RVezy come with a full kitchen (fridge, microwave, propane stove, and often an oven), a bathroom with shower and toilet, comfortable beds (queens in master bedrooms, plus convertible dinettes and bunks), air conditioning (essential for Florida summers), heating, a TV, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many hosts include linens, kitchen basics, and outdoor chairs. Larger Class A and Class C motorhomes often have a generator for off-grid power, and many include Wi-Fi hotspots. Check the listing's amenity icons or message the host to confirm specifics like a coffee maker. A family RV trip in Medulla just got easier to pack for.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Medulla,Florida

What add-ons and options can I get with my RV rental?

Hosts in the Medulla area offer add-ons that make your trip easier. Common options include linen and towel packages, kitchen kits with pots and utensils, outdoor patio sets, bike racks, beach gear, generators or extra propane, and pet-cleaning packages. For pickup and dropoff, most hosts meet you at their home base in the Lakeland-Medulla-Bartow area, though delivery is available for an additional mileage-based fee. Mileage policies vary: many hosts include 100 to 150 miles per day with a small per-mile charge after that, while some offer flat-rate unlimited mileage upgrades for longer trips. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a linen package and you'll arrive to an RV that feels like a hotel room on wheels.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Medulla,Florida

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book your RV rental Florida adventure on RVezy, you pay through the platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit is held by RVezy (not the host) at the start of your trip and is released back to your card after the RV is returned in the same condition. Deposit amounts vary by RV type. To avoid issues, take a quick video walkaround at pickup and dropoff, follow your host's fuel and dump-station policies, and respect the mileage and pet rules in your booking. Stick to those and your deposit comes back fast.

What's the local insider scoop for an RV trip from Medulla?

Here's what locals know: Medulla sits in the geographic sweet spot of Central Florida, so you can be at a Gulf Coast beach (Fort De Soto Park, about 65 miles west) by mid-morning, riding roller coasters at LEGOLAND Florida (just 20 miles east in Winter Haven) by lunch, and back at your campsite for sunset. Skip the Disney crowds and try Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, a National Historic Landmark with a 205-foot singing tower, just 30 miles southeast. The Florida Strawberry Festival in nearby Plant City (early March) is a must if you're in town, and Circle B Bar Reserve is a free local nature park where alligator sightings are nearly guaranteed. Book early and stay flexible.
