I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Riverview, FL?

Good news: a regular Florida or out-of-state driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Riverview. No commercial driver's license (CDL) or special RV endorsement is required for any motorhome or trailer you'll find on RVezy, including big Class A coaches. You'll need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID quickly through the platform before pickup. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple Florida's licensing rules make the whole process.

What protection is included when I rent an RV in Riverview?

Every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you are covered from the moment you pull onto I-75. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV during your trip, which removes a major worry for first-time renters navigating Tampa-area traffic. During checkout you choose your coverage level (not the host) based on how much peace of mind you want and your comfort with the deductible. Coverage details and limits are spelled out before you confirm. Pick your package, pack the cooler, and head for the Gulf with confidence.

What if I need to cancel my Riverview RV rental?

You can book with confidence: RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy that applies to your booking. Your refund depends on how far ahead you cancel, and special situations like a named hurricane or other natural disaster, which Florida travelers know can occasionally affect plans, are reviewed by RVezy support. Because the policy is platform-wide, the same terms apply across listings. Pro tip: if a tropical system is in the forecast, message your host and contact RVezy support early so they can walk you through your options.

Can I bring my dog on a Riverview RV trip?

Absolutely, Riverview is one of the most dog-friendly RV bases in west-central Florida. Many hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental Riverview options, and you can filter listings by Pet Friendly to see them instantly. Once you are on the road, Alafia River State Park and Little Manatee River State Park both welcome leashed dogs on most trails and at campsites, and Davis Islands Dog Beach in Tampa (about 20 minutes away) is a local favorite for off-leash swimming. Bring vaccination records, a tie-out, and a cooling mat: Florida pavement gets hot. Message the host before booking to confirm pet fees and any breed rules so check-in is smooth.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or home in Riverview?

Yes, RV delivery Riverview is one of the most popular options on the platform, especially for first-timers who'd rather skip driving a 30-foot motorhome through Brandon traffic. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to popular spots like Lazydays RV Resort in Seffner, Alafia River State Park, or even your driveway, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. Use the Delivery filter when searching to see hosts who offer it, and check each listing for the per-mile fee. Pro tip: delivery to a campground often pays for itself once you factor in fuel for a big rig.

How many miles do I get, and how far can I drive from Riverview?

Most hosts include a daily mileage allowance (commonly 100 to 150 miles per day), and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, perfect for a longer Florida loop. From Riverview you can reach a lot without burning through miles: St. Pete Beach is about 35 miles west, Sarasota and Siesta Key around 55 miles south, Orlando theme parks roughly 85 miles northeast, and the Everglades about 200 miles south. Each listing spells out the mileage cap and the per-mile overage rate so there are no surprises. Pro tip: map your route before booking and message the host to add an extra mileage package if needed.

Where are the best campgrounds near Riverview, FL?

You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Riverview include Alafia River State Park (about 15 miles southeast, with full-hookup sites along a spring-fed river), Little Manatee River State Park (around 20 miles south, great for paddling and hiking), Hillsborough River State Park (25 miles north, classic Florida hammock setting), Lazydays RV Resort in Seffner (20 minutes away, big-rig friendly with a pool and restaurant), and Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Auburndale (about an hour east, family-friendly with waterpark vibes). All accommodate RV camping Riverview travelers love. Pro tip: state-park sites release at 8 a.m. Eastern on ReserveAmerica 11 months out, and they go fast.

When is the best time of year for a Riverview RV trip?

October through April is hands-down the sweet spot for a Riverview RV trip. Daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit, humidity drops, mosquitos vanish, and Gulf beaches are at their best. November through March is also snowbird season, so book campgrounds early. Summer (June to September) brings 90 degree heat, heavy afternoon thunderstorms, and hurricane season, but it's also the cheapest time to rent and the springs at Weeki Wachee and Three Sisters stay a refreshing 72 degrees. Local insider tip: aim for late January through early March for the magic combo of cool mornings, warm afternoons, and zero hurricane risk.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

You're going to do great, and your host has your back. First time renting an RV is genuinely common in Riverview, and every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through driving, propane, slide-outs, the generator, dumping tanks, and connecting at the campsite. If you'd rather skip city driving entirely, book a host who offers delivery so the rig is set up and ready when you arrive. Start with a smaller Class C motorhome or campervan rental Riverview if nerves are a factor. Pro tip: practice in the host's driveway for 10 minutes before leaving, especially right turns and backing.

What happens if something breaks down on my trip?

You are never alone on the road. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on I-75, a dead battery at Fort De Soto, or an AC hiccup in August gets sorted with one phone call. Your host is also just a message away and usually answers fast, especially for quirks specific to their RV. RVezy customer support is reachable before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap photos of the dash, tire pressure, and any small dings during the walkthrough so any issue mid-trip is easy to document and resolve quickly.

Can I take my RV rental out of Florida or across the border?

Yes, many hosts allow interstate travel, which opens up an epic RV road trip from Riverview. Popular routes include the Florida Keys (about 350 miles south), Savannah and the Georgia coast (around 380 miles north), the Great Smoky Mountains (roughly 700 miles), and New Orleans (about 750 miles west). Cross-border travel may be allowed with host approval in some cases, but travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because protection coverage ends at the U.S. border. Always confirm out-of-state plans with your host before booking. Pro tip: ask about higher mileage packages if you are planning anything beyond Florida.

What kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?

Plan smart and you'll be fine. Class A motorhomes average 7 to 10 miles per gallon, Class C around 10 to 14, travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14), and campervans can hit 18 to 22. With Tampa-area gas typically running $3.00 to $3.50 per gallon, a 300 mile loop from Riverview to Sarasota, Siesta Key, and back in a Class C costs roughly $75 to $90 in fuel. Most Riverview-area RVs run on regular unleaded; only a handful of Class A diesel pushers need diesel. Pro tip: fill up at Wawa or Costco on Big Bend Road for the cheapest local prices.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far ahead should I book campgrounds around Riverview?

Sooner is better, especially November through April. Florida State Parks like Alafia River, Little Manatee River, and Hillsborough River open reservations up to 11 months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and prime winter weekends often sell out the same morning they release. Hillsborough County parks such as Edward Medard book through the county system. Private resorts like Lazydays RV Resort and Bay Bayou usually have more flexibility, even within a week of arrival. Pro tip: if state parks are full, set up cancellation alerts. Midweek openings appear constantly and you can often grab an affordable riverfront site.

What are driving conditions like around Riverview?

Riverview driving is mostly easy, flat, and stress-free, which makes it a friendly home base for an RV trip. I-75 and the Selmon Expressway are your main routes, and both handle big rigs comfortably outside of weekday rush hour (7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6:30 p.m.). Avoid downtown Tampa's lower Bayshore Boulevard and the older bridges in Ybor City where clearance can be tight. Summer afternoons bring sudden heavy thunderstorms, so pull off and wait them out, especially crossing the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Local insider tip: take Big Bend Road to US-41 south as a scenic, low-traffic alternative when heading to Manatee County beaches.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Riverview?

Most campgrounds around Riverview are well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Florida State Parks like Alafia River and Little Manatee River offer 30/50 amp electric, potable water, picnic tables, fire rings, hot showers, and on-site dump stations. Private resorts like Lazydays RV Resort, Bay Bayou, and Camp Margaritaville add full sewer hookups, pools, Wi-Fi, laundry, and sometimes cable. Need to dump or fill water on the way home? Most campgrounds let non-guests use the dump station for a small fee (usually $10 to $15). Pro tip: water pressure at some Tampa-area parks runs above 60 psi, so make sure your rental includes a pressure regulator before leaving the host's driveway.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/hillsborough-river-state-park

What's inside a typical Riverview RV rental?

You'll find a fully stocked home on wheels. Most Riverview-area motorhome rental Riverview options sleep 4 to 8 people with real beds (queen master, bunk, convertible dinette), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a wet or dry bathroom with toilet and shower, roof AC (a Florida must), and seatbelted travel seats. Many hosts include linens, kitchen kits, outdoor chairs, and a TV; higher-end rigs add a generator, solar, Wi-Fi hotspot, and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach. Each listing has a full amenity list and photos. Pro tip: message the host to add a starter kit if you want sheets, towels, and pots ready to go.
nps.gov/articles/rv-camping-basics.htm

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Hosts in Riverview offer a buffet of useful add-ons that make your trip easier. Common ones include delivery and setup (priced per mile), generator hours, propane refills, bike racks, kayaks, bedding and kitchen kits, portable grills, and pet packages, typically $20 to $75 each. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Riverview, Brandon, Apollo Beach, or Gibsonton, and most are flexible with 10 a.m. pickup and 11 a.m. drop-off windows. Use the Instant Book filter to skip the approval wait. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a starter kit so you arrive at Alafia River State Park with the awning out, the fridge cold, and zero work to do.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure through the RVezy platform: you pay the rental total, taxes, and any add-ons by credit card when you book, no cash to the host and no surprise charges at pickup. A refundable security deposit is handled separately from the booking payment and held on your card before the trip; amounts vary by RV. As long as you return the RV clean, on time, and undamaged, with the fuel and propane levels noted at pickup, the hold is released after the trip. Pro tip: take a short video of the interior and exterior at both pickup and drop-off so deposit questions never become deposit problems.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

How do I handle Florida's summer heat and hurricane season in an RV?

With a little planning, summer RV camping Riverview is genuinely fun and a lot cheaper. Most RVezy rentals in the area come with roof air conditioning, so pick a campground with 30 or 50 amp electric (Lazydays, Bay Bayou, Camp Margaritaville) to run AC continuously, drive in the cooler morning hours, and park with the slide-out facing east to keep afternoon sun off the living area. Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, peaking August and September. Watch the National Hurricane Center, and if a named storm is approaching, contact your host and RVezy support early to discuss safe options. Pro tip: spring-fed parks like Lithia Springs stay near 72 degrees year-round, a perfect summer escape.
