Carlos went out of his way to make everything work. It was an especially crowded weekend in Miami with a lot of traffic, and Carlos delivered the RV like a professional. The RV itself, is extremely accommodating. Our favorite part where the wonderful meals we had. My family really enjoyed it. Everything was as described or better. It came with bedding, and everything you need for a wonderful experience. Everything was perfectly clean, and smelled good, etc. Don't take that for granted, sometimes RVs have a little smell to them. Carlos keeps this one smelling fantastic. It was clean, it was nice, and I would highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Sunrise, FL

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Sunrise, FL?

Good news: an RV rental in Sunrise, FL is often cheaper than a Fort Lauderdale beach hotel once you factor in lodging and meals. On RVezy you'll typically find travel trailers from about $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes from $175 to $275, and luxury Class A coaches starting around $300. Snowbird season (December through March) is peak pricing, while May, September, and early November are the sweet spot for a cheap RV rental Sunrise travelers love. Many Sunrise hosts knock 10 to 20 percent off stays of 7+ nights, which is perfect for exploring the Everglades and Keys without rushing.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Sunrise, Florida?

Great news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Sunrise, Florida. The state of Florida does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal RVs, even big Class A motorhomes. On RVezy, the only requirements are that you're 25 or older and that you verify your identity through the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association. That's it, no DMV trip, no test, no paperwork. Once you're verified, you can browse, book, and hit the road toward the Everglades or A1A the same week.

Yes, every RV rental in Sunrise, FL booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built into the booking. You choose your coverage level at checkout, so you can pick the peace of mind that fits your trip, whether it is a quick weekend at Markham Park or a two-week loop through the Keys. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV up to the limits of the plan you choose, while roadside assistance handles flat tires, lockouts, jump-starts, fuel delivery, and tows. Book confidently and focus on the palm trees, not the paperwork.

What is the cancellation policy if my Sunrise trip plans change?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a clear cancellation policy on every reservation, and it is managed by RVezy rather than by individual hosts. The refund amount depends on how far in advance you cancel before your trip start date. If a host cancels on you, RVezy will help you rebook or provide a refund or travel credit. For full details, review the cancellation policy in the RVezy Help Center before confirming. Pro tip: book early for South Florida's winter high season so you get the best rigs while keeping your flexibility.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Sunrise?

Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Sunrise is easy to find on RVezy, just tick the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see dozens of dog-welcoming rigs in the Sunrise and Fort Lauderdale area. Many hosts charge a small pet cleaning fee (usually $25 to $75) and simply ask that pets stay off the furniture. Once you're rolling, Sunrise is a dream for dogs: Barkham Park inside Markham Park has 3.5 acres of off-leash space split into small- and large-dog sections, and Markham's RV campground welcomes pets on leash. Can the RV be delivered to my campground or hotel in Sunrise?

Yes, RV delivery in Sunrise is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it is a game-changer if it is your first time renting an RV. Filter for Delivery on the search page and you will see hosts who will drive the rig to Markham Park, C.B. Smith Park, your hotel near Sawgrass Mills, or a private driveway. The host levels the RV, hooks up water, power, and sewer, and walks you through every system before handing you the keys. Delivery fees are set by each host and are typically based on distance from their location. For nervous first-timers, this turns your Sunrise RV trip into a fully set-up vacation on wheels.

How far can I drive, and is there an RV rental with unlimited mileage in Sunrise?

You've got options: many Sunrise hosts offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage, and others include a generous daily allowance (usually 100 to 150 free miles per day) with a small per-mile fee beyond that. Check the Mileage section on each listing before booking. To put it in perspective, here are real distances from Sunrise: Everglades National Park's Shark Valley entrance is about 45 miles west, Key Largo is 75 miles south, Miami Beach is 35 miles southeast, Naples is 105 miles west via Alligator Alley (I-75), and the Kennedy Space Center is roughly 200 miles north. For a Keys loop or Orlando run, choose an unlimited-mileage rig and you'll never watch the odometer.

Where are the best campgrounds near Sunrise, FL?

You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Sunrise start with Markham Park & Target Range, a 669-acre Broward County park right inside Sunrise with 88 full-hookup RV sites, hot showers, a dump station, and even an observatory open Saturday nights. C.B. Smith Park in nearby Pembroke Pines offers 45 full-hookup sites plus a water park. T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Park in Hollywood is another great Broward County option about 20 minutes south. For a private-park vibe, the Davie/Fort Lauderdale KOA Holiday is just 4 miles east. Book Broward County parks directly through the county reservation site, and grab winter dates 4 to 6 months in advance, they fill up fast with snowbirds.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Sunrise?

The sweet spot is November through April, when Sunrise enjoys daytime highs of 75 to 82°F, low humidity, and almost no rain, perfect RV weather. December and January are peak snowbird season, so book early. Summer (June through September) is hot and humid with highs near 90°F, frequent afternoon thunderstorms, and Atlantic hurricane season running June 1 to November 30. That said, summer can be a fantastic cheap RV rental Sunrise window if you're flexible: nightly rates drop, campgrounds open up, and a well-air-conditioned motorhome handles the heat beautifully. Shoulder months like late October and early May are the locals' secret, warm Gulf-side beach days without the crowds.

I've never driven an RV. Will I be okay starting in Sunrise?

You'll do great, Sunrise is actually one of the friendlier places in Florida to learn. Streets like Sunrise Boulevard and Pine Island Road are wide, flat, and grid-laid, and I-595 and I-75 (Alligator Alley) west of town are straight, scenic highways with light traffic outside rush hour. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, covering driving, leveling, hookups, slide-outs, and dump procedures, so you're never figuring it out alone. If you're still nervous, choose a Class B campervan or small Class C (under 25 feet) for your first time renting an RV, or book delivery so the host sets it up at the campground. You can also message any host with questions before booking.

What happens if I have a breakdown during my Sunrise RV trip?

You are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so help is one phone call away whether you are on Alligator Alley, the Overseas Highway, or pulled over near Sawgrass Mills. Roadside assistance handles flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified service. For RV-specific issues like a finicky generator or a stubborn slide-out, your host is your first call, they know their rig best and most respond within minutes. RVezy's support team is also available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap a quick photo of the RV's VIN, plate, and roadside number at pickup so everything is at your fingertips if you need it.

Can I take my Sunrise RV rental across state lines or into Canada or Mexico?

Yes to road trips, just not south of the border. Most RVezy hosts in Sunrise are happy to let you cross state lines, so an RV road trip from Sunrise up to Savannah, the Smoky Mountains, or even New England is totally doable, just confirm with the host when you book. Travel into Canada may be allowed by some hosts; message the host directly to confirm before booking. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage don't extend across the Mexican border. Popular interstate routes from Sunrise include I-95 north to St. Augustine (300 miles) and I-75 north to the Florida Panhandle and beyond.

What kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?

Plan smart and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Class B campervans get around 18 to 22 miles per gallon (mpg), Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 mpg, large Class A coaches run 6 to 10 mpg, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 mpg). Florida gas prices typically run a few cents below the national average, and Sunrise has plenty of RV-friendly stations along University Drive, Sunrise Boulevard, and the I-595/Sawgrass interchange, look for Pilot, Love's, and RaceTrac for high-clearance pumps. For a 500-mile Keys loop in a Class C, budget roughly $180 to $230 in fuel. Diesel pushers cost more per gallon but stretch farther between fill-ups.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Sunrise?

For winter trips, book as early as possible. South Florida campgrounds fill up fast from December through March with snowbirds, so reserve Markham Park, C.B. Smith Park, and T.Y. Park 4 to 6 months ahead through the Broward County Parks reservation system. Florida State Parks like Long Key, Bahia Honda, and John Pennekamp open reservations 11 months in advance through the Florida State Parks reservation system, and popular Keys sites are gone within minutes of release. For shoulder-season (April, May, October, November) and summer trips, 2 to 4 weeks of lead time is usually fine. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for the 11-month mark if your heart is set on Bahia Honda.

What are driving conditions like around Sunrise, including hurricanes and heat?

Sunrise driving is mostly easy: flat roads, no mountains, and a clean grid. The main things to watch for are I-95 rush hour (7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.), sudden summer thunderstorms with heavy rain, and Atlantic hurricane season from June 1 to November 30. The National Hurricane Center tracks storms days in advance, so you'll have plenty of warning. In summer, run the dash AC, hydrate, and try to drive before noon when temps are coolest. Avoid taking tall RVs into downtown Fort Lauderdale or Miami Beach, the parking garages and low-clearance bridges aren't RV-friendly. Stick to I-595, I-75 (Alligator Alley), and the Sawgrass Expressway, and you'll cruise comfortably.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Sunrise?

South Florida campgrounds are generally well-equipped. Markham Park offers 88 full-hookup sites with 20/30/50-amp electric, water, sewer, paved pads, hot showers, WiFi, and a dump station, and tent sites are available too. C.B. Smith Park has a swim center, water park, and full hookups. Most private parks (KOA, Yacht Haven, Aztec RV Resort) include pools, laundry, and propane refills. For dump stations and potable water along your route, the Markham Park dump station is open to non-campers for a small fee, and many Pilot and Flying J stations in Davie and Pompano have RV lanes with dump and fresh water. Generators are usually quiet-hours restricted from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

What's inside a typical Sunrise RV rental? Beds, kitchen, bathroom, WiFi?

More than you'd expect. A typical motorhome rental Sunrise listing on RVezy comes fully equipped: a real queen or king bed, convertible dinette and sofa beds (sleeping 4 to 8 total), a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, propane stove, microwave, and sink, plus a bathroom with toilet and shower. Air conditioning is standard and essential in South Florida, and most rigs have a TV, Bluetooth stereo, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many hosts include a generator for off-grid AC, plus a WiFi hotspot, outdoor chairs, and kitchen starter kits. Every listing's amenities are clearly checklisted, so you can compare a stripped-down campervan rental Sunrise option against a fully-loaded Class A in seconds.

What add-ons can I get, and how do pickup and drop-off work?

Hosts in Sunrise offer some genuinely useful add-ons: bedding and linen packages ($25 to $75), kitchen kits, camping chairs and outdoor mats, bike racks, paddleboards, beach gear, generators, propane refills, and dump/cleaning services so you can hand back the keys hassle-free. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Sunrise, Plantation, Davie, or Weston, and takes about 30 to 60 minutes for the walkthrough. Drop-off is the reverse, refuel, refill propane if used, and return on time to avoid late fees. Mileage policies vary by listing (some unlimited, some 100 to 150 miles per day included), and every detail is spelled out on the listing before you book. Add delivery if you'd rather skip the driveway pickup entirely.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure: you pay through RVezy at booking using a credit card, no cash and no payments exchanged directly with the host. Your trip total includes the nightly rate, any add-ons, taxes, and applicable fees. Security deposits are separate from your booking payment and are pre-authorized (not charged) on your card before pickup, then released after a successful return. To avoid any deposit issues, take date-stamped photos of the RV's interior and exterior at pickup and drop-off, refuel to the same level, empty the tanks if your agreement requires it, and return on time. Easy in, easy out, no surprises.

Head south 75 miles on US-1 to Key Largo for John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park's snorkeling, then continue 100 more miles to Bahia Honda State Park and Key West (about 165 miles total from Sunrise).
