I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

This was our first campervan rental (actually, it was our first Campervan trip of any kind) and it has really inspired us do it again. Renting from Linda was easy. She was very responsive to any questions we had about the process and what was included. The van was amazing. Spotlessly clean with everything we needed to make our trip easy. The walk through was informative and Linda answered all our questions. We could not have been happier with our experience. We'll be renting again for sure!

Adam8 trips - Joined Jan 2024

Adam made this experience seamless. From the many questions we had before our trip to prepare and during even though we rented on a holiday weekend he was quick to respond anytime. This RV made it so nice to travel a long distance with 5 family members and 4 dogs and we were comfortable the whole trip. The RV interior was very easy to get the animal hair out as well at the end. We wanted to spend our last road trip with our girl (dog) so this was extra special to us to get to do this as many hotels do not allow her size. Threw in some of our own pillows, dog fencing and gas grill since our kiddos allergic to wood and it was perfection! Gas mileage was exactly as Adam advised as well making it easy to budget for gas. Will be renting from him again!

Our host was amazing. The unit was in fantastic condition. Having never stayed in a fifth wheel, I needed to make a couple of calls to our host for explanation. That said, he was spot on with his answers and very quick to respond. I would highly recommend these folks.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Valrico, FL

How much does an RV rental in Valrico, FL typically cost?

RV rental in Valrico, FL is an affordable way to explore Tampa Bay, with nightly rates typically starting around $95 to $130 for travel trailers, $150 to $220 for Class C motorhomes, and $200 to $300 for larger Class A motorhomes. Pricing varies by RV type, season, and add-ons like delivery, generator hours, or extra mileage. To find a cheap RV rental in Valrico, look at travel trailers from local hosts and book midweek when demand is lower. Shoulder months like March, April, and October offer a sweet spot of pleasant weather and lower nightly rates, especially when you avoid spring break weekends and Gasparilla in Tampa.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Valrico, FL?

Good news: a regular Florida driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Valrico. No Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special RV endorsement is required for the motorhomes, campervans, and travel trailers listed on RVezy. Approved drivers must generally be 25 or older with a valid license, and ID verification happens through the RVezy platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home country license. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple it is, so you can spend less time on paperwork and more time planning your Valrico RV trip to the Gulf beaches.

Is protection included when I rent an RV in Valrico?

Yes, every RVezy booking in Valrico, FL automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you are covered from the moment you pick up the keys. The protection plan covers eligible damage to the RV and gives you real peace of mind during your trip. During checkout, you choose your level of coverage, not the host, so you can pick the option that fits your trip, whether it is a quick weekend at Lithia Springs or a longer Florida loop. That built-in safety net is a big reason first-time renters feel confident booking an RV rental in Valrico through RVezy.

What if I need to cancel my Valrico RV rental?

You can book with confidence: RVezy, not individual hosts, sets the cancellation policy, which includes a grace period after booking so you have breathing room to finalize plans. Refunds beyond that window depend on how far out your trip start date is, which matters in Florida during hurricane season from June to November. Because RVezy applies the same cancellation policy across all bookings, you will not need to negotiate with the host or sort through different rules per listing. If a host cancels, RVezy issues a refund or travel credit. Book early for popular Tampa Bay weekends and contact RVezy support promptly if a tropical storm threatens your dates.

Can I bring my dog on a Valrico RV trip?

Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Valrico is easy to find on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on your search and you'll see listings from hosts who welcome dogs and cats. Once you've booked, Hillsborough County is loaded with pet-friendly spots: Alafia River State Park allows leashed dogs in day-use and campground areas, and Lithia Springs Park has shaded riverside trails perfect for a walk. Many local RV parks like Hidden River RV Resort welcome pets too. Pro tip: keep a collapsible water bowl and a towel handy since Florida humidity makes post-swim cleanups in the Alafia a daily routine.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in the Valrico area?

Yes, RV delivery in Valrico is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters. Many local hosts will tow or drive the rig straight to your chosen campground, set it up, level it, connect the hookups, and walk you through every system before they leave. That's huge if you're nervous about driving a big motorhome through Brandon traffic or backing into a wooded site at Alafia River State Park. Filter for Delivery on the listing page to see hosts who offer it, then message them for a delivery quote based on mileage. It's the closest thing to a hotel experience with the freedom of RV camping in Valrico.

How far can I travel from Valrico on an RV trip?

You've got incredible range from Valrico, FL. Popular RV road trips from Valrico include Clearwater Beach (about 35 miles west), Anna Maria Island (around 55 miles south), Sarasota and Siesta Key (roughly 65 miles), Orlando theme parks (about 85 miles northeast), and the Florida Keys (a stunning 350-mile southbound run). Each host sets their own mileage policy, with some offering generous daily allowances and a few listings advertising RV rental with unlimited mileage. Before booking, check the listing's mileage details and message the host if you have a longer route in mind. Pro tip: build in a buffer day if you're heading to the Keys since US-1 traffic past Key Largo crawls on weekends.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Valrico, FL?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Valrico is mid-October through April, when daytime highs sit comfortably in the 70s and 80s and humidity drops to its most pleasant levels. December through February nights occasionally dip into the 40s and 50s, which is perfect campfire weather. Summer (June to September) brings highs in the low 90s with daily afternoon thunderstorms and the Atlantic hurricane season, so plan to drive in the morning and relax under your awning by 3 p.m. Spring (March to early May) is gorgeous and a favorite for a family RV trip to Valrico before school lets out and snowbird crowds clear.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving one in Valrico?

Yes, you've got this. Every RVezy host gives a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through driving, the awning, generator, water, and waste systems so you're not left guessing. Valrico itself is a quieter Tampa suburb with wide roads off SR-60 and easy access to I-75, which makes it gentler than launching from downtown Tampa. If you're nervous about size, start with a Class B campervan rental in Valrico or a small Class C motorhome. For first time renting an RV, ask your host to demo backing into a site and have them double-check the propane and water connections. Within a day, you'll feel like a pro.

What happens if something breaks down during my trip?

Take a deep breath: every RVezy rental includes 24/7 roadside assistance with the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you are parked in Valrico or stopped along I-4. Tire issues, battery jumps, lockouts, and towing are part of the coverage. You can also message your host directly through the RVezy app, since local Valrico owners often know the quickest fixes for their specific rig. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Snap a photo of any warning light and send it to your host before doing anything, it usually saves a lot of time.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protection

Can I take my Valrico RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, interstate travel is allowed on most listings, so a Valrico RV rental can roll into Georgia, the Carolinas, or up the East Coast as part of a longer RV road trip from Valrico. Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the specific host and protection plan, so message the host before booking to confirm and notify RVezy of your route. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage stops at the border. Popular multi-state routes from Valrico include Savannah, GA (about 350 miles) and the Great Smoky Mountains (around 650 miles), both very doable as a one-week loop.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What kind of fuel mileage and budget should I plan for?

Planning fuel is easier than you'd think. Class C motorhomes around Valrico typically get 8 to 12 MPG on gasoline, Class B campervans 16 to 20 MPG, and travel trailers depend on the tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 MPG). Florida gas prices generally hover around the national average, with cheaper fill-ups on the east side of Tampa Bay near Plant City compared to beachside stations. For a 4-day Valrico to Sarasota and back trip, budget roughly $100 to $180 in fuel for a mid-size Class C. Pro tip: use the GasBuddy app and fill up at Wawa or Buc-ee's on I-75, where prices are consistently lower than tourist corridors.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Valrico?

Earlier is better, especially in winter. Florida State Parks like Alafia River and Hillsborough River release reservations 11 months in advance through the official Florida State Parks reservation system, and prime January-March weekends often fill the first morning they open. Private parks like Lazydays RV Resort and Hidden River usually book 2 to 4 months ahead for snowbird season but have more midweek flexibility. Hillsborough County's own parks (like Edward Medard) take reservations through the county system. Pro tip: if you strike out for a weekend, search Sunday-through-Thursday dates instead, you'll often find prime riverside sites available with no competition.
reserve.floridastateparks.org/

What are local driving conditions like around Valrico?

Driving an RV in Valrico is pretty forgiving once you know the patterns. State Road 60 is the main east-west artery with multiple lanes and easy big-rig clearance, and I-75 just west of town connects you to Tampa, Sarasota, and Ocala. Expect heavier traffic during morning and evening commutes near Brandon and around the I-4/I-75 interchange. Summer afternoon thunderstorms can drop heavy rain fast, so pull off at the next exit and wait 20 minutes rather than driving through it. Watch for low-hanging Spanish moss on older residential streets, and be mindful of bridge clearances heading toward the Sunshine Skyway. Otherwise, this is one of Florida's easier metros to navigate in a motorhome.
fl511.com/

What hookups and amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Valrico?

Most Valrico-area campgrounds make it easy on RVers. Private parks like Lazydays RV Resort, Hidden River, and Bay Bayou typically offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer) plus laundry, Wi-Fi, and pools. Florida State Parks at Alafia River and Hillsborough River offer water and electric at the site with centralized dump stations and bathhouses, but no sewer hookups at individual pads. Lithia Springs Park has electric sites and shared restrooms. For potable water fills and dumps between trips, the dump stations at state parks are open to registered campers. Pro tip: pack a 25-foot sewer hose and a water pressure regulator since older Florida parks sometimes have high municipal water pressure.
floridastateparks.org/rv-camping

What equipment and amenities come with a Valrico RV rental?

You'll be surprised how loaded these rigs are. Most motorhome and travel trailer rentals in Valrico come with a queen or king bed, a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a wet or dry bathroom with a shower, dinette seating that converts to extra sleeping, air conditioning (critical for Florida), and seatbelts for all designated travel passengers. Many include a TV, and some hosts add a Wi-Fi hotspot or generator for off-grid stays. Listing pages spell out exactly what's included, from outdoor chairs to kitchen kits. Pro tip: ask the host whether linens and a stocked kitchen are included or available as add-ons, it saves a Target run on day one.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/recreational-vehicle-safety

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Hosts in Valrico make customizing simple. Common add-ons include generator hours, bike racks, kayak or paddleboard carriers, outdoor grills, linen and kitchen packages, and pet cleaning fees if you're bringing a dog. Mileage policies vary by listing: some hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per day with a per-mile fee beyond that, while others advertise unlimited mileage for road-trippers. For pickup, you can typically meet at the host's property in or near Valrico, or pay for delivery to your campground. Pro tip: bundle generator hours and delivery when booking a Florida State Park site, since those parks have no shore power in some loops and quiet hours limit generator use.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure. You pay through the RVezy platform when you book, never directly to the host in cash, which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (the amount is shown on the listing) and released after your return once the host confirms the RV came back in good condition. To avoid issues, take time-stamped photos at pickup and dropoff, refill fuel and propane as required, and stick to the mileage and generator allowances. Review the host's checkout checklist 24 hours before return so your Valrico, FL RV rental ends with a smooth deposit refund and a five-star review.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

How do I prepare for Florida's summer heat and hurricane season in an RV?

Summer in Valrico is hot but very doable with a few smart moves. Daytime temps from June through September hover in the low 90s with high humidity, so book RVs with strong roof AC, park in shaded sites (the oaks at Hillsborough River State Park are unbeatable), and run errands before 11 a.m. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, with peak activity August through October. Watch the National Hurricane Center forecast, sign up for Hillsborough County alerts, and have a flexible plan to reposition inland if a storm tracks toward Tampa Bay. Pro tip: shoulder seasons (late October and March) give you the same sunshine without the heat or storm risk, making them the smart-money choice for a Valrico RV trip.
