I would to thank Carlos Acuna and his wife the the excellent rental RV they provided for me at the EAA Sun-n-Fun event in Lakeland, Florida recently. They provided a beautiful and extremely clean RV for us. They accomplished a complete setup and gave me a very good briefing on the operational aspects of the RV. The personal touches such as the personalized Welcome sign, snacks, coffee, and other items were greatly appreciated. I will definitely attempt to rent from them again in the future.

Great Experience! I Highly recommend! All you need to do is bring yourself, your clothes, and some food. Just about everything else is provided. They have a weight distribution hitch (which saved me a lot of money). They even had the cable to hook up my generator. Their A/C blew ice cold air, the refrigerator kept everything cold and the freezer worked perfectly. If you can get fresh water, you leave and have hot showers! All you have to do is back up your vehicle, hitch it up and go have fun. The owners are Very helpful and communicate very quickly to help with any questions you have. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience.

What do I need to rent an RV in Zephyrhills, Florida?

Renting an RV in Zephyrhills is refreshingly simple. You need to be at least 25 years old with a valid driver's license, and a regular Class E Florida license (or your home state or country equivalent) is all that's required: no commercial driver's license (CDL) or special RV endorsement is needed for the motorhomes and trailers listed on RVezy. International guests can drive on their home license paired with an International Driving Permit (IDP). You'll confirm your identity right through the RVezy platform during booking, so there's no DMV trip or paperwork hassle. Most first-time renters in Pasco County are surprised how quick the approval is, often the same day you book.

What happens if I need to cancel my Zephyrhills RV rental?

Booking an RV in Zephyrhills is lower-risk than most people expect. RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy, and every booking includes a money-back grace period right after you reserve, so if plans change quickly you're protected. Beyond that window, your refund eligibility depends on how far out you cancel and the circumstances, such as a named hurricane or other natural disaster affecting Florida travel. Because tropical weather is a real consideration in Pasco County from June through November, the policy is designed to be flexible around qualifying events. You can review the current cancellation policy on the RVezy Help Center before you confirm your trip.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Zephyrhills South?

Yes, RV delivery in Zephyrhills South is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who'd rather skip driving a big rig. Many Pasco County hosts will deliver and fully set up your RV at local parks like Happy Days RV Resort, Settler's Rest RV Resort, Glen Haven RV Resort, or Hillsborough River State Park, then walk you through every system before they leave. You just show up with your bags and groceries. Look for the Delivery filter when browsing listings, then message the host with your campground name and dates. Delivery fees are usually based on mileage from the host's location, and many waive the fee for longer stays.

How far can I drive on a Zephyrhills RV trip?

You can cover serious ground on a Zephyrhills RV trip thanks to its central Florida location. Tampa is about 30 miles southwest (roughly 40 minutes), Orlando and the theme parks are about 70 miles east (around 90 minutes), Crystal River and the manatees sit about 70 miles northwest, St. Petersburg beaches are about 55 miles southwest, and the Florida Keys are a 7 to 8 hour cruise south. Each RVezy host sets their own mileage policy, so look for listings advertising RV rental with unlimited mileage if you're planning a longer loop. For shorter weekend stays at local parks, a capped daily mileage option is usually the cheaper route.

Where are the best campgrounds near Zephyrhills South to park my RV?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Zephyrhills. A few favorites: Hillsborough River State Park (about 15 minutes south) offers shaded sites along a Class II-rapids river with electric and water hookups and canoe rentals; Happy Days RV Resort on Chancey Road has full-hookup big-rig sites with a heated pool and pickleball; Settler's Rest RV Resort and Glen Haven RV Resort (both Sun Outdoors properties) are popular with 55+ travelers; and Withlacoochee River Park in nearby Dade City has rustic sites surrounded by cypress hammocks. Pro tip: state park sites at Hillsborough River book up 11 months out for winter, so reserve early through ReserveAmerica the moment your dates open.

When is the best time of year to take an RV trip from Zephyrhills?

The sweet spot for an RV road trip from Zephyrhills is November through April, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70s to low 80s, humidity drops, and rainfall is at its lowest, this is exactly why snowbirds flock to Pasco County all winter. January and February are particularly pleasant for camping, with highs around 72F and crisp 50F nights perfect for campfires. Summer (June through September) brings 90F heat, high humidity, and daily afternoon thunderstorms, but it's also the cheapest season and your RV's air conditioning handles it just fine. October and early November are an underrated shoulder window: warm days, quieter campgrounds, and beautiful sunsets over the rolling hills.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving one around Zephyrhills?

You'll be just fine, first time renting an RV in Zephyrhills is one of the gentler places to learn. The roads around town (Gall Boulevard, US-301, SR-54) are flat, wide, and well-marked, with very few tight turns or steep grades anywhere in Pasco County. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving tips, hookups, dumping, and the propane and water systems, and they're a quick text away during your whole trip. If big rigs feel intimidating, start with a Class B campervan or a small travel trailer, both are easy to handle on Florida's flat highways. Bonus: 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every booking.

What happens if something breaks down during my Zephyrhills RV rental?

Take a breath, you're covered. Every RVezy booking in Zephyrhills includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so whether it's a flat tire on I-75, a dead battery at Hillsborough River State Park, or a tow needed off SR-54, help is one phone call away. Beyond roadside, RVezy's customer support team is reachable before, during, and after your trip, and your host is usually just a quick text away to troubleshoot quirks specific to their RV. Pasco County also has a strong network of RV service shops in nearby Wesley Chapel and Tampa if anything needs a closer look. Pro tip: snap a photo of any dashboard warning lights and send it to your host first.

Can I take my Zephyrhills RV rental on a road trip to other states?

Yes, an RV road trip from Zephyrhills can absolutely cross state lines: Georgia, Alabama, the Carolinas, and beyond are all fair game with most RVezy hosts. Popular multi-state routes include heading north to Savannah, GA (about 5 hours) or the Great Smoky Mountains (around 10 hours), or south to the Florida Keys for an island-hopping loop. Confirm with your host before booking that your route is approved, since some listings have geographic limits. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage does not extend across that border. Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed with explicit host approval.

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for my Zephyrhills RV trip?

Budgeting fuel for an RV rental in Zephyrhills is straightforward once you know the ballpark. Class C motorhomes typically get 8 to 12 mpg, Class A rigs around 6 to 10 mpg, Class B campervans 14 to 20 mpg, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually a 20 to 30 percent mpg hit). Florida gas prices tend to run close to the national average, and Zephyrhills has plenty of large fuel stations on US-301 and SR-54, including truck-friendly Wawa, RaceTrac, and Pilot stops that are easy to pull a 30-foot rig into. Pro tip: use the GasBuddy app to find the cheapest diesel or gas along I-75 before you leave town, savings add up fast on a week-long loop.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Zephyrhills?

For the best campgrounds near Zephyrhills, the earlier the better, especially in peak winter. Florida State Parks (including Hillsborough River State Park) open reservations exactly 11 months in advance through the Florida State Parks reservation system, and prime January through March sites get scooped up within hours of release. Private parks like Happy Days, Settler's Rest, and Glen Haven often book 3 to 6 months ahead for snowbird season but have more flexibility in summer and early fall. Pro tip: if you strike out at the state park, check daily for cancellations, they pop up constantly. For a family RV trip in Zephyrhills during summer, you can often grab a same-week site with no problem.

What are local driving conditions like around Zephyrhills South?

Driving conditions in Zephyrhills South are about as RV-friendly as Florida gets: flat terrain, gentle rolling hills (the town's namesake), and well-maintained roads. The main corridors are US-301, SR-54, and SR-56, all wide and easy to navigate in a 30-foot rig. Watch for two things: summer afternoon thunderstorms between June and September that can drop visibility fast (pull off and wait it out), and increased traffic on SR-54 during weekday rush hour as Tampa commuters head home. I-75 is just 15 minutes west for longer hauls. Avoid downtown Dade City's narrow historic streets with a large motorhome, and stick to the bypass instead. No mountain grades, no tunnels, just smooth Florida cruising.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Zephyrhills?

Campgrounds near Zephyrhills are loaded with amenities, which is part of why the area is such a snowbird hotspot. Most private parks (Happy Days, Settler's Rest, Glen Haven, Sweetwater, Southern Charm) offer full hookups with 30 and 50-amp electric, water, sewer, heated pools, laundry, Wi-Fi, and rec halls with shuffleboard, pickleball, and bocce. Hillsborough River State Park has electric and water hookups, a dump station, hot showers, and a camp store. Need to dump or fill water between stops? Most full-hookup parks let non-guests dump for a small fee. Pro tip: confirm site length when booking, some older Chancey Road parks have narrow pads better suited to rigs under 35 feet.

Payment for your RV rental in Zephyrhills is handled securely right through RVezy: no cash, no checks, no awkward parking-lot transactions. You'll pay your rental total when you book using a credit or debit card. A refundable security deposit is held separately, typically a few days before pickup, and released back to you after the trip once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape with no damage and no missing items. To avoid any hiccups: do a thorough walkaround video at pickup with your host, return the RV with the same fuel and propane levels, and clean up after pets.
