We had an amazing experience renting this camper van for the weekend! The van was clean, comfortable, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. It easily carried all of our gear, including a cooler and fishing poles, with plenty of room to spare. It truly had all the comforts of home—and more. From the kitchen essentials to the camping accessories, everything was provided, making our trip easy and enjoyable. Mark, the owner, was fantastic to work with. He took the time to thoroughly show us how to operate the van and explained all of its features and accessories before we left. His attention to detail and willingness to answer our questions made us feel confident and well prepared for our trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better rental experience. If you’re looking for a well-equipped camper van and an owner who genuinely cares about his renters, we highly recommend renting from Mark. We would definitely rent from him again!

What license do I need to rent an RV in Little Ferry, NJ?

Good news: a standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Little Ferry, NJ. New Jersey does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for the personal motorhomes and trailers typically rented on RVezy. RVezy's approved driver requirements generally ask renters to be 25 or older, and your ID is verified through the platform during checkout, so there are no extra trips to the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC). What kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I plan for?

Planning your fuel budget is easier than you might think. Class B campervans typically get 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, Class A coaches around 7 to 10 MPG, and towable trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Gas prices in Bergen County tend to track close to the regional average, and New Jersey remains a full-service state, so an attendant pumps for you along Route 46 and Route 17. For a typical 300-mile weekend in a Class C, budget about $130 to $160 in fuel. Pro tip: compare prices before crossing into New York or Connecticut where rates can jump, and use GasBuddy along your route.

Pro tip: aim for 8 to 12 weeks ahead for July, August, and any holiday weekend, and set cancellation alerts to grab last-minute openings.

What are driving conditions like around Little Ferry?

Little Ferry sits in dense northern New Jersey, but with a few smart choices, driving a motorhome here is very manageable. The Holland and Lincoln Tunnels prohibit propane-equipped vehicles, so route RVs over the George Washington Bridge (upper level for taller rigs) or use the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge for east-west crossings, or take I-80 west to escape the metro. Rush hour on Route 17, Route 46, and the Turnpike is heavy from about 7 to 10 AM and 4 to 7 PM, so plan pickups outside those windows. Winter storms can bring snow from December through February, so check 511NJ for conditions and ask your host about winter tire setup before heading out.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Little Ferry?

You will find a great mix of options. Full-hookup parks like Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City offer 30/50-amp electric, fresh water, and sewer right at your site, plus laundry and Wi-Fi. State park campgrounds in NJ such as Worthington and Stokes typically offer rustic sites with limited or no hookups, with centralized dump stations and potable water fills available. Many private parks add pools, playgrounds, and camp stores. For dump and freshwater fills along the way, Cabela's in Hamburg, NJ (about 35 miles) and Flying J truck stops along I-80 are reliable. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking water hose, a 30-amp to 50-amp adapter, and disposable gloves for sanitation work.
