This was our first time renting a camper, we chose MiKasta owned by Alberta. I have to say, that this was one of the most enjoyable times we had. Alberta was a gentleman and awesome host. The camper and service was top notch! We stayed at Santos camp ground which a group of us do every year during Thanksgiving and I can tell you, we will be back and requesting MiKasta again next year for sure.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Floral City?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Floral City, Florida. The State of Florida does not require a Commercial Driver's License or any RV-specific endorsement for personal motorhomes or travel trailers under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every RV on RVezy. You will need to be at least 25 years old and upload a clear photo of your license during booking so RVezy can verify your ID as an approved driver. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home-country license. That is it: no test, no endorsement, just pack the cooler and go.

What happens if I need to cancel my Floral City RV trip?

Plans change, and RVezy keeps cancellations straightforward. RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy for every booking, and it includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. After that window, the refund amount depends on how far ahead of your trip you cancel. If your host cancels, you are refunded or offered travel credits. Review the current policy in the RVezy Help Center before you book, then go ahead and pencil in that Strawberry Festival weekend in Floral City.

When is the best time of year for RV camping in Floral City?

Here's the local secret: October through April is hands-down the best time for RV camping in Floral City. Daytime highs run a delightful 70 to 80 degrees, evenings cool to the 50s, humidity drops, and the mosquitoes give you a break. The Floral City Strawberry Festival on the first weekend of March and Heritage Days the first weekend of December are both incredible reasons to visit. Summer (June through September) brings 90-plus degree heat, daily thunderstorms, and hurricane season, though early-morning paddles on Tsala Apopka Lake are still gorgeous. For the sweet spot of mild weather and lower prices, target late October or early February.

I've never rented an RV before. How does it work in Floral City?

First time renting an RV? You're going to be surprised how easy it is. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup or delivery, covering the propane, water pump, slide-outs, awning, generator, and how to dump tanks. Many Floral City hosts even include a printed cheat sheet. Can I take my Floral City RV rental out of state or across the border?

You sure can, and Florida's central location makes road trips a blast. Most RVezy hosts in Floral City allow travel throughout the continental U.S., so a Georgia coast loop or a swing through the Smoky Mountains is on the table. Message the host before booking to confirm your route, especially for longer hauls. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage does not extend there. Travel to Canada may be allowed with host approval and confirmed insurance validity. Popular RV road trips from Floral City include the Florida Keys (about 360 miles south) and Savannah, Georgia (around 330 miles north).

What kind of fuel mileage should I plan for in Floral City?

Florida's flat terrain is a fuel-economy gift, so your gas budget for an RV rental in Florida will stretch nicely. Expect roughly 8 to 10 MPG in a Class A, 10 to 14 MPG in a Class C or campervan, and 12 to 18 MPG when towing a travel trailer with a host-provided truck. Regular unleaded in the Floral City area typically runs $2.95 to $3.40 per gallon. Fill up at the Wawa or Circle K on US-41 in Inverness before heading out, since stations get sparser once you're deep in the Withlacoochee State Forest. A weekend hop to Crystal River and back usually costs under $40 in gas.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Floral City?

For the best sites near Floral City, book early, especially at Florida State Parks. Fort Cooper State Park in Inverness opens reservations 11 months in advance through the Florida State Parks Reserve system, and prime winter sites for January, February, and March often vanish within minutes. Private parks like Trails End RV Park are more flexible, with 2 to 4 weeks ahead usually working outside snowbird season. Pro tip: weekday arrivals are easier to snag, and if you strike out, check daily for cancellations about 7 days before your target date, that is when many refund deadlines pass and sites pop back open.

What are the driving conditions like around Floral City?

Driving an RV around Floral City is refreshingly mellow. The roads are flat, straight, and lightly trafficked compared to the I-4 corridor or Miami. US-41 runs right through town as a wide two-lane that's easy in any rig, and the Suncoast Parkway (toll) and I-75 are both about 12 to 15 miles away for longer hauls. Watch for: occasional thick morning fog over the lakes in winter, sudden summer thunderstorms (pull over and wait, they pass quickly), and the famous Avenue of the Oaks on E Orange Avenue, where low branches mean Class A drivers should stick to the marked center line. Cell service is solid across Citrus County, so navigation stays reliable.

How do payments and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment on RVezy is refreshingly simple. You pay securely through the platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, so your money is protected the whole way. A portion is charged when you book, and the balance is typically due before pickup. Each host also sets a refundable security deposit for your Floral City rental, which is held separately from your booking payment and released after drop-off as long as the RV comes back in the same condition. To avoid deposit hiccups: complete the walk-around video at pickup and return, refill propane and fuel as agreed, and dump the tanks before handing the keys back.
